Hmmmm...I didn't think it was a "trope" per se, but this isn't the first MM Romance book I've come across where there's a Multi-Level city and your physical placement is indicative of your social class. (Where bottom dwellers are the lowest.)

I picked this because it's short and there's a bulldog on the cover. It ain't Uga, but not all English Bulldogs can be as pretty as he is! (Go Dawgs!)

Well, looks like there were translations to everything I was bitching about in the back of the book! I didn't see a table of contents or note where that was indicated - would have been nice to know that...

So, having to stop and type everything into Google for translation is getting on my last nerve. (The translation option on my Kindle isn't much help with longer passages and slang.)

Yessssh! I've been looking forward to starting this book and now I finally can! Wheeee! (Please be mega hawt sexy good at some point.)

New Year's Resolution: Winnow down the TBR to less than 2000 books.

Less than a week later: Added more than 55 books in 6 days so now it's over 3000.

Nooooo. We do not just list the definition and characteristics of Asperger's into the text of a story! How hard would it be to just have the MC consider each of the other MC's actions and maybe mentally check them off or something as he researched? Short, brief descriptions...not prefacing the inner monologue with the ones that read like it came out of the DSM V! (Or, honestly, like it came off WebMD.) Argh.

Oh God! The random apostrophe has migrated to "limit's." Twice in two sentences.

If something is not allowed, it's off "limits." NO apostrophe. This is starting to suck and the worst part is I'm really liking the already ramping up sexual tension between the MCs. No idea what the story is about, though.

(That's what I get for randomly picking a book off an appropriate list to meet a challenge category. *sigh*)

For some reason, despite the detailed character description to the contrary, I keep wanting to mentally replace Aiden with Spencer from Criminal Minds.

Argh, 4% in & there are already more than a handful of random apostrophes all in the same word: "suit's"

It's not used as a contraction or a possessive noun, both of which would make sense if it were a replacement pronoun for, say, the visiting Feeb - a
"Suit." But it's not. It's just referring to the plural of the jacket/pants combo. Which should be "suits."

I hope this isn't indicative of the editing throughout.

That team-mate/locker room talk & confessional went just a little too smoothly IMHO. Not sure if that's just the author wanting us to suspend disbelief and revel in the (relative) acceptance or if the other shoe just hasn't dropped yet...

Okay, so I'm obviously a contrary kind of bitch because if I were in charge of player PR & I knew the Network was teasing the audience w/a possible Footballer's outing, tarting it up to last a good bit of the show's pre-season airing? I'd totally call a press conference & let everyone know so that those assholes don't get to control the narrative.

Argh! I hate when I type up a comment and then hit "I'm finished!" instead of "Update Progress" because then it takes me forever to figure out how to get the book back to the "Currently Reading" shelf and remove the "Read" completion info. Of course, NOW I realize all I had to do was probably click "Cancel Changes" on the review page to take me back...

All this plotting & planning, morally corrupt sneaky-ass bullshit reminds me of some maneuvering on UnReal...a show I stopped watching after only a few episodes because I could literally feel my soul shriveling up as the drama progressed. I've never watched a lot of "reality" tv, but after seeing how the producers manipulated everything, I stopped it all.

Oh, this is gonna be bad, ain't it? I know Griffin's decision in college to break up with Zach to protect his boyfriend's future in football was a bit high-handed; but man, it would really behoove Zach to listen when Griffin says that turning in that conversational footage with his parents of finally being out will not have the results Zach thinks it will. The producers will twist that shit up into TMZ level drama...
