10.6 Middle Name Day
Savannah Blues by Mary Kay Andrews
30.2 What I Want to be vs. What I Became
Real Murders by Charlaine Harris - Growing up, I wanted to be a librarian. All my childhood books still have the little library cards taped in the front from when I played librarian. Aurora Teagarden, the protagonist of Real Murders, is a librarian.
Oxygen by Carol Cassella - Currently, I am a medical research assistant in the Department of Family Medicine at a state university. My boss, for whom I do research, is a physician and her primary interst is "Patient Safety." Safety meaning that the patient is treated appropriately, that the correct tests are ordered, that the tests are carried out, that there are no false positives, that the patient doesn't slip between the cracks. Oxygen features a physician who makes a fatal error during an operation and spends the book trying to figure out what went wrong, essentially patient safety research.

Book 1: I chose option 2, to read a book where the main character embarks on a new stage of life. I read The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes. In this book the main character, Tony, has just retired and throughout the novel is coming to realizations about what his former life really meant for him. I think the book blurb (can be read via the link above) says it all as far as cleansing and embarking on a new stage.
Book 2: I chose option 6, to read a book with a page number count ending in 6 or 7. I read West of Here by Jonathan Evison. My copy has 486 pages.
