I don't get the page number thing. The book I am reading has over 800 pages in it but this is telling 604?

This is probably my favorite volume in the entire series.

Can't resist starting the new year off with a little Chain of Dogs campaign across Seven Cities.

So many other books I want to read, but have to slog through the rest of this first. Maybe I should have started with the tv show?

Interesting. Took me a few pages to get in to it since it is fairly unique to what I normally read. I think I like the story so far.

A little over the top and I refuse to believe one operator is so feared and revered the world over- without ever having been shot before- but still entertaining.

Grim reading, even for me. Not going to lie, I have teared more than once after reading specific events. This needs to be read, but for me it brings back ghosts from a long time ago.

The author's political bias rears its ugly head repeatedly and the book is a read focused on what went wrong- to be fair plenty did from too many levels, but I feel a book like this should be treated as a memorial to the men depicted who gave their lives. Being an Afghan War vet myself, I am seeing a lot of ghosts reading this.

Enjoying the story but the veteran and tactician in me is screaming quietly with each decision these so called military geniuses are making.

Does anyone else feel a let down of intensity when you get about halfway through book 2 of a series? The first one ends with a bang but there is always that predictable lag in the middle book right before everything goes wrong.
