You and Your Books!

How large is your TBR list? Does it have a mind of its own?
Usually if a book stays on my TBR list for years then I delete it because I have forgotten why I put it on the list in the first place.

That is the same for me...And I also take it that I wasn't THAT interested in the book in the first place otherwise I'd already own it.

I love real books too Bette, but love my kindle for the convenience as well:)

I just had a sort of all my owned paper books....
I knew it was high, but here, now, unread and crying out for attention are 242 paper books that I own, plus 8 borrowed books as well!!!! I don't think I missed any;) And I am not going to count my owned, unread kindle books!!

No I am NOT going to do that Michael - not right now - I just don't want to know...but I guess as my TBR is over 900 and most of them are owned, it'd be safe to say I own more kindle than paper though;P

No I dont have a problem - MUCH!!!! :)
Doesnt matter, could have a lot worse of an addiction than book buying.
Oh dear Zoey..we're a worry aren't we! But you're right, this is an addiction I don't mind having;)

My first book read this year, The Carpet Makers, is a book that wasn't on my TBR list. Off to a good start >.>

Atleast you are starting with an awesome book. SFF mod (Kim) force that one upon you too?

Lol...such willpower Liam! :)

Yessum. Loving the monthly reads over there :P

Lol, that's a "novel" approach Suzanne! ...excuse the pun ;)

He he! I need serious help ;)

If it makes you feel any better Brenda my unread TBR list numbers in the thousands. In total I have approx 2790 books, just over 1500 in print and the rest digital, and add more every month! Probably a good half of that total are unread

From now till 31st December I will only obtain free copies of books, use gift vouchers purchased for me for birthdays/xmas, and review copies.
Add to that, that every reading challenge I do this year will be completely constructed of books I already own, I am hoping to have my TBR under 1300 by this time in 2016.
It will be a challenge, but I'm up for it.

Good luck Lynxie! Sounds like a good plan:)

As long as I read more than I buy I'm happy.

That's a great idea Suzanne! If you get three or more ppl who suggest you give a particular book a miss you could consider removing it. I often think about this when I 'compare books' with someone and see they have marked a book I hated as to-read.

It would be fun to do but I bet for every person who tells you to dump a book another person will tell you you must read it at once because it is fantastic:)

The best way is to find those friends who have a very similar reading style and dump those that they hated. LOL.

Lol! :) there is as much pleasure to be had in seeking out and buying as in reading them Dana :D

I totally agree, I will now only answer to the title of
"The Book Hunter". LOL

I can't have too many, otherwise I get stressed and panic that I don't have enough time to read them all....
This group heightens my anxiety as so many books are brought to my attention and I'm like 'so many books, so little time, aaaarrrgghhh'.

I swear my books breed while I'm not looking

It is quite easy when you raid the freebies on kindle Laura :) It's also a bit of an addiction. hehe"
Oh yeah! Those freebies certainly make it TBR climb very quickly..lol
I try to be careful with my Kindle TBR list...I think I'm going okay with it. I've only splurged a few times since owning my 2nd Kindle.
