Must have missed it in my previous reading of this book, but General Mosby's son (?) is in this book and is unfortunately taken after his clone father rather than licentious mother. Somehow Mosby's child changed sex from the earlier book. I forgot how much I still dislike Mayou. This book is more political and less military combat and cyborgs. Probably the most political and slowest of the Legion books.

One thing that I have noticed in the later Legion books, is the disappearance of the Trooper 3. I wonder if there was something I missed in an earlier book.

So I started this book pissed at one of the primary protagonists, Vanderveen, because of her betrayal of Santana in the previous Legion book, When All Seems Lost. I am waiting to see if Vanderveen comes clean, and if Santana remains with the faithless slut. If Vanderveen comes clean, no matter how she rationalizes her behavior, then I'd respect her a little more. I might lose some respect for Santana though.

I have read this book before but it is a pleasant read. I enjoy this author's earlier works, but I have noticed that the sex is more descriptive than in later works. This books starts the Second Hudathan War.

Another good start but I am back to the end of the first Hudathan War. I don't care about reading these in order most of the time.

Being a fan of the real Foreign Legion, I have always enjoyed these books. As a bit of a history buff, I have studied most of the Legion's actions. Having served alongside the Legion overseas, I have great admiration for the Legion's soldiers. I am pleased the author of these books treats the Legion with respect, and the care it is due - shame that others have not.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this story. Few authors can combine such uncorrelated items as space ships, horse riding, fox hunting and political intrigue.

I am grateful that I went back and read the first book before continuing with this one as events and character's motivation make a lot more sense. I have always liked Moon's SciFi, but I really love her fantasy writing.

I am still enjoying this story. I have always enjoyed this author's writing. I am glad that I stopped reading Sporting Chance and read this one first as some of the events in the second book make more sense now. I could have muddled my way through this is not a JRR Martin book, but it helps to read the first book.

I accidentally started this, the second book of the Serrano series. So I am setting this book aside to read the first in the series. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed Elizabeth Moon's SciFi writings.

The story is better now that Kris in on another planet kicking ass. Wish there was a little more about the tech the Marines and squids are using, but there is enough to be tantalizing without bogging the story down with minutia. Still a decent read, but I am glad that I got the book from Paper Back Swap, as otherwise, I might not have tried this author.

This book started well with some good military action. The action is not as fast nor as in depth as some other military SciFi but still good enough. Unfortunately, after the military action the book has bogged down in political wrangling. I found myself skipping some text to get to the meat of the action as the political machinations are somewhat boring. Here's hoping the book gets better sometime soon.

I was expecting the Avatari to return, so I was not surprised to see the aliens taking back planets the humans liberated. Be interesting to see if Wayson saves Ava or if she dies a horrible, flaming death when the Avatari ignite the atmosphere of her planet. Wayson is generous to someone who oculd not even last a week before spreading her legs for someone else - me, I'd let her cook. Maybe Nero and I are similar.

I have read all the "Remaining" series. It is funny that in both books I am reading now, the hero has either been dumped or dumped his SO. Things come in threes, so who is next to get dumped?

Another good start to another Harrison story. I am not surprised that Ava dumped Wayson for a civilian. Very few women are suitable partners for military men. It takes a rare woman to put up with military life. Ava was not cut out for military life; Wayson is better of without Ava. Also the author is not ready for Harris to ride off into the sunset with his "happy ever after" yet. There are some more clone books yet.

So I decided a change in reading was due. I have been reading almost nothing but SciFi now for several months. Decided to read a little fantasy. Grabbed this book at the library book sale. Started well with an intriguing protagonist - I'll see how the rest of the story goes.

This is a good story so far and proves that even a loyal, loving dog will bite you if you kick it enough times. The Ava Gardner clone was an interesting twist. Some might not like how Gardner is portrayed as a conniving, manipulative bitch, but it fits the predicament that the clone finds herself in. As the only female clone (so far), what would you expect her to do?

Took a chance on this ebook. Fairly decent story featuring the Fae courts (Summer & Winter) and a human foundling that is Mab's assassin. Some gritty combat, sexually fluid main character, hinted at but no graphic sex, and a few demons mixed in.

So Wayson is conscripted back in uniform as a Marine officer again. Story starts slow with Wayson fighting in the Iron Man challenges where he killed one Allen Boyd clone and screwing tourist girls.

Still a good post-apocalypse story with a slightly different cause. Thought the encounter with the cannibals could have been a little more detailed - it was a little abrupt and felt like the author wanted to move the story along rather than delve into a side story a little more. No profanity or graphic sex, but lots of violence, and brutal treatment of people.

Work has been interfering with my reading. The story is moving along at a crisp pace. I like that Wayson is back in uniform as a Marine again, but has been busted down to Master Gunnery Sargent from Colonel. As a retired soldier, I think such a change in rank unlikely, but hey this is fiction, and Wayson getting booted or sent to the brig would not be nearly as entertaining.
