Lynxie | 715 comments Much easier to store than paper books!! I think all up I probably have around 400-500 in books, the rest are now electronic! I had to do a big clean out when I got my kindle!! Just so much easier to carry around several hundred books with you when they are on the kindle :)

My TBR list is 130-odd books, but my to-reread-and-review list is the one I'm having trouble getting through! :(

I don't re-read many books, as I have a huge amount of books still to read, and haven't the time to re-read...LOL

Lynxie | 715 comments I am a bit like you Brenda, I don't re-read a lot of books, unless they blew me away or I didn't quite get it...

Having said that, my re-read shelf is steadily growing, but at a much, much slower rate than the books I'm getting read.

One of the books that did make it to my re-read shelf (and I've actually re-read 4 times) is Body Rides by Richard Laymon

Lynxie | 715 comments what can I say?! I am a sucker for punishment :P

It certainly isn't for the younger generation though. It can be quite explicit in both adult nature and in regard to violence, which is sooo opposite to what I like to read. Oh well :)

As long as you enjoy it Lynxie;D

message 58: by Neko (new)

Neko I have no time to re-read books because of what I have to already read that's never been read before D: Sometimes I wish I could though.

message 59: by Khenan (new)

Khenan Bragador | 140 comments I re-read maybe.. 20 books each year :) normally the HP series.. then some diff Roald Dahl and stuff. (Each time a new book within a series comes out i re-read all the books before.. no use reading if you're not totally 'in' the books :D) Luckily most of those re-reads, the first reading happened before i started on Goodreads so hurray its counted as new :D.

The worst things for TBR is those pesky lists. I went through the 'best mystery list' a while ago and couldn't help adding every single on to my TBR... :P I think half the fun of reading is finding new books to read, and researching!

Meh i have another 70 or so years to read so i don't mind to keep adding ;D

message 71: by Nicki (new)

Nicki Markus (nickijmarkus) | 168 comments I am feeling very proud as I have my print tbr pile down to 2 books. E-books-wise I am currently reading my last outstanding ARC from NetGalley (though I just requested one more). I was just gifted a few e-books by a friend though, so I will have those to move onto next.

message 77: by Lynxie (new)

Lynxie | 715 comments Woo! Started on the gifted e-books from authors well and truly now, but... I went and posted that I'd do reviews for a copy of the book, and I've had to add another 18 books to my TBR list. It's still sitting at 1530, but I've managed to read 5 books (currently on #6) since I've been travelling (just over two weeks now) gotta love those long plane rides!

I'm hoping to get to #10 before I get home... not that it'll impact my TBR list, I have another 7 books from authors in my inbox that I still need to add - oh dear! A reader's work is never done :D

message 78: by Angela (new)

Angela (ambience) Mine has 30 odd books on it so far, but it grows everyday as I only joined up the other day!!

message 81: by Karen (last edited Jul 20, 2012 04:29AM) (new)

Karen (kazzakrisanna) | 13 comments I have hundreds on my TBR too. My husband is not a reader and doesn't see the attraction, oh well - his loss. What can I say, I'm addicted to reading and now I have a Kindle there's no hope for me

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

124 books and yes mine does have a mind of its own

message 83: by Mish (new)

Mish | 3601 comments My overall TBR list is still growing and will continue to grow but I’m going to see if I can at least reduce the pile of TBR on bookshelf which currently sits on 71.

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

475--up about twenty books from when I logged on this morning. Not even trying to resist anymore. Impossible. I'm learning not too order in too many from the library at once though. Sometimes it takes months for them to come in, other times they all arrive together!

message 85: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

I hate it when that happens Gina...I have 3 here from the library, and 3 waiting at the library!! Plus soooo many here to read that I own as well!! O.O!!!

message 86: by Katie (new)

I am very strict and don't let my list get over 20. I find that once a book has been on my kindle or on the shelf unread for a few months I lose interest and probably never read it.I also read very fast which helps a lot.

message 91: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 79989 comments Mod
Wow!! I culled about 150 off my list a few months ago, now it's right up there again!!

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 60 comments Wow, what a comfort seeing I'm not the only one. I have a combined kindle and DTB TBR of about sixty books and i fully intend to read them all. I wonder if this phenomenon is a product of the internet book forums where we all encourage each other with great recommendations and the ability to talk to other like minded book addicts. One of the positives of social media but my bank account may not agree. LOL>

message 93: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 79989 comments Mod
Ha! I think we may all be the same Lisa!

message 94: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Higgins | 105 comments I have 87 on my TBR list. I don't pay that much attention to the Recommendations list. However I asked some people a few months ago about book suggestions and ended up with about 70 books on my TBR list.

message 95: by Sharnie (last edited Sep 12, 2012 06:53AM) (new)

Sharnie | 10 comments I physically own around 280 books, not including the two mystery boxes yet to be unpacked. My to read list is in the mid 2000s last I checked, I have a bad habit of wanting to read everything, because I worry i'll forget the details of whatever catches my fancy

message 96: by Zoey (new)

Zoey (rozannen) | 1045 comments I have a Yet to buy or Borrow list which seems to get bigger every day & I have 102 actually on my shelves waiting to be read. That includes around 20ish that have been lent to me by friends. My plan is to get that right down before purchasing anymore. Yeah right, heard that before :)

message 97: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 79989 comments Mod
Wow Sharnie and Zoey! I agree with your observation Zoey, as I've said the same thing before myself!! Won't happen! lol
Yours is massive Sharnie...I thought mine was bad at over 700!!

message 98: by Lynxie (new)

Lynxie | 715 comments Wow - someone who has more books on their list than me! I never thought I'd see the day!

I don't have too far to go to reach you though Sharnie... my TBR list is around 1650 at the moment.

message 99: by Sharnie (last edited Sep 12, 2012 06:22PM) (new)

Sharnie | 10 comments The worst thing for me though is that I genuinly want to read all of them, but I know that books enter the list at a much faster rate than I could ever read them... Also, until last night I thought it was normal XD

message 100: by Lynxie (new)

Lynxie | 715 comments Me too Sharnie. I plan for about 16yrs of reading at my current rate to get through the whole lot... but that of course would only be if I didn't add anymore!

So not going to happen I'm afraid!
