Only 89. If I can't remember why a book is on the list I delete it. And my memory isn't really good:)
Oh and I only really acquire books when I am ready to read them so my list is really that. Just a list, not actual books. Or not many anyway......

If I did that then that list would be about 25:)

They multiply while we are sleeping! The scary part about mine is that I own most of them;)

You are obviously a lot younger than me:)

Just realised a few of the books I culled were from the NPR Top 100 SFF list that I'm trying to work through... now need to figure out which ones I'm missing!Damn it I knew I didn't do this for a reason.

I'm 55, so not young but not on the scrap heap either.

I've just come back from seeing The Second Best Marigold Hotel and I feel quite young compared:)

Sandra wrote: "I own most of my tbr, at the moment its 3869. A lifetime of reading to look forward to :)"Oh, that makes me feel a whole lot better about my 571 tbrs!
My tbr is hovering around 1250, too big. I have been culling on and off lately, but still keep adding, and recs from friends, charity shop purchases etc etc. It's fun though, I'll never read them all!
I love having the freedom to read whatever I feel like, no waiting except for those not yet published :)
Sarah wrote: "Actually, mine would be longer if I did that. I don't put everything in my TBR..."Same here - but nearly every book on my TBR pile are actually in my possession - 293 of them. The ones that are on my want to read shelf but aren't in my possession are those on my wish list shelf - which is sitting on about 18 right now - and my preordered shelf which is 6. Which means 269 books are actual books I possess :)
It would be nice if you could have a wish list shelf that is not counted towards your TBR list though.

That sounds very organised Sally. I don't keep count of my physically owned ebooks and paperback in my tbrs as they tend to just keep magically increasing. My tbr list is more of a wish list that in reality I'll probably never get to (unless I'm bedridden with some horrible condition for the next 10 years!)
Sally906 wrote: "It would be nice if you could have a wish list shelf that is not counted towards your TBR list though."You can seperate them. I have my wish list as one of my top shelves. When you add a book you can choose either want to read or wish list.
My 316 books on my to read are books I own and my wish list are books I would like to buy and I look there if I am going to treat myself with a book.

Sounds like a good idea - I might have to reorganise my tbrs as you suggest. Could be a nice wet weekend project!

I never realised this was what the wish list is for...........
Catsalive wrote: "What wishlist? or do you have to make your own?"Make a new shelf named wish-list then go to edit shelves and tick exclusive. When you add a book you can then pick to read OR wish list.

Thank you - I never knew this, now my wish list doesn't get added to my TBR - woo hoo I'm a happy vegemite :)

Thanks Veronica, this also showed me how to remove and edit some of my misspelled shelves at the same time ;)
Phrynne wrote: "By the way it is a very good movie."I agree with both those posts Phrynne. DH and I saw it last week and enjoyed it. Maggie Smith was a gem.
My TBR is 699. Took some books off it recently but then added more so it's about the same as it was.

I just took your advice Veronica, thanks for the info ;)
Suzanne wrote: "I just got my list down to 1200!! It was my goal to get it to that point today ;)"
Now you need to get it under 1000;)

Too true Brenda. Maybe I can aim for 100 books a week. I don't find it hard culling them, just time consuming :)
Sometimes I just cull the oldest ones. I reckon if I have not got around to them yet I am obviously not that keen.
The only ones I don't cull is the ones I own, and most of the ones on my TBR I do own!! My "wish list" is the only one I can cull from:)
