Review: This is the second book in a series. The first book was inspired by Jane Austen’s novels. The romantic tension is absent from this book and the story suffers thereby. I would have liked a different ending. Still, it’s a good read, and I’ll most likely read the next installment when it comes out next year. Recommended for those who read and enjoyed the first book, Shades of Milk and Honey.

Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie

I listened to this on audio while re-painting my bedroom. While I didn’t choose this book for that particular task, I highly recommend the little Belgian detective as a painting companion. The mystery was great for breaking up the monotony, and its hard to be sloppy with Poirot in the room.

Thanks for the congrats :-) It was so fun having the chain and no question of which book to read next, I couldn't wait to finish them up! I know that in the past there was a +100 bonus, but when I reviewed the "Completion Bonuses" section for this cycle, it only had the +100 listed for RwS completion and +200 for the MegaFinish, no mention of bonus for TDoS completion. I figured it was because the point assignment for each book was quite generous...

Review: David, a 16 year old boy has adventures in the Scottish Highlands in 1751, just 6 years after the Scottish defeat at Culloden. I looked on the internet and found out that several of the individuals in this novel actually existed, and some of the events described actually happened. The novel was told in a boy’s adventure tale manner. Recommended.
