Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 1024 comments Ok I've finished Slave to Sensation!!

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh
Title/Author: Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh
Date finished: 21 August 2011
Rating: ★★★★
Review: Normally I don't get into a series until book 2 or 3, but I did like this one once I got about 1/2 through with it. It reminded me of the movie Equilibrium with Christian Bale, which was excellent. I look forward to reading the next one's in the series ;)

message 305: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Yay, another Psy-C convert! Now just keep going Suzanne :)

Kristen (k10bentley) | 422 comments I finished my Shifters book:

Book: The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong

Stars: ★★★★

Review: The Summoning is about a group of teens who are living in a group home. The main character, Chloe, sees ghosts and is admitted and told she is schizophrenic. She starts to look into things in the house and becomes convinced that she really can see ghosts. She starts to think that the caregivers are up to something and she and housemates decide to take matters into their own hands. This book is obviously part of a series and I want to read the rest of the series. It is written in first person and the other characters have paranormal strengths.

Vi | 943 comments I finished Magic Slays for Shifters book today (26 August)

Rating: ★★★★
Review: After I finished reading this book back in June, I wanted to re-read it immediately. This time again, I liked it much better than the first read. I still don't know why certain arcs were there but I do hope it was done for a reason. I'm still in love with Kate and Curran.

Thenia | 977 comments I finished my Shifter shelf book: Go Fetch! by Shelly Laurenston

Go Fetch! (Magnus Pack, #2) by Shelly Laurenston

Date finished: 26 August 2011

Rating: ★★★

Review:
Nothing more and nothing less than expected. Fun characters, bad guys that exist only so our good guys can prove points, minimal plot and lots of smart ass comments. A featherlight read that made me smile a little and let me save my brain power for my projects and upcoming exams, while providing me with a fun story to relax with. Again, the cover sucks - too sloppy for my taste.

The epilogue gives us a glimpse into Angelina's story and I'm looking forward to reading that one - tigers!

message 310: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Angelina's story makes me wish I had a 700-pound Siberian tiger to snuggle! >;)

Alyssa (lyssad87) | 974 comments Make mine a black panther like the cats in Rachel Vincent's Shifters series, and I'm in! More specifically, I'll take Jace. :-)

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments I'm reading Infected: Prey now. It has a lion shifter AND a tiger shifter. I want them both!

I have that one TBR, Cindy. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it when you're done.

LOL Kristen - that it is. Here are some others, not necessarily any better though. It's what's inside that makes it hot. >;)

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 1024 comments I finished my Shifters book:

Book: Blood Bound (Mercedes Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs

Stars: ★★★★★

Review: I really like this series so far. I like how self-sufficient the main character is. I keep comparing her to Anita Blake because they both start out as paranormal enigma's in the community and I really hope this series doesn't go down the same road as that one!

message 320: by Alyssa (last edited Aug 28, 2011 02:52PM) (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) | 974 comments I have finished The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld, #4) by Gena Showalter for the Alpha Male space.

1. Date finished: 8/27/11

2. Rating: ★★★★★

3. Review: And, now I'm done with Book 4 of the Lords of the Underworld series. I really liked this one. I sooo ♥ Gwen! She was too awesome. Her and her sisters were pretty interesting to read about. I hope to see more of them in the future books. Sabin and Gwen together were also too cute. Anya as always had me cracking up.

I can't wait to read the next one. I have all the rest that are out so far. They're just sitting here staring at me, but unfortunately I need to read something else. I'm gonna miss the Lords.

Now it's time for me to read about a dangerously delicious dragon. Heart of the Dragon (Atlantis, #1) by Gena Showalter (Dragons are my absolute favorite shifter, for now anyways. Hopefully I'll enjoy this book.)

Alyssa (lyssad87) | 974 comments I bet everyone has no clue what I'll be reading for the Demons shelf. Lol.

I'm going to read The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld, #5) by Gena Showalter .

