How large is your TBR list? Does it have a mind of its own?
What control Brenda….I have no control over my TBR list and my ‘buying addiction’I’ve got 180 books on my TBR list and 50 books at home ‘unread’. I have no idea how I’m going to get through them....lol
I went through a time where I didn't read anything yet I still bought books! :/ So, I'm trying my hardest to catch up on those plus all the books I have since purchased!!In terms of my TBR I really like to cull it every so often. GR makes it so EASY for the pile to grow and grow and without thinking you've got 1000s on there (I never got that bad though..lol).
My TBR only stands at 167 but this doesn't include magazines/comics I've yet to read...ooooops! lol

Laura, you should add all your mags/comics (just for interests sake!) and tell us how many O.o!!

Haha guess I don't control it I just read three books at a time. It's so annoying cause I just changed schools and they have a massive library, but i can't read any till I finish the ones I have at home :( lately I have been buying heaps on my iPad too so my tbr list is growing …

Adding it up was a terrible idea....ahahahah..omg XD Atleast I no longer purchase magazines except my beer subsciption so I won't truely be adding to the 158 unless it's comics.@Mish yes, yes, it is! lol

@Ash Yeah having control over purchasing on an ipad or other reading devices can make it feel like you own less (in a strange sense).
However, it's only been lately I've been telling myself 'It's not a bargin or a good deal if I never get around to reading it because by the time I'm ready it'll probably be cheaper.' I have the same thought pattern when buying games as well.

Ok so it sounds like I am the worst at keeping my TBR shelf under control! It's currently hovering around the 1200 mark! 0_oI just keep thinking of it in years... Approx 12 yrs reading there!
It certainly does have a mind of its own though!!

I don't really pay attention to my to-read list unless I'm looking got books to read. Because I have two to-read lists; one for all the books I'm interested I reading the other is all the books to read that are sitting on my book shelf

Well I have had a kindle for 2 years I think... I got it for Xmas in 2009. Haven't put it down yet. Hubby says its the best and worst present he gas bought me. He loves that I love it , but he said at times he feels like he's got a bit of a ghost for a wife... Always off in some far off fantasy land!

Well, I'll see how many I've got on mine in 2 years...lol I'm still loving paper books, have heaps of them here to read, but got the kindle for when we travel, and it drops the weight dramatically. It'll be awesome for our up coming trip on the Indian Pacific, then flying home:)
Certainly is fantastic for travel. I am off to Africa soon, so that 20+ hr flight will hopefully make a bit of a dent in my TBR shelf!!

I have 20 to read on here so far, but each time I'm on here I add a few. The list is going to get too big and I'll never read them all!

So we're in the process of packing the house to move and I took this opportunity to catalogue my physical books while I pack them... currently TBR list is well over 1300 now and I still have easily another 100 or so left to catalogue! Eeep!

Now my TBR (ToBeRead) list is well over 400, with over 100 actual paper books on my home shelves to be read, and over 80 on my kindle to be read!!!!!
How does everyone control their TBR lists, how do you get them read....is it multiplying overnight, and you can't remember where they came from?;D
