No, I don't do that because I am always changing what books I am going to read.
Wait...wait..

I just laughed so loudly my boyfriend said it hurt and the cat ran away.Seriously though, we aren't out to get you, Kevin. We are, however, unlikely to a) ignore threads that are jumping and b) take you any more seriously than you take us. You only seem to even remotely listen when it's to complain about how persecuted you are. Grow some balls and stop taking things personally and maybe, just maybe, people will be more willing to let your absurdities slide.

None?!So sorry. Life without books is, well...
But prepare yourself, we grow book addicts around these parts!

Once you've realized the truth of it, it becomes all kinds of entertaining.

Challenging other people to swap reads works sometimes, Ronald. Might give that a shot.

Kind of like two of my friends with A Game of Thrones, which they both had it since April, and one has not read a page of it, the other has not yet even got half way. They are shooting for April of next year, but I really don't think they are going to make it since it the first book they have both read in a while.

I pushed A Game of Thrones onto a friend and she's currently about 150 pages in and loving it. I'm so excited... I can't stand it. :D

ADwD is a tough book to get back in the reading groove for most people. I'd try something less dense.
Nicki wrote: "Kevin wrote: "Nicki wrote: "Kevin wrote: "My major problem is that all of you find it a few laughs at my expense, meaning that all of you don't even take this seriesly. You all think this all a jok..."Forgot that you live in England. So maybe the law is different there.
Well, given that mark's comments were all sarcasm, ad hominem attacks, or falsely seeing several of us here in the thread being a sign of a conspiracy, what is to be taken seriously? What do you want, Kevin?
Ronald wrote: "Becky wrote: "I pushed A Game of Thrones onto a friend and she's currently about 150 pages in and loving it. I'm so excited... I can't stand it. :D"I almost gave up on the series. I picked it up ..."
You really should get the audio version and listen to it on the way to work. That is what one of friend does all the time now because his work is so busy he has no time read anything anymore.
This year I'll have read 203 books by the end of the year, unless my plans change. I'd say that's probably more than in the past 6 years combined. Next year I'm actually planning to rigidly limit myself to no more than 12 a month. Who knows though, my hobbies may shift again. I definitely get the reading less when working from home & distracted thing.

Wow, that throws my advice right out of the window.

Sorry for getting behind, folks.I was sharpening my pitchfork.
ETA: That sounded dirty. I didn't mean for it to.

Yeah, I need to balance things better next year. We're definitely still reading The Wasp Factory together though!

Nah, it's just the internet, not the twilight zone.
<--- Not an online gamer. Although, I do love video games... like the GTA games and God of War games. So addicting. :D

Holy shit, this thread is moving fast. Thanks guys! Maybe I should just stay here and hit refresh. Except I'm not a gamer, so I'll just wait for the next tangent to come along...

Don't fear bad, I played Half-Life over the summer, which is even later than Portal.

That maybe one reason it turned into video games.

So, I'm listening to The Terror while I start over again on my Slytherin scarf... My boyfriend came in for about two minutes, before he hauled ass out of the room saying "Ugh! That's so BORING... All they're talking about is scurvy and frostbite!" I'm like... That's what makes it interesting.
Sometimes, I feel like I wear the pants in this relationship. LOL He doesn't even like football! O_o
A very awkward cashier got very excited when he saw my Portal 2 shirt today. I didn't have the heart to tell him I've yet to finish the first one. I figure that omission is outweighed by the fact that I got it at a gaming con.
You guys have never heard of NeoGAF?

My favorite thing to do on the 30th or 31st of every month is to sit in front of my bookshelf and pick out my wishlist for the next month. I often stray, but I still love the exercise.
Do you try this?
