Hello jaxnsmom. I'll post something here when I finish the book. I'm about a quarter into it. So far I like it. It's somewhat spiritual, thought provoking. My husband read it and thought it was very good.
Parnassus On Wheels by Christopher Morley. Free on iBooks. This book is followed by The Haunted Bookshop which I also plan to read. It is really a very enjoyable old book and much better than some of the freebies that are newly written. How refreshing to read a well-written book that has a good plot and is thought provoking. I'm posting from my iPhone app. Please excuse the lack of link for the books.

Glad to hear that.

Three non-mysteries I recently finished are:The Almond Tree by Michelle Cohen Corasanti- 3 stars
This book has been getting a lot of hype, but I felt it wasn't particularly well-written and the characters were thinly drawn. Also, it's a very one-sided view of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, being pro-Palestinian, even though it's written by a Jewish-American.
The Lost Continent: Travels in Small Town America by Bill Bryson - 5 stars
This book of curmudgeon Bill's travels all around the US is a laugh-a-minute. Very enjoyable.
The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery - 2 stars
I really don't understand what all the hype was about this book. I found it to be wordy and pretentious. It's obvious the author had an ax to grind about rich people who live in Paris. I probably wouldn't have finished it if I wasn't so curious why it was getting rave reviews and sales.
I just finished Big Little Lies
and really enjoyed it. It is not my usual kind of book, so I was surprised how much I liked it. I'm now reading Two Graves
by Preston and Child. I love Agent Pendergast.
Read Bliss House by Laura Benedict. This is part mystery, part gothic ghost story and a thriller. One of the best of this type of book I've ever read. It got 5 stars from me.

Kay
I listened to the latest Jesse Stone book, Robert B. Parker's Blind Spot. I like picturing Tom Selleck as Jesse as I read this series. To me he fits better than the actual character :)
Just finished "Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes. It took several months from the time I requested the book from the library until it came it. Lots of people were in line before me to read it. It was absolutely worth the wait!
Happy to be reading the 4th book in the Rock Harbor series
! In fact, I am reading two really good books right now (the first one I mentioned above)!

Not that far into it, but it is good so far. I wanted to read some yesterday, but circumstances just disn't allow it. Hopefully today!

Well my reading list changes quickly because I have been very into comics and mangas (Japanese comics) recently. I finish those in a day or two. But at this second I am reading Cress, Wicked Appetite, Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 22 and Saiyuki, Volume 2... and just this morning I finished Rat Queens, Vol. 1: Sass & Sorcery which was awesome! Such a fun comic hehehe

I hear you. I feel like that often. I plan to finish a book that evening and end up getting hardly any reading done:(
Today I started listening to
. It's taking awhile to get into, but it's getting better. I've loved most of her other books, so I'm willing to give this more of a chance.

Read Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good by Jan Karon. Loved it. It is a feel good book in a world filled with chaos

I have that on my mp3 player. It'll be nice to catch up with the characters, like a comfy visit home.

I'm currently reading
by Sarah Jio I have never read anything by this author and I'm pleasantly pleased with it. I've only got about 5 chapters left. The book moves along quickly. The story is about two woman, and every other chapter is about one of them. It's easy to keep track of what is going on in each of their lives. There is a little mystery to it as to what actually happened to Vera's son on that horrible that a snow storm hits Seattle on May 2, 1933. I would highly recommend this book.
I'm nearly finished listening to
The Elephant Whisperer and am enjoying it far more than I thought I would.
