Very addicting book every time I read. The 4 page chapters really make that whole “Just 1 more chapter” bit a struggle lmao

Probs the best Part 1 of the series so far

God I love this book.

Starts off a fair bit stronger than either of the last 2 books in some regards.

Yes, the back half of this book is very tense and flies by.

Now is when the book really starts to pick up. I love the memories and stories from prior to the incident in every-other-chapter of the first half of the book, but now that all of the real-time events are starting to come together is when things get great.

What a poem. Very long, with arguably as many words in footnotes calling out references as to the actual poem itself.

A lot going on in this one. Feels relatively classical - although much of that could be because of brief references to older poets and similar.

This is one I’ll have to read up on and do a read-through with some outside commentary to really get much more than a basic “hmm”.

Pacing not quite as on point as the first book but the events occurring are a bit more engaging.

I love how even the chapters in between the main “narrative” so to speak are so good. They’re just collections of short memories and tales from the years prior to the main events of the book, but they’re still great in their own way.

Several poems read today;

Imitation; Stanzas; Sonnet - To Science
- All 3 star (not particularly memorable or notable)

“The Happiest Day - The Happiest Hour”; The Lake: To _____
- Both 4 star (I sense deeper meaning to both that I need to study more)

Evening Star
- 4.5 star (fantastic imagery)

A Dream
- 5 star (brilliant. Last stanza I still need time on, but the rest are a chef’s kiss of flow and meaning)

There’s an aspect that has been a tad annoying, but character dynamics are surprisingly great so far.

Another chapter down; was hoping to get another chapter done this morning but a friend's car broke down XD

Here goes yet another journey with an April-nostalgia favorite.

Last chapter. Ngl, there's one particular plot here in the last hundred pages that has greatly underwhelmed me...because it just hasn't existed.

Also, another category of subplots which for the last like 400-500 pages I think has taken a bit more time than I would've preferred.

Let's see if this last chapter satisfies.

Just 50 pages left.

There was a twist there that I had an inkling of - that I knew I should’ve saw coming, yet somehow completely missed.
