Stephanie Tuell (booksloveme) i've seen this on other book sites and since no one has started one here, i thought i would give it a shot.

The game officially starts January 1st 2008, but You can still join! Anyone can join at any time!

The challenge is to read one author for each letter of the alphabet in 2008 ... a great way to find new authors that you might not otherwise read. You can start with any letter of the alphabet, and you can use first or last names. However you want to challenge yourself! Be creative! :)

Anyone can join in at any time ... as long as you think you can read 26 authors of each letter of the Alphabet by 12/31/08!

In order to keep track, please create a post with your alphabetical list when you're ready to begin. Then update that post as you move through the alphabet! I'll create mine now as an example.

You can add the books as you go, or as you finish them. You can Make a list of books that you want to read, and then check them off. However you want to do it! :) Just have fun, and explore new authors!

Let the Games begin! Good luck and hunting to all! :)

Sera What a cool idea! Count me in. I'm going to fill in the letters as I go and make book choices on what I still have open. This is going to be fun and fits right in with my goal to read 40 books by October.

message 4: by Michelle (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:13PM) (new)

Michelle (literarilyspeaking1) Sounds very cool and ambitious... I may have to give it a shot...

However, I'm getting the feeling (not sure on this one) that finding an author with a last name beginning with X will be a bit difficult...

message 5: by Bree (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:13PM) (new)

Bree (coffeebeanbookshelf) Sounds fun...I'm in! I have plenty of authors to choose from that start with most of those letters...I will need to think hard for Q and X, though!

message 6: by Lori (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:17PM) (new)

Lori (tnbbc) I will absolutely give this a shot, and as those before me have mentioned, some of the letters of the alphabet will be a bit tough to hit on.... We may end up reading some of the same books for the letters Q,X,Z.....

message 7: by Stephanie (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:19PM) (new)

Stephanie Tuell (booksloveme) i'm sure we will all get ideas from other members. i can't wait to start.

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I am sorry. It is just Xu Xi not Xu, Xi. I guess people could tell what I meant. I just wanted to clear it up for me.

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I am now reading Northanger Abbey - A - Jane Austen. Directly after that I will read Waiting for Godot - B - Samuel Beckett.

message 44: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) In my author list, I have changed my P from Plath, Sylvia to Palahniuk, Chuck - Choke.

message 45: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) In my title list, I am changing my B from Bridge of Sighs to Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Copote. I am doing this because I never finished Bridge of Sighs.

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) In my title list, I am changing my E from Emma to The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe. I am doing this because I am having a terrible time with the drudgery of getting through Northanger Abbey and cannot read another Jane Austen novel for a long time.

message 47: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) In my author list, I am changing my A from Jane Austen - Northanger Abbey to Aesopus - Aesop's Fables. I just couldn't even force myself to read one more word of Northanger Abbey.

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I just finished my B in my author list. Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. I loved it. The banter was hysterical. It is very well-written, and the characters are great. Five stars!!
