Okay, after a looksie, I'd say Hex by Thomas Olde Heuvelt and Burial Rites by Hannah Kent in close second. Big Little Lies on audio was also extremely memorable. I read a lot of mediocre things this year, with some good nonfiction interspersed. November and December were terribly slow reading months. What was your favorite this year? Happy New Year:-) xo
Lol, I start asking myself what was the best book I read so far in January and then each book I read gets compared to whatever the current front-runner is, so at any point in the year I am ready to state my favorite. It's a quirk I suppose. I always love asking my literary friends this question at the end of the year. I swear it is the best source of book discovery! Mine was either And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer, a short but powerful novella that can squeeze a tear from even the blackest of hearts, or The House of Special Purpose, an enthralling and beautifully written historical fiction novel about the last Tsar and his family.
