I recently finished
by Sandra Dallas. I gave it 4 stars. I really enjoyed this novel and all the historical information about being a midwife in late 1800s Colorado. The manslaughter trial and the relationship between the midwife and her husband were both interesting plot threads (and finding out who the REAL killer is was a mystery). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I found the frequent reminiscences by the main character into her past kept pulling me out of the current story.

I recommend #Masterpiece: Created Anew In Christ this book to anyone fighting any bout of self-doubt. It will change your life for the better.
Last night I started
The Accidental Demon Slayer by Angie FoxI also started
Guns Will Keep Us Together by Leslie Langtry
Excited to start~
Superstition by David Ambrose
Parapsychologist Sam Towne believes that ghosts come from the human mind, not from "beyond".
I just finished reading Blood Price by Tanya Huff. It wasn't bad but there were a couple of areas in the book where it didn't seem to flow very well.
I found that I was missing the characters from the Dragon Lance world so I am currently reading "Kindred Spirits" by Mark Anthony and Ellen Porath. Figured it would be a nice change.

I loved this book and have the 2nd one downloaded, just waiting for me to finish up current books.

Just finished
Assassin's Apprentice by Robin HobbI found this slow to start, but was glad I hung in there to finish this first book in the Farseer Trilogy.
I just finished Kindred Spirits, which is a Dragonlance book. I forgot how much I miss reading this series and how much I really like the original characters. This book focused specifically on Tanis the Half-Elf and the first time he meets Flint the Dwarf. I think I'm going to have to return to reading more books in this series. Maybe even re-read a few of the other ones.
It's Chris Hunter and I'm reading Crime after Crime which I plan to finish within the next few weeks.
Just finished
Amaretto Amber by Traci Andrighetti Great fun read. Not cozy unless you like your cozy mysteries complete with strippers, drag queens, and possible voodoo and witchcraft New Orlean.s style.
I just finished We're All Damaged
by Matthew Norman. He also wrote Domestic Violets
which I also read when it first came out. We're all Damaged is very entertaining and has plenty of life insights mixed in with the humor. A quick read that I enjoyed very much.
I'm currently reading Vittorio by Anne Rice. It's been a long time since I have read any of her books. Felt that it would be a good time for one.
Just finished: The Haunting of Ashburn House. Liked the story but had to skip over the part about the murder and another part . . . a bit to much on the gory side for me. Did have me turning the lights on in the room though! Love ghost stories just as much as Cozies!
Just finished Yellowthread Street more satirical than police procedural in my opinion, but entertaining enough that I have it 3 stars.
I finished Vittorio by Anne Rice yesterday. Today I started Conspiracy of Angels by Michelle Belanger. So far so good.
I am intrigued by the idea of genealogical based mysteries. Has anyone read any of these and could you recommend a good one? Thanks.

I'm waiting for the second book to become available through Overdrive. I listened to the first book because of a friend's recommendation and fell in love with it. I added a few more series after snooping through your shelves :)

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
I'm in the middle of Gone With a Handsomer Man by Michael Lee West. Quirky characters and recipes you don't want to try! The MC's family cookbook is full of deadly desserts. It's a fun read.
This past weekend I finished
Memoir of Col. Benjamin Tallmadge by Benjamin Tallmadge and started
Stand by Your Hitman by Leslie Langtry
I also read non-cozy mysteries. One I recently reread was The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. It's about the love of books. :)
I am reading Mariana by Susanna Kearsley. Definitely a change of pace for me. The MC is traveling and forth through time.

"I liked that book a lot.
Currently reading The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer (enjoying it so far...not as funny as I thought but interesting hearing about her life) and Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy by Mike Love (kind of slow for me)
The Bookshop on the Corner
by Jenny ColganI recently read this book and it made me want to go to see Scotland. The bookshop is a traveling van, not a store.

I read Harry Truman's Excellent Adventure and really enjoyed it. I couldn't believe how they were able to take off like that and not get caught by the press.
