Julia | 11782 comments I'd prefer Christy had no role in future books. Her daughter spent a lot of the book apologizing for her toxic Mom to Mercy. That was sad.

HNR.

*This book was a cheapie that I downloaded to my Kindle. I didn't expect much, but I found it surprisingly good. More traditional fantasy than urban fantasy. I have already downloaded the second and third books in the trilogy to my Kindle and hope to get to them in future months.

No, but it's on my tbr list.

Also, I finished Bitter Spirits and it is paranormal romance rather than urban fantasy. I assumed it was urban fantasy because Jenn Bennett's last series fell into that genre. It was very good, but is perhaps not what interests you.

HYR Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell ?

Julia | 11782 comments I answered this days ago, but my response went away.

I HNR Shattered, but I have read the first 4 books in the series. I like them, I just fell out of the Atticus habit, for a bit. I intend to go back.

HYR Written in My Own Heart's Blood by Diana Gabaldon Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8) by Diana Gabaldon , which implies reading the other seven books that came before it in the Outlander series?

HNR any of the books in the Outlander series.

Loved Shattered, but Kevin Hearne introduced a new major character who enables the reader to examine Atticus' actions from a different perspective. Any more would be a spoiler.

HNR And Then There Were None, although I do enjoy movies and series made from Agatha Christie's books.

message 323: by Julia (new)

Julia | 11782 comments I've so far read 47 pages of And Then There Were None, and don't recommend it. If you've seen the movies, you've got it... I'm continuing to read it, but unhappily. (It's for my real- life book club.)

Agents of Artifice sounds neat! I don't play Magic the Gathering, but apparently that's not a barrier to enjoying this novel. As Richard said here in his review, "Agents of Artifice is a book made of win and awesome and you should all go buy it." HNR.

I was going to say I haven't heard of this, but I've put it on my TBR list... Have you read it? HNR.

I love that whole sub-genre of books like Speak, Cut, Sold and others.