Mr. Randomizer has now redeemed himself. ♥ ♥

Kristen (k10bentley) | 422 comments I'm going to read: Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh . I've been wanting to read something by Singh

message 326: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments There are a lot of books on that shelf. So, again, I'm spoiled for choices. My shortlists:

Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning Fool Moon (The Dresden Files #2) by Jim Butcher Demon Forged (The Guardians, #5) by Meljean Brook Daughter of the Blood (The Black Jewels, #1) by Anne Bishop The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) by Gena Showalter Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate

Dreamfever is a re-read though but I'm sort of in a reading funk, so I think it might help me come out of it!

message 327: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Hope you like your book Kristen. I love Nalini Singh's books :) And the next book in this series is coming out next week. Can't wait!

message 328: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) | 974 comments Well, I bet you could guess which one I would suggest, Vi. *cough* The Darkest Night *cough*

The second one I would suggest is Fallen. I love that cover, BTW. I spent so much time staring at it when I was reading it.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments CONGRATULATIONS, Published Enemy #1!
You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'alpha male'.

[Your new BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]

Good Job!! :D

message 330: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Congrats on the stamp PE#1!

message 331: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Alyssa, that book made into my shortlist because of YOU :P. I think I'll probably use that one for the challenge even though I will be re-reading the last two fever books.

I've been staring at the Fallen series covers too. All the covers are gorgeous. How did you like it?

I have been meaning to ask this question for a long long time - how do we win Bingo? In my defense, I did go to the wiki page but my eyes started to glaze over in two paras - so much info :(

message 332: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Vi, the winning team needs to read and review all the books for an announced shelf to get the shelf stamp.

Then you have to be lucky and get 5 shelf stamps in a row, any which way, ie up, down, across or diagonally. It doesn't have to include the freespace stamp, though it frequently does.

That's why Mr Randomizer plays such an important part. It is all in the luck of the shelf.

message 333: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Hm, so based on that, Team #2 can win if the next shelf called is Paranormal Romance provided they finish all the books first, right? Cool.

Kristen (k10bentley) | 422 comments Vi wrote: "Hm, so based on that, Team #2 can win if the next shelf called is Paranormal Romance provided they finish all the books first, right? Cool."

I'm not ready for the game to be over yet! It's too much fun!!!

message 335: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Same!

I don't know what I'm going to choose for the demons yet, maybe Blood of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #2) by Diana Rowland or Forsaken (The Demon Trappers, #1) by Jana Oliver . I probably won't start it until Thursday 1st but I'll have it finished by the time the next shelf is called :)

message 336: by Kristen (new)

Kristen (k10bentley) | 422 comments Maybe Steph can change the rules so we can keep playing until the last card is left??

Don't worry, I doubt the game will be over THAT quickly. Laura hasn't read/finished her Free Space book, so in reality, we only have two stamps. I will be SHOCKED if Mr. Randomizer spits out "paranormal romance" next. And just a teeny bit disappointed. I like the game too, and it would be sad to end so soon. :D

message 338: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments I don't want it to be over too!! We still got a while with all the shelves.

I've read the first two Fever books so far. Just need to find time to read the rest.

I've only read Fallen. I have Torment but haven't had time to read it. Now that I look back at it, I see that I wrote a review for it, because I read it during R2 Bingo.

Here's my review if you want to read it. It isn't much.

LOL! Doubtful. But, happy to hear you are enjoying it that much.

I'm sure Mr. R will keep things interesting. But, ya never know. That's part of what makes it so much fun.

Desire Unchained (Demonica, #2) by Larissa Ione
Date finished: 31 August 2011

Rating: ★★★★

Review:Interesting book, with a cursed hero, a scorned woman and a psycho villain. It has a few twists and the story gets more complex as you go along to learn more about the demon world. There are also a couple of side stories that will probably progress in future books.

Looking forward to Wraith's book - according to the preview it'll be a good one.
