It took months for me to come back to the last 15%. Finishing this felt like a total chore.

Skimming from here if not DNFing. Sweet and cheesy to an irksome degree.

I had to go check the publishing date for this bc it read like an early write and sure enough, 2010. She’s definitely improved since then. This far in I should feel some chemistry and know both characters, but neither of those is true here. Holding out hope for a turnaround 🤞🏾

I’m a bit bored and not really feeling it. Possibly bc Olu is a total ass. Or maybe it’s the writing style. Or maybe I’m just pmsing and nothing would be good rn🤔😆

It’s almost certainly me and not the book. I just need something a little lighter atm and this one’s a bummer. But if I was in the mood for that it might be quite good 💁🏾‍♀️😆so this is a rare DNF with no rating.

And I’m about ready to tap out if the misogyny I’ve already gotten is an indication of what’s to come. Kade’s gf? A bitch and a whore. Their dad’s gf? Also a bitch whose only positive quality they surmise is her tight vag. So umm yeah. Currently I hate both MCs and low key root for their pain 🤗

Bored af. Thank goodness this is a novella, but I’m still on the verge on DNFing. It’s just sex and puppies, and while I like both of those, they don’t work for me here and I want more substance.

Also the fact that it’s taken hours for me to make it 2 more % on this book says a lot. I just keep wandering off. At one point I stopped to do a jigsaw puzzle. So yeah, this is super holding my attention 😅😂

Who the hell is Sugar Rae? *Surely* the author didn’t mean either Sugar RaY Robinson or Leonard. Surely. 😒also why does she keep pointing out these dudes drive Hiluxes- whatever tf they are??

Like the last one, this feels like a chore to get through and I can’t totally put my finger on why. Possibly bc the “comedy/humor” fails or maybe bc the characters’ inside thoughts sound the same 🤔 I dunno know what it is, but I doubt I’ll make it through this one, so it’ll be my 2nd and last JH.

What is it with “later in life” romances and those sleep inducing, pastel, watercolor looking covers?? Ugh. Also I wonder if writers know that not every 35+ single is divorced with kids/you can be older and never married. Seems they don’t so therefore I can’t get a fully grown woman in a romance without ex husband and kid drama. Awesome. 🙄🙃

If you’ve been swapping full swallow bjs, why is barebacking a big deal? If there were diseases present you’ve already ingested em, no? It’s not like pregnancy’s on the table.💁🏾‍♀️ am I missing something?

So far I hate this version of Hades, and his and Meg’s D/s relationship makes me wanna vomit. 🤢🤮 I skipped the first book in this series about jasmine and jafar, but now I’m wondering if I should’ve read it as perhaps there’s some Hades/Meg characterization in there that would’ve made either of them likable 🤔

I still don’t really like Judah -a bit of a preachy, self-absorbed drama queen- or buy why Morgan’s so into him (besides young, hot, and bendy💁🏾‍♀️) but I’ve made it this far so I guess I’ll keep trucking to the finish line.

So far I’m largely bored and don’t care much about either MC. I could just be having an off day though, so I’m just gonna pause it for a day or so before I call it a DNF.

Almost *certain* this is the first romance I’ve read where one of the H’s penises was described as short. LOL not sure why, but that’s oddly refreshing? Dear authors, the world is not populated by horse dongs. Sincerely, sexual beings everywhere. 💁🏾‍♀️😆
