colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2719 comments Where's Christopher Walken when you need him?

message 353: by Laurel (new)

Laurel YES!

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2719 comments I took lessons in grade school from 3rd grade on. I even played organ in church for a few years, back when I went to church. (It was fun playing Phantom of the Opera after people were mostly gone, though.)

Then I was in the Pit in high school marching band, playing xylophones and things, which are set up the same.

It's been awhile and I'm a bit rusty, but I think I still got the basics down.

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 462 comments Hate is such a strong word. I don't even hate Kevin, as hard as that may be to believe. I've recently learned that hate is something that should be saved and only dished out to those who truly are deserving it. I can honestly say there is only one person I personally know/knew that I hate, and they aren't around anymore so I guess I don't hate anyone living.

Just saying. We don't hate Kevin. Not even me. It's just sooooooo fun to play this little game...

Laurel Ronald, be prepared. I'm about to snoop through your book list. If the important ones are missing, I feel obligated as your new friend to give you a reading list.

Seriously, I'm a teacher. There may be homework!

message 359: by [deleted user] (new)

Laurel Ala,

You are my star pupil. I think our book compatability is in the 90's. Go us!

Ronald,

dude, you only have 20 some books. Either that's because you haven't added past reads just yet, or... Well, I think some recommendations are in order!

Son, I think you're my huckleberry.

message 366: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 462 comments Is a huckleberry a good thing or a bad thing? Damn it, have I been misusing huckleberry?

message 367: by Trike (new)

Trike Why am I suddenly reminded of Clerks II?

message 368: by [deleted user] (new)

Dawn wrote: "Is a huckleberry a good thing or a bad thing? Damn it, have I been misusing huckleberry?"

From the movie, it would be a nemesis I think? From they way we use it, it can go either way :P

message 369: by Laurel (new)

Laurel I hear knuckles cracking... I'm so glad I'm home to read the epic wit fest!

message 370: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol @ Dawn. Naw, you've been using it just fine. You're my huckleberry basically mean's "you're the one I'm looking for" or "you're my target" It works both as a threat or an endearment ;)

message 371: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 462 comments But Chris is my huckleberry... But that makes sense cause he can totally take me ;)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 889 comments Holy shit. I was going through too quickly and missed the entire last page.

I was being porned upon and was unaware. Dammit.

Oh, and it's summer where Kim is at, Ala....My "this" was re: Ms. Glau.

Just to briefly go back to this:

Kevin, the group I formed for a bunch of us who'd become friends was formed in August. I'm pretty sure I first encountered you shortly after joining Goodreads last January. If I had wanted to form an anti-Kevin group, I would have done so by February. At the latest.

message 381: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 462 comments What Denae said. We can't help it if we know how to make friends and like each other.... Maybe stop being such a troll and you could make some too!

That'd be like having Kool but no Ade. Ham but no Burger.

message 385: by [deleted user] (new)

I'd have destroyed his legos death star while throwing up Rebellion gang signs and yelling out "REBELS 4 LYFE, BITCH"

It probably wouldn't be pretty.

message 386: by [deleted user] (new)

Does it involve priapism or something?

I'm not talking about the group being an anti me group. The problem I have with it is that when does the group have to be a secret and private group? What so all could shut out all those from the outside? See that is what I don't like when people can't expand their horizon.

Actually, looking back, you said "You have already in way, secertly, but you should just create one basiced on hating me." which means we did indeed misinterpret your sentence. In that case, let me say that I, for one, find you far too amusing to ever create a group solely in opposition to you. Also, don't hate you.

message 390: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 462 comments It's private because we're friends, and we want a place to hang out, just us. Friends. Share private things. Without strangers in there. Friendddds.

I find that very egocentric.

Laurel Kevin,

In defense of Ala, he loves Star Wars on top of many other things. I think that you like George R. R. Martin, but you seem to dislike many other authors and titles. I'm not sure if I could name any of your other faves? I could list over a dozen for Ala. Granted, we're good friends, but I'm wondering, could this be part of the issue?

In response, I love the Ender's Quartet, along with Redwell, and J.D. Salinger, John Steinbeck as you can see from my favorite books, but none of you ever bring those books up often or at all.

message 399: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Are you doing Decembeard now that Movember is over?

message 400: by Laurel (new)

Laurel @ Kevin,

I've enjoyed the Redwall graphic novel, as well as Salinger and Steinbeck. I've never tried the Ender books.
