Ever put a book off because you already don’t want it to end? 😅this one. I’ve loved most of this series (book 4, Gloam, Rig and Gloam’s story being my least favorite) and am genuinely looking forward to this. Maybe I’ll save it for closer to Halloween … 🤔🎃 😁

Story 1: C+

Besides bulges (70x 👏🏾), this author is also a fan of pecs (30x). Once you notice it, it’s so hard to unsee/ignore. 😆👎🏾

At 1% when the two werewolf MCs were described as having “more money than they knew what to do with”, I was warned that I’d likely hate this. But did I listen? Nooooo. No I didn’t. So this L isn’t just for the author to hold. 😅🤡🤡

Surprised I haven’t pulled a muscle with all the eye rolling I’ve done 🙄😅 this was another one I’m just happy to see end. Sigh.

So many bulges… seriously the word bulge shows up 70x. 🙃

The feral-ness was over by 45%! 🤗

Taking a break here before we enter another cringe sex scene. Not a good sign for smut 😅

I never liked either MC all that much- since Rayne’s a confessed “reforming” manipulator and whore and Mike is toxic masculinity on two feet- so it won’t hurt me to DNF this. But I’m apparently a glutton for punishment and am gonna keep trucking. 🤡🫠

So. Close. To. Tapping. Out. I took a full week off from this book, came back, and have only made it 3% before wanting to dip again. 🙃

This hasn’t been horrible, but I’m still glad it’s almost done. So much banter. Too much. And none of the sex scenes worked for me- possibly bc their dirty talk was cringe.

Ugh we have to do this? 😒Deep sighs as I mark the “evil/villainous woman” square on my MM romance bingo card- and that’s on top of what already felt like too many unnecessary comparisons between men and “females” (🙃🤬) by the essentially closeted MC. Awesome.

The book isn’t bad, but neither MC is endearing. Mike acts like he’s been snorting a testosterone & steroids combo and Rayne”s “addiction” is really just him being a user and gold digging “sex worker” but we’re supposed to be all “aww poor Rayne” and wish him a HEA. Nah. I also don’t really buy the MC’s relationship or think it’ll last. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Ok Milo grew on me, and what I initially found annoying AF has kinda turned borderline adorable 😆

Not liking Milo currently and kinda wanna punch him in the face, neuro atypical or not. He comes off as a rude judgmental robot. Hoping he changes. Soon.

Shocked I’m finishing this- even with a lot of skipping- and am so glad it’s almost over. Big YA vibes 👎🏾

Dear god this is slow…and boring. The world building is wordy and trying so hard but I still don’t feel like I know WHY several important things are the way they are. Also the “romance” here is so slow it might as well not be happening, neither MC is particularly interesting, and I’m not really feeling their connection. I AM feeling like this might be a DNF though 💁🏾‍♀️🙃

I hate when authors I’m not feeling set up a character I want to know more about. 🤦🏾‍♀️ it’s how I got suckered into this one! Shame on me. 💁🏾‍♀️but considering how glad I am for this to be almost over, I won’t be fooled a 3rd time 😅

Feels like this author wants a pulpit more than to tell a decent story. If I wanted a sermon on ish I don’t believe, I’d go to church. 🙃

This is a hot hell no mess.

Pregnant wife as villain when her husband’s off banging dudes is …a choice. 😒 I’ve put this down every time she showed up. I should probably just skim her parts from here on … currently I’m glad this was only 99¢.

Chose this specifically to read on a cruise. Found it peachy and unrealistic (not that romances are bastions of realism). Not even sure I’ll give it another chapter.

This is kinda heavy and sad, and I should probably be worried about how relatable some of the mc’s thoughts are😅, but rn it’s still one of the better things I’ve read recently…

All the good people are great and the bad people are borderline cartoony. Zero internal relationship conflict. Jude is a total Gary Stu. I’m rolling my eyes frequently. Was hoping to like it bc I’m pretty sure Arne and Levi are next but rn I wanna hard skim til the end. 💁🏾‍♀️

MC 1, Jak, is a bit of an arrogant asshole. Hopefully the author doesn’t think that’s a good thing and will remedy it soon. Otherwise I’ll be rooting for his death and not this coupling 😅

Ever feel like you deserve a prize for finishing something? Me and this book. It irked me so much it actually put me off reading altogether for a few days. Not sure why I’m determined to finish but I am. Sidenote of a thing that annoyed me: the phrase “the other man” is used 77 times in this thing. 🤦🏾‍♀️🙃

I think I give up. It’s ridiculous (the magic and shifting are more believable than the brothel or main relationship) and poorly/blandly written-simplistic and very tell-y. I feel nothing positive for these characters. At best I’m meh; at worst I hate Damien and think he’s a shallow, manipulative person whose HEA I don’t care about. Further, I’m not feeling the supposed connection between the 2 MCs. Ugh.

Putting this on pause for a sec in an effort to keep it from being a DNF. So far, so meh.
