Ooof, reading this is rough. I honestly do not care about this case or these characters...prolly not gonna add the next installment to the TBR unless the author really pulls it out of a hat here at the end.

Oh wow! A female detective giving absolutely reasonable & accurate advice about a potential conflict of interest to her partner on his questioning a couple of drag queens (regarding his missing love interest) when they are investigating several murders potentially committed by a drag queen. Yay for the voice of reason.

Of course, he'll probably just ignore the warnings what with her having real boobs 'n all.

So Joel can move out of the apartment he shares with Chance once he finds out his life-long friend is a "tranny hustler" (lovely pejorative used by other MC, a gay cop) but then feels perfectly fine living with an entire group of other hustlers, even to the point of asking to to become one?? WTF? Oh, of course there's a distinction because they aren't "dressed as women" while they do it. Ugh, transphobia.

WTF? After sex together for the first time - immediately following the first kiss that took months to happen since your guy wants to "take it slow" (*eyeroll* whatever) - the guy tells you he's just gonna stay at your apartment while you go to work...and then goes to his own home to pick up and bring back his daily toiletries and several sets of work clothes? Seriously??!??!

Okay...stalker much?

Need a Superhero read for the Shelf-A-Thon challenge...

Ugh. Already my least favorite vampire trope: having to kill. Sorry, but by the MC's own admission he can go up to a week without feeding; considering a human has approximately 10-12 pints of blood & even the smallest can easily donate a pint with no probs, then if he took a little over that each night from several sources? No killing! So, unless there's some other reason for it, I'mma stay irritated for bit.

Also, LOL, for like half the book I kept worrying about Gabe's plants...good to know he hasn't forgotten them either!

Okay, so this Booker Family thing - with the genetically modified humans like Talon? That's gonna be a book, too, right?

Less sex than I was anticipating given the nature of the story, but I'm still hooked!

Oh, wow...this part - where the Agency is setting up a good man - is just too reminiscent of some recent-ish stuff reported in the news, with the fake child prostitution ring (pizza parlor?) and knocking off people with ties to him to make it look like he's taking people out himself? Damn, these guys psychic or what?

I have to MAKE myself take breaks to pee and eat...but I refuse to go anywhere today until I am done with this book. I mean, I know I've loved just about everything by Santino so far but maaaaaaan, this one has me hooked!

Never caught my interest, and while I thought it was maybe a reaction to over-saturation in Vampire-themed books...yeah, no. I haven't read many lately and am chomping at the bit to read Bonfire and the new one, Nocturne.

You know, I wish JF Harding would narrate more of the audiobooks I want to listen to...

Okay, I'm off for a few hours. Gotta sleep sometime...as much as this irritates the crap out of me. Seriously, so much time wasted that could be used for reading instead!!

I can't even begin to describe the difference that re-releasing this & having Greg Tremblay narrate it has made in how much easier it is to follow the story. He's so good with accents and giving a distinctive voice to each of the characters...

So, I'm gonna credit having read & loved Not a Game for my sudden Fall Clean Out of all clothes I have no reasonable chance of ever wearing again. I mean, seriously - I'm sitting on 20+ pairs of pants that are 4-6 sizes too small. Sure, it would be a great accomplishment to wear them again, but highly unlikely...and I feel a bit of relief acknowledging that.

Okay, the sex there was hella hot...but can we please, please stop with the ridiculous nicknames? I know it's supposed to be funny, maybe ironic - but it's really just irritating.

A grown man should not call his lover "lamby toes" "angel face" "honey buns" "bossy boo" "corn muffin" "honey lips" and "sugar bear" all within the same scene. It threw off my enjoyment of the knotting...

*sigh* Okay, I'm actually more interested in Will's story. Does he have a book?

Oh man, if the actor did commit suicide because of his forced outing - well, that's why I absolutely hate, with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns, those kinds of magazines, newspapers, television shows and other media.

Especially those sources that take it upon themselves to be the arbiter of someone else's truth. How dare they?
