message 108: by Sella (last edited Nov 18, 2008 02:22PM) (new)

Sella Malin I don't think that Twilight is the best book in the universe, but I think it's really good. And I like the fact that Meyer put in her own twist of vampires. I mean, how boring would it be if she just stuck to the original legend 100%? When she makes it up herself, she's being creative. There's nothing wrong with being creative. It's how you write.

And yeah, Bella might be annoying sometimes, but just because the main character has flaws doesn't mean that the book is terrible. Actually, a character with flaws are what make books BETTER.

And I agree, the ending of Breaking Dawn was pretty abrupt...plus I sorta wished that the fight with the Volturri happened, she kinda cheated us out of that. But other than that, it was still really good.

message 109: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments I thought that Twilight was pretty bad. It had a sort of predictable plot, and the charecters were loathe worthy, but The Host was very well written and actually a compelling read.

message 111: by Diana (new)

Diana (higura_natume) | 931 comments i agree sella

but it would've been nice if SOME of Bella's flaws would've been fixed by the end

she literally learned nothing in the whole saga

oh and on the fight, i wish it happened. No offense, but the Edward vs. Victoria scene wasn't good.

It was just Edward moving step and step away while victoria lunged at him.

BORING

message 112: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments I know!

"and Edward stepped to the left, Victoria lunged but missed Edward killed her and was completely fine, not a scratch on his purrrfect little head!"

message 113: by Diana (new)

Diana (higura_natume) | 931 comments yeah i was disappointed

i think that stephenie just didn't try hard enough

message 114: by Chandani (new)

message 117: by Grace (new)

Grace lol!

message 118: by Court (new)

Court Chandani: Some wood say that just the characters/book making u feel any kind of "intense emotion" makes it good...

I'm gonna read the Host :P

message 119: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments Yeah it was good.

I dont really think that my intense hatred for the twilight characters would qualify as "good"

message 120: by Court (new)

Court No, just that the book made u feel sumthing was good. Means they really got their character/story through..

message 121: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments ohhh kk

message 122: by Diana (new)

Diana (higura_natume) | 931 comments you could read all that at a bookstore?

message 125: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments Just the way it was written. It wasent as good as the others and the others werent that good themselves ya kno?

message 126: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin Twilight used to be my favorite book, but then I read The Host and realized how much better The Host was- and how worse Twilight compared to it.

THE HOST IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! XD

message 136: by Jeremy (new)

Jeremy (jakerator) | 4 comments i dont want to read it being a boy and all, but i just dont understand how emotional girls get over this book. Im in high school and when girls start talking about this some literaly start crying i mean its just stupid.
I think some people forget that its JUST A BOOK.
(and now movie)

message 137: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin It's good, but seriously..to cry over it?? That's a bit extreme. You're only allowed to cry over The Host. Not Twilight. XD lol...I cried at the end of The Host, when I thought that Wanda __________. (don't wanna spoil anything for anyone who hasn't read it!!)

message 138: by Court (new)

Court Girls cried over it???????? New Moon was sad but not like "omg-tear-jerker" the only book that made me cry was The Book Thief and thatz cuz like alot of people died..

message 139: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow, I've never cried over a book. And New Moon was sooo stupid.

message 140: by Lela (new)

Lela | 167 comments I cry over lots of books but I don't think Twilight was one of them. No, definitely not. I cried when I read Day of Tears though, how ironic right?

message 141: by [deleted user] (new)

lol

message 142: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments *sigh* I actually cried in New Moon. yes i was obsessed with Twilight at one point in my life and i cried when Edward left despite how much i hate him now. I also cried when bella got into an argument with Jacob.

but im over that phase

message 143: by Diana (new)

Diana (higura_natume) | 931 comments ive never cried over a book
