Currently reading
Middlemarch (audio version) It's 30 hrs but once you get past Chap 16 it's much better.....there are 80+ chapters.Michelle, I will be listening to GWTW very soon. I hear it is very good, thank you.
Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice [Maureen McCormick] Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True VoiceIt's actually pretty interesting, but I am a fan of 1960s-1970s Hollywood (even though I was born in the 80s!)

Middlemarch on audio and Gone With The Wind? Sounds great how does a person sign up and how much does it cost?
Thanks for the info.

Mary wrote: "Middlemarch on audio and Gone with the Wind?..."Hello Mary, Middlemarch came from our public library consortium through Overdrive Media Console and is a free download. GWTW versions through the library are abridged (horrible to do to a book) so I purchased mine through audible with a credit from membership or $14.95.
Currently reading several books, including Pure Dead Magic, The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend, Yes, My Accent Is Real: And Some Other Things I Haven't Told You and Breakdown: An Alex Delaware Novel
Death Without Company-2nd in Longmire Mystery series by Craig Johnson-good series so far. I started watching the TV series on Netflix. Books are better.

I thought it was good!

Might have to check that one out. I've read the bios for David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman (swoon!), Donny Osmond and a bunch of others from my heyday!
I have so many books on my shelves that I have not read due to school. I am currently reading The Ice Queen by Alice Hoffman.
Brandi wrote: "I have so many books on my shelves that I have not read due to school. I am currently reading The Ice Queen by Alice Hoffman."Right now I am reading Gloria Steinem's My Life On The Road. I just finished read Tami Hoag's The Bitter Season, which was very good!
I am currently reading The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe. It is pretty interesting as I did not know much about Marilyn Monroe.
I just finished reading A Man Called Ove because my book club will be discussing it Monday. I loved it! Of course, that may be because I'm married to my own lovable curmudgeon. ;-)
Right now I'm mostly reading vintage mystery -- traditional though not necessarily cozy. I just finished Lenore Glen Offord's series featuring married sleuths Georgina Wyeth and Todd McKinnon. Disappointingly Georgina is missing from the final book which follows the adventures of her daughter and her husband. Despite that fact, it's probably the best book in the series.
I read Goddess by Sumner. I recently discovered we are very distant cousins. Her biography is very interesting and sad.
Great list of suggestions! To offset cozies I have been reading nonfiction.
With spring coming I have been offered a few gardening and get-into-shape books to read for review.
I am hoping some of the knowledge sticks and I become healthier and a better gardener just by reading.
I am currently reading The Handbook of the Sherlock Holmes Festival from the Sherlock Holmes Society
A wonderful pictorial book featuring the inauguration of the Sherlock Holmes statue in London.
I will get back to cozy mystery books soon. I'm working with a group of teens and they are into the TV show and the books of Supernatural. Since we like to use metaphors in group I figured I need to start reading some of the books so that I can keep up with them. So I am reading the Supernatural book called Nevermore. I'm fairly caught up with the TV show.

It is much better than the one I had to abandon~
"That Pet-Sitter series was awful!

Yes, Spanish version of the TBR mountain ;-)

Thanks
Which 2 books did you add off my read this year list?
I'm currently reading Past Crimes. I'm reading all the 2016 Edgar Award nominees - starting with best first novels.
Marisa wrote: "Gary, I added This Case Is Gonna Kill Me and A Beautiful Heist"The first one is actually by Melinda Snodgrass using a pen name. She was story editor on Star Trek The Next Generation during at least season 2. I have the second one in the series waiting to be read sometime soon. A Beautiful Heist was a fun read, if you like tales of jewel thieves with a dose of the Da Vinci Code tossed in the blender it should be up your alley.
Marisa wrote: "It can be funny, thank you. And I don't know the first author :("Melinda is also a frequent contributor to George RR Martin's Wild Cards series. (Thankfully, being re-released in E book format) Yes he had/has a series other than The Song of Fire and Ice aka The Game of Thrones
Yes Gary, I know about other books of George RR Martin ;-) I knew him with Fevre Dream, and I bought the first book in Song of Fire and Ice when it appeared in Spain, long before the series.
Reading Scene Of the Crime by Anne WingateScene of the Crime: A Writer ’s Guide to Crime Scene InvestigationAlways nice to keep up on this and know where to hide the clues. LOL Duffy
Marisa wrote: "Yes Gary, I know about other books of George RR Martin ;-) I knew him with Fevre Dream, and I bought the first book in Song of Fire and Ice when it appeared in Spain, long before the ..."Some people, current company excluded, get tunnel vision and think the author only wrote the series they know. Robert Jordan wrote at least 5 or 6 Conan novels in addition to The Wheel of Time Series. Martin has had a long career as an SF writer prior to Game of Thrones. John Jakes was primarily known as fantasy and SF author before he ever set pen to paper to write The Bastard, which was the first of The Kent Family Chronicles. The late great Elmore Leonard, who lived not too many miles from where my office sits wrote westerns before he became known for his crime novels.
Olivia wrote: "Currently I'm reading Defending Jacob by William Landay. So far it has been very good."I hope you enjoy it. I thought it was an amazing book. Part courtroom drama, part psychological thriller -- and put together in a very unique way. I keep hoping the author will publish another one soon.
Yes Gary, I agree, and I feel the same in some way about Charlaine Harris (I began to read Sookie books quite before True Blood).
Finished
and nearly finished with
by John Jakes which I started a while ago and decided to clear out of my currently reading list here on GR.

And started a cozy - 1st one by Rosie Genova - Murder and Marinara!!
