You and Your Books!

How large is your TBR list? Does it have a mind of its own?

Oh wow! That's awful! So good you had some helpful people nearby. You take care, and get better quickly...enjoy reducing your TBR while you can;)

But I can't go past a book store without having a look and it doesn't help that most of the authors I love write series rather than standalone books. I'm not going to count actual books - there are too many!! But I'd have a few hundred unread :( I wish I could take a year off to catch up on my reading.

I think we are all a bit like that! I'll have to live to at least 150 to read all of mine;)

It is a neverending battle :) a good one though.

I often forget what made me add a book to my list - I wish the GR app let you type private comments about books because I could keep track that way. I guess I could have different shelves for different recommendations, but I think I'd end up with lots and lots of shelves, some with only a few books on them. Does forgetting why you wanted to read a book annoy anyone else? And if so, how do you manage it?

Reading/Books - finally, a habit I don't have to give up!
My TBR is at a modest 150 and I no longer fret at it growing.

I have my shelves as authors or series at the moment, but when adding to my TBR list if I don't have the book yet, it also goes on my wish list. A friend told me that it's too much work to maintain lol, I don't agree! I do look forward to an update for the app though, I cant insert a link to the book I'm talking about, which would be handy!

Hehe! I, personally, am not unimpressed. The new photo is of a Lynx and s/he looks unimpressed.

And I'm sure by this time next month it will have doubled again.
But I do love finding new books and authors :)

It's scary how fast it grows isn't it Sharon!

It sure is Brenda :)
Of course if I stayed off this site that would help. But not likely to happen ;)

Yes I think so you will Liam. Other wise it will be as big as Brenda's :)

omg! And I thought mine was big. You're going to be 'buried' in books at home as well as work.

I assure you Liam that it is entirely possible to have a TBR list as big as or bigger than Brenda's :)

I hope I NEVER have as many as you on mine Lynxie!!! lol

I can't keep up with all my books. I just can't anymore. Now that I'm sent so many review copies from publishers I keep discovering I've missed release dates by weeks or months because I forgot - or didn't have time - to read the things!
The other day I read a book I actually bought for myself. It was the first one of its kind in a long time!

I blame the awesomeness that is GoodReads and the freebies on Amazon! My TBR list is back over 1600 now, but only just...

@Brenda & @Lynxie: omg, a TBR that long would overwhelm me:)

And it is really scary, originally they thought I broke the bony part around my eye (my eye socket) because it was so bruised and swollen. But when they did a CT scan I hadn't broken any bones. The swelling has gone right down and it has only been 4 days since I was discharged. Still alot of bruising. But it looks worse than it is. I went to see an optometrist just in case on Wednesday. If my eye is still very blood shot next week then I have to go back. Not sure what they will do though.
