Now through Chapters 1 and 2. Chase is definitely wasting no time with this one, which has been much appreciated. I can’t wait to see what other crazy shit he packs this with as it’s somehow close to 50% longer the first book was and it has relatively to slow-build towards.

Finally made some progress again today, if not a lot.

Got right up to the Journal part - apparently finishing Chapter 4.

Still quite good. We’ll see how the rest of this goes.

Now some big things are starting to happen in one of the major plotlines.

Has started off a bit different than I was thinking it would, but is also a bit more readable than I was thinking it would too. Already had to save a quote too

Book is getting pretty damn hype at this point. Took a hot minute, but it's essentially there now.

Okay, my general sense of what's going on between different characters and plotlines is coming together a bit better, and the book is improving.

I am a tad salty that it took 200 pages to get to a point that flipping from POV to POV wasn't a pain in my butt to keep things straight hahaha

So things are starting to come together in ways that I'm liking. Several characters and the concerns of that we've seen from a handful of different POVs have come together into one place, while leaving a couple of them still left elsewhere, but it's still cool.

Sure it became difficult yet again to differentiate the characters/their names from all the different POVs, but I enjoy the politics on display regardless.

So far still so good. Let's see how in the actual hell this madlad plans to finish this book in only 4 more chapters like wtf?

Very close to done. Shaping up to be a 5/5. Even if the ending is confusing or underwhelming or rushed and takes the overall to, say, 4.5, everything up to this point has been so DAMN GOOD, that I highly doubt it won't be 5 stars at the end.

I've actually had moments reading today where I'm struggling keeping some of them straight, assuming I remember them in the first place hahaha

4 technically separate Plotlines split between 5 Unique POV's (not to mention at least a half dozen side characters in each) so far is LOT so soon, especially when there's about to be a new one added here in like 20 pages LMAO

This book is so damn good.

I'll admit I'm a tad worried about how it'll be resolved since the climax is considered the weakest part of the book by many and some I've heard have said the end is a bit rushed.

I hope it doesn't disappoint too much after how good the first 80% has been

Prose isn't my favorite here to be honest - obviously as a debut, I'm not horribly worried about it, but this is definitely the most I've noticed that particular aspect of a book I'm reading being something I'd complain about.
