Me too! Great book!

Sounds wacky. I like this: "genre-busting." I'll try to participate but my plate is pretty full in December. I'll be interested to see what people say about it.

You're totally right. How dare Cline write about what he wanted to write about, without even consulting the official list of things Kevin says you are or aren't allowed to write about?!? The nerve of some people.

I've known several, but they typically had better taste, most were smarter, and absolutely all of them were fully literate in their first language, so I never made the connection. Thank you, Ala!

mark monday (majestic-plural) | 200 comments it's always so nice to stop in on this group to enjoy all the wonderful Mean Girls style pile-up action from Nicki Denae Colleen etc et al. Kevin makes high-handed comments all the time; is this still a surprise? he is talking about his own opinions. yet the Mean Girls group and their adherents still seem to think that it is their holy mission to get together, gang up, and insult him with their various condescending insults. annoying outsider comments by one person met by group-think bullying by a lot of folks who should know better - and even encouraged by one of the moderators. it's all so gross and pathetic. gosh what a great big cuddly circle jerk of a group this is. poor aggravating Kevin has certainly done wonders for increasing the warmth and closeness of your relationships together! you all have learned that being personally insulting and contemptuous is so much easier when done with one mind! you should thank him.

While I agree that goodreads should be a place everyone feels welcome, I do wonder what motivates someone to post "I don't plan to read it in this lifetime or the next" about an upcoming book. Especially when that comment is preceded by him saying he thinks a book he never read is 'overrated'.

If you don't like a book that's fine but you should either be able to give real criticism or ignore the topic completely. If Kevin is going to make illogical and contrarian posts he shouldn't be surprised by peoples' reaction.
