Or post in the comment section of the list so the list creator, or a participating librarian, can remove the books.

Oh, I see! That's all right, I've applied to become a Librarian already, I guess I can just wait for the application to come back :) If it's not approved I might take you up on that? Thanks! ^^

This is also not a BDSM book as far as I can tell. There are specific criteria to make it BDSM.
Could someone remove it, please?

If not approved or if no new librarians currently needed...you won't hear back saying you've been turned down. You only get notified if approved (by email or you can see on your profile page under your profile photo "goodreads librarian")

Is there a way to block this book from being added repeatedly?

Thanks!

However, if someone with more authority than me says it's okay, then I'm sure it'll be taken care of.

Thalia, I understand what you are saying but when I made that list I was looking for books with characters who really didn't like each other for a while and then grew to love each other (like in Pride and Prejudice, Poison Study, Crown Duel). In those two books, there is initial hesitation among the characters but they are attracted to each other almost immediately (even if they don't admit it). I'm also tired of seeing those two books on every list. I was hoping to find some new books I hadn't heard of. I want to remove them to discourage people from voting books similar to them.

I understand. I think as list-maker, you have certain abilities over the list, but I think maybe you should wait for another librarian to let you know. When you create a list that is, essentially, opinion based and up to the judgement of the reader, we're discouraged from removing books because they're not what we would have voted from, or we don't agree. There is not specific definition for what constitues a book where the two main characters hate each other and fall in love, like there is for fiction vs. nonfiction.
So, yeah, it's the reader's call to make on how they interpret your list, and because there are no set definitions that can't be contested, I would just wait until someone with a better knowledge than me weighs in on what should be done. I know, as librarians, we're given HUGE disclaimers when editing books from a list to be absolutely sure that it does not, for any reason, belong on that list, and to not remove books that don't agree with our opinion.

From one reviewer, (but others say it's our real world also):"It is obvious from her descriptions of the European cities featured in the book that she has been there and describes the cities quite well which gives the reader a sense of being there also."
I think they are getting 'erotic fantasy' and true fantasy world writing mixed up

@namericanwordcat There is a thread here where people were reporting such listopia. You can post there or start a new thread. I don't think there is a way to flag a list (though I could be wrong).
@Cari Removed.

Hi Vicky. Thanks for removing it! I guess I'll have to relent the issue since I can't prevent people from making different interpretations of my list.
Thanks to all for their input!

I applied to become a librarian partly so I could help fix my lists but it looks like I'm not being approved from the over a week that's gone past?

I spent several hours to add the moving and very well written Holocaust-memoir "In the Face of Evil", by Tema Merback, to 28 Listopia lists.
It started out with me getting the old (inactive) edition of the book when I searched the book by the title. After adding the book to 1 or 2 lists, I noticed my mistake and searched for the book by finding the author in my list of Goodreads friends. So I got the new (active) addition (with the emblem of a book award). I then continued adding the book to suitable Listopia lists.
When I checked (going to the book and finding LISTS THIS BOOK IS ON), there were only 2 lists, that is, the ones with the old (inactive) edition. When I clicked onto the new edition, it said that the book was not listed on any Listopia lists. All my efforts of several hours gone.
I also went to vote for "Switch", by Karen Prince, on a number of Listopia Lists. There I also voted for an old (no longer active) edition until I noticed several editions of the book (golden cover and red-brown cover) listed on most of the lists.
I messaged Karen Prince and learned that the red-brown-cover is the active edition, and that she has tried many a time to get the old, golden-cover edition deleted from these list. Yet all her efforts were to no avail.
Readers, of course, rarely know which edition is the active edition. Thus, the vote for the old golden-cover edition, and the old edition competes with the new edition, and the new edition of "Switch" loses tons of votes.
I have another beef with Listopia lists. I consider it insane that any moron can add new lists, and as you can see, morons have added new lists and continue to add new lists.
It is absolutely essential to have new lists being approved by Goodreads librarians and existing redundant lists merged. Thus the crazy volume of lists could be reduced to 1/10th.
Most readers have no interest in voting on dozens or even hundreds of lists for one book only, when most of these lists are redundant.
It should really be possible to get these lists in order.

As with many things, adding things to listopia can take some days to show up on the book page, due to caching.
The lists may not operate how you think they should, but that doesn't mean they aren't in order for the people actively using them. The lists are supposed to be for fun, for the readers, not for you or any author to pimp books with the "right" cover on.
Lilo, please limit discussion in this group to specific requests. For example, "The book Simon's Big Party Weekend does not belong on the list 'Best Meditation Texts'. Please remove it."
Discussions of how you think a feature should work are better posted in the Feedback Group. Librarians have no control over that sort of thing.

Could you please remove these books and put the spammers on notice?
Also, for some reason, as a librarian and creator of the list, I still cannot edit the list of books - only the description and tags for the list. This is in spite of the notice that appears when I click "edit":
----------------
Important: if you're on this page you have been granted a special "librarian" status, and can edit list data. Don't take this responsibility lightly—if you can help correct any inaccuracies or add any missing data, please do so! But only make changes if you're sure they're correct.
Please read the Librarian Manual before making any changes to this page.

Why is this? Why can I only edit the title, description, and tags, but not the books?
Any help is most appreciated.

No idea why you can't edit. Maybe as the creator, your privileges are limited?? Just a guess.

The books are Wanted: Dead Or In Love by Kym Brunner and Whisper by Chris Struyk-Bonn. I changed the list description to try to help in future.

Removed. I also tweaked the description slightly to add a bit of emphasis. Hope you approve.

Clean/Secular/Non Religious Books it is #201-A Matter of Class by Mary Balogh on page 3.

Could someone please remove it?
Another example of why we creators/MODS need to have the ability to delete books from our Listopia Lists and our group bookshelves while still allowing others to add books.

rape and almost rape in front of a toddler, certainly makes it inappropiate for my Clean/Secular/Non Religious Books-list!

Gone.
The Harry Potters start with the murder of parents in front of their baby. Is that OK?

Awesome, thanks. Though I just noticed Kym Brunner's has been added BACK again. Oh well - guess you can't fight the tide?

In the HP books that is NOT graphically described if I remember correctly.

People have mistakenly added books that don't fit the list at all, even though I thought the description was clear. I went ahead and edited the description to make it even more clear, but the wrong books still remain.
If a librarian could remove these, I would appreciate it....

Asking for specific books to be removed from a list is fine. Linking to a specific user's votes is not.
