Leah (flying_monkeys) | 45 comments Would someone please remove the following books from Can't Wait Books of 2019? I created the list but I guess I'm only allowed to check for duplicates. Once these are deleted I'll post a comment to the list letting everyone know.

Pawns of Warby Elizabeth May https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Published in 2018
The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air #1) by Holly Black https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Renske | 12220 comments 455 Done, except for The King's Questioner. The only edition that had 2018 as publication date had no other information, all editions with an ISBN have 2019 as publication date. So I merged the duplicate and didn't remove it form the list.

This novel is not a novel where the Female lead is the protagonist (Main Character).

Emma | 74 comments In the List I created for works written before the common era (BCE), someone added The Mark of Wu, written not so long ago, but dealing with BCE events.
There are lots of other lists in which The Mark of Wu would fit, but not in a list for 2000+ year old writings.
Could someone please remove it?
Thank you!

Can you please remove Rivers of London Volume 6
Rat Queens Special: Neon Static Vol. 1
Rat Queens, Vol. 5: The Colossal Magic Nothing (Rat Queens, #5)?

I can't determine if the first one has black leads and the other two are more ensemble casts with a token black character which was not the intention of the list.

Hello! Could someone please remove these from the Old Hollywood Women list above:

- Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between by Lauren Graham. (Graham's first movie appearance was in 1997... nothing Old Hollywood about that.)

- The Forgotten Flapper: A Novel of Olive Thomas by Laini Giles, since the listmaker asks that no fiction books be added

Thank you!

Audrey's Picture Books | 28 comments Please remove:

Sulwe by Lupita Nyong'o (#18) from this list:

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

The book features a protagonist from Kenya and therefore does not fit the list's stated goal of featuring protagonists who are neither black nor white. (I initially intended to read the book, to see if its protagonist belongs to another underrepresented category, but found it has not yet been published.)

Audrey's Picture Books | 28 comments Please remove the following books from this list:

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Pink and Say by Patricia Polacco (#191)
Louisa May and Mr. Thoreau's Flute (#244)
The Making of a Knight by Patrick O'Brien (#259)
When the Shadbush Blooms by Carla Messinger (#282)
The Yellow Star: The Legend of King Christian X of Denmark by Carmen Agra Deedy (#292)

These are fiction:

Little Rabbit's Christmas by Harry Horse (#191)
What's for Dinner? by Penelope Anne Cole (#191)
Sunshine's Excellent Adventures by Reggie and Anita Hill (#191)
Santa's Last Present by Marie-Aude Murail (#232)

The Santa Trap by Jonathan Emmett (#259)
In the Snow by Elizabeth Spurr (#282)

Audrey's Picture Books | 28 comments Regarding the list referenced in 471 (Best non-fiction picture books):

There are several books on the list that fall into a gray area. The list's creator seems to have been seeking picture book non-fiction in a pretty strict sense (given the prohibition on historical fiction). Later contributors, however, have taken that to mean "books with a didactic purpose." Many books on the list are, strictly speaking, works of fiction. They appear to have been included, because they can be used in unit plans on specific topics. One such book features an anthropomorphic Pluto, who is upset at his reclassification as a dwarf planet. He decides to argue the matter with earth's astronomers and meets various other solar system objects on his journey. I would not consider these books nonfiction. My inclination is to get them taken off the list, which would then be reserved for actual works of non-fiction (which appears to have been the original purpose of the list). The presence of several Christmas stories indicates that users haven't been particularly scrupulous about the books they've proposed. Does Goodreads have an established definition of "nonfiction" that could be applied here?

Hi Sandra!
Then it shold be removed as well, my mistake.
All those short stories are available in different short story collections, but I don't believe there is a Swedish edition published. Thank you!

Maraud3r | 3 comments https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Has a whole bunch of books which do fit neither the title nor description: "No loveless sex, meaning no useless one night stand. No Infidelity on the female side..."

The books of Elliot Kay, Good Intentions, Natural Consequences and Personal Demons have bona fide cuckolding, regular cheating and infidelity on the female side.

The books by P.S Powers, Mr Hartley, Alternate Places have both infidelity aswell as poly armoury with his "wives" sleeping with everyone including his best friend. His book "On the Line" doesn't even have a male protagonist and has been added anyway.

Red Moon Demonlord technically doesn't fit either. Not only is it mostly one night stands and casual sex, where the list excludes this in favour of genuine romance. The women involved also have other male lovers.

Sam Ryder's The Monsterworld Saga in general does not fit. Not a single book. There is no romance or deeper relationship between any of these characters. It's a world of casual sex, where everyone gets it on with everyone, nobody is ever jealous and sex is given as a reward by the goddesses who effectively act as divine prostitutes.

Sorry for bringing up so many books at once. It just seems that people either don't care about the description or that the list hasn't been checked in quite some time. A large ammount of books which go outright against the description have slipped in.

Audrey's Picture Books | 28 comments Any thoughts on this book?

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

It is included in the Best Nonfiction Picture Book list found here:

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Any Christian would surely consider it nonfiction, but its purpose appears to be inspirational, rather than informational. Personally, I tend to draw a line between books about theology, religious practice, and religious figures (which I'd consider nonfiction) and books of an inspirational or evangelistic character (which I personally wouldn't include in a list of nonfiction book recommendations). I don't want to impose my opinions on the rest of the world, but I'm not sure this book really counts as nonfiction. The description of the list isn't that informative:

"This list is for the best non-fiction picture books you know of. No historical fiction, please. Non-fiction picture books for children only."

Maraud3r | 3 comments Is there ANY chance whatsoever to get someone to look at https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Thoregon now added a bunch of books such as "Lewd Dungeon". These books DO NOT in any kind of way, shape or form qualify for the list and outright go against the description. The way things are going almost a third if not more books on the list should absolutely NOT be there.

Sandra | 31397 comments #483 Librarians are volunteers, and whilst I for one have read a lot of books, none of these ones are my genre of choice. To say "look at this list" isn't useful.

So, if you have genuine concerns please list the books you think should be deleted, and a # would also be helpful.
