Another great entry into the Vatta War series. Ky's family has been decimated by the attacks on her family. But at last she has a name to who might be leading the attacks. Now possessing two ships, Ky attempts to trade, and gather allies to attack the person that attacked her family.

I have enjoyed this series and have liked how Ky has matured. It will be interesting to see if the fallout from getting tossed from the academy towards the end of Ky's last year will be. I am disappointed to realize that I do not have the next book in this series.

I have not read the Histories in a long time, perhaps I should again. This book however goes through the histories, page by page, describing the area during Herodotus's time and then what it is today (or was a couple of years ago). I had forgotten how preoccupied Herodotus was with sex and how many times and different forms of sex are mentioned in the Histories.

I have always loved Elizabeth Moon's writing - both her fantasy and her science fiction stories. This one starts off with a bang. No good deed ever goes unpunished - and poor Vatta gets it with both barrels after stepping in it royally. Be interesting to see how things develop with Hal now that Vatta is tossed out on her ass from the Fleet.

I have always like how the husband and wife team of Eddings have written fantasy. I have read nearly every book written by them, and will continue to do so (at least until they write a turkey).

Time to read something a little more thought-provoking. I've been reading a lot of escapist lit, so maybe time to feed my brain something intelligent and thoughtful.

Ever since I read The Cat Who Walks Through Walls, I have loved talking cat characters. Eddings does not disappoint with the talking cat, who also happens to be a goddess.

So I have been on a steady SciFi kick for a while now. Decided to read some fantasy from a pair of authors whose previous works I have liked.

So I saw the horrible Vin Diesel movie a few years ago and hoped that the book was much better. I was right - the book is far better than the awful movie, which is usually how it goes.

As I read more books by this author, he is getting better. Several scenes of good action in this book with a lot less politics than previous books. More ass kicking, less political BS is a much better read. I like how this "most deadly thing on 2 legs" is also fragile in some ways and vulnerable in ways that a regular person is not.

Well I got my answer and I am not surprised that Cassie ended up in bed with Ari. The author gave enough clues that was likely to happen that I would have thought he might have changed it just to do the unexpected. I wonder if Cassie with remain only with Ari or continue her usual poly leanings having several lovers again like she did when she was in the League.

Another story of a supposed deranged Marine sniper, I wonder if the next book follows the same plot line.

Loved the part where Sandy ripped through town doing 350 kph on a crotch rocket. Finally an author that gives an AI proper talent for faster-than man riding and evading. Story gotten better looking forward to pissed off Sandy armed with military hardware bent on revenge.

Story is still clipping along at a good pace. I like how Sandy has reunited with one of her former platoon members. I also like how despite his training the new GI did not just jump immediately to join Sandy and defect from the League. The new GI did jump immediately into bed with Sandy though. Some good action, with a FIA group attempting to direct the coup of the Tanushan government.

Book is getting better, with some interesting action with a little politics thrown in for good measure. I like how the GIs refer to each other by their series number.

This has been a good read so far. It is not on the level of Heinlein's Friday, but I definitely see similarities. Sandy is not bisexual (at least hasn't tried yet) unlike Friday. Sandy was made as a weapon of war rather than as a clandestine courier like Friday. Still a good read. So far, not worthy of a second read or adding to the library.

A fairly good story so far with a little action and a little suspense. A lot of world building and scene setting, but not badly written.

This book, I have read, was in a similar vein as Heinlein's Friday. I can see some similarity with Friday, as Cassie is a synthetic person and has a high libido as did Friday. Cassie is also very beautiful, likes one night stands, and likes sex any time. The book starts rather slow with lots of telling about the city of Callay. After the first chapter, poor Cassie gets dismembered, and the book kicks into high gear.
