If Wren were a woman I’d hate him/her- way too sunshiny and doormatty for my tastes. As is, I’m ready for this to be over; it’s not like we don’t all know how it’s gonna end 🙄🤷🏾‍♀️ Cinderella/Pretty Woman/swept off their feet by a rich dude stories are so not my jam. Not straight, not bi/poly, not gay. Now I know 😆

So many errors, so little characterization. The accomplished, professional 35 yo falls for the teen goth who acts 12. Why? How? Did I miss it? Bc I’m certainly not *feeling* it. Also, every scene in the HS makes me wanna skim/skip. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I bailed on non-taboo MF romances Bc egads the misogyny, but I can’t even escape it in MM?! OTT bad moms, casual misogyny from “Hs” re women’s bodies, looks, sex lives etc. abound… not enjoyable, yet so prevalent they’re spaces on my romance bingo card! Christ I’d rather there not be a single woman mentioned in a whole book than read more of that ish. If you’ve got any recs, PLEASE share. 🤗🙏🏾

Not using contractions makes written conversations sound fake and stilted. I’ve met very few people in the real world who speak that way. You? Anyway, contractions or no, I’m back from my reading break 👋🏾😊

This reads like a bad Disney Channel original movie script. Besides Sage being a Mary Sue, everything just constantly works out for everyone involved either bc of magic or Sage’s know-how in every damn thing. It’s all hella eye roll inducing, and I’m ready for it to be over.

This feels …shallow and empty. Sage is a Mary Sue if ever there was one: she’s just the best all around and everyone instantly loves her or comes to greatly respect her bc she’s the warmest, smartest, most capable woman they’ve ever known. 🙃 so far, the plot is flimsy, there’s no real conflict, and none of the characters have actual personalities. Sigh 😔

No one has ever needed to have DJ Khaled pop out and tell them how they played themselves more than Aubree does. She basically picked a spot on the floor, laid down, and got comfy being an idiot doormat for 17 YEARS. I hate it. 🤗

Aubree gets zero sympathy from me. Simpering, self sacrificing, martyr ain’t a good look. And as a 32 yo, if it takes teen peen to point out and make you realize your life is stupid, perhaps the teen is smarter than you and can do better. 💁🏾‍♀️🤗

Despite the age difference, these two seem to be roughly on the same maturity plane bc she’s immature af (not to mention a bit of a judgy, weak bish) 💁🏾‍♀️🤗
