Did an ADHD 13 year old boy help write this? Chapter 1, the woman reminisces about a teen lesbian experience while she's climbing over a guard rail on the freeway (I know when I walk around the freeway, I think about sex..). Later, she has a lesbian encounter & is upset. Why? Now, she & her friend are whining about their boobs, flirting & comparing nipple size.. What's next, a pillow fight?

The first time (so far) I've read a high fantasy novel where you really get a sense of the power & concussion of a mage's spell attacks. I love the dragon (LOVE the dragon) and I'm getting an even more surreal "half in gamer fantasyland" feeling from this than I did with the Drizzt. Really liking this one so far and I'm surprised I haven't (have I?) heard of it before.

Glacier National Park - good timing, we've been curious about the park!
The story about the guy painting ice cream on his kids face...why do I have a feeling that was a piece of reality in the guise of fiction?

What? They haven't...you know... well I thought there'd be some explanation involved if they did... you know... but still, all that unobserved time in private, how have they not...? oh my....

Oh boy...a sociopath's sex life. It's like leftover food on dirty dishes in the sink. Aomame's sexuality invokes that "ick! get it off me!" feeling I get when some weird creepy bit of food gets stuck to my hand.

I think I'm 10% ...it is hard to tell with an audiobook.
This is weirdly fascinating. Maybe the narrators are making it work. It doesn't seem like the story itself is that exciting, but I'm still enjoying the listen. Though... what's with Aomame's frown? Is she a vampire or something? Undead? Zombie? I want to see this terrifying frown. I feel like I missed something, there.

Who the heck is character-introduced-out-of-the-blue Harry? And why do we care about his shirts?

Finally finally finally I get to read this. I had to re-read the first two books again before moving on. I realized something by book 2... Gareth is Spike. Not the "big bad" side of Spike, but the slightly naive romantic. This just makes me adore him that much more.

Split Second (Sean King & Michelle Maxwell, #1)
I barely know what's going on. I keep tuning the narrator out. One minute Michelle and Sean are all flirty hanging out at his house, the next there's someone trying to kill her...then Sean's on a trip with Joan... isn't this supposed to be a thriller? Sounds like a Sweet Valley High book with Secret Service people.
No really, it's not that bad. If it were in text instead of audio, I'd be following it fine.

Oh god, Scott Brick. If we could clone his performance in The Lion's Game and use it for the rest of his books, that'd be perfect. The rest are just frustrating - he sometimes gets over dramatic. He's got a great voice, but delivery ruins it.
The actual book - eh. It's not knocking my socks off. I like the two main characters, more or less.

Liberty Falling (Anna Pigeon, #7)
She usually doesn't fluff up any murders but god, this one was way more graphic than I needed.
That said, I can relate to her bitchy awkwardness. I can't relate to her ability to not be bothered by others behavior (I wish I could).
The scene where the doctor sits down next to her to talk - the doc did that to me after Shaun's surgery. I thought I was going to barf on him.
