Wow! I'm going to have to add this to my TBR.
Jumping in, wearing my cheerleader outfit, complete with pom-poms...Whoo!! Whooo!! We're number ONE!I just checked out the team stats, some teams already have three chips placed. We've only got one. I know it's early in the game, but let's get those books read and chips placed.
I haven't been around lately - sorry!I'm almost done with First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones which I'll probably use for the free space, but I'm not sure what I'll read for the other two. I've got many options and I promise to catch up soon. Sorry for the delay!
Alyssa wrote: "I'm more motivated by rewards. Especially if they're in the form of chocolate cupcakes. ;-)"I do make a tasty vegan chocolate cupcake!! My DD is eating one right now.

It's great to see you!!! :-) Happy reading.
O.O *staring at cupcakes, drooling**10 minutes later..... shakes head and wipes mouth*
Cupcakes after I finish a book. Otherwise I won't get any reading done while I'm staring at them. Lol. But thanks.
Now I really want a cupcake or something chocolate. I shouldn't mention stuff like that unless I actually have something chocolatey to eat. All I have is some fun-size Twixes. :-(
That's bad Kristen, it's morning tea time here, now I'll just have to go see wheat I've got inthe cupboard. LOL.
That's why they make chocolate donuts and things like that. So, you can have chocolate for breakfast without having to eat something that looks like dessert. (ie. cupcakes) Mmmmm.... Chocolate donuts.... Cupcakes.... *sighs*
Not that many people would eat chocolate donuts for brekkie here. LOL.Donuts are morning/arvo tea fare. *yummm*
I finally finished

Review: I finally picked this book a couple days ago. It's an action packed fantasy. I am fascinated by the different mythologies (Irish, some Indian) that was included. I'm getting my hand on the next book as soon as I can.
It is difficult to choose a book for the dark shelf. There are so many many choices. I will be reading either
or
since they fit other challenges as well. But I am going back to this shelf to find new books. I have one already -
.

OMG! I could eat chocolate ALL day and NEVER get tired of it.
Sandra wrote: "Well, I never said we'd get tired of it. Just that I've never seen anyone eat it for brekkie. LOL"I would love to invite you to my house for a chocolate covered, filled, and syruped brekkie! Yumm!!! :-)

Review: I read this book last year soon after its release and I wanted to do a reread before reading the next book -
. My liking of this book hasn't changed since last year and the rating is still 4 stars. The whole concept and premise is so unique, though people seeing Death seems to be a trend. Of course, I did roll my eyes and love triangle.
Is there a deadline to finishing our book for the dark shelf? I've had wicked morning sickness for the past week and I had to go to the doctor to get some medicine for it. I'm feeling a lot better but I'm just now starting Mockingjay.
Suzanne, there are no deadlines for finishing the books. When all the members of the team have read their picks for the shelf the team gets the stamp. It's still early in the game so it's still too early for any team to get a bingo so don't worry. Feel better soon and enjoy Mockingjay!
Suzanne wrote: "Is there a deadline to finishing our book for the dark shelf? I've had wicked morning sickness for the past week and I had to go to the doctor to get some medicine for it. I'm feeling a lot bette..."Congratulations!! Morning sickness is awful...I had it from the moment I knew I was pregnant until I delivered with both of my kids. How far along are you?
I read Daughter of the Blood by Anne Bishop today, all in one sitting! I'm going to use it for the Dark shelf.

Review: What kind of ending is that?! Can you say cliffhanger?
After getting used to the names and the quantity of information about this complicated world the story draws you in. We see many different things happening to different people, at first seeming unrelated, but as the story progresses the lines cross and the characters' relationships get more and more complicated. Sometimes the story crawled and other times things happened so fast and all at once and if you blinked you'd have missed half a dozen things (metaphorically speaking).
Since this is a first book in the series it took time to get to know the characters and parts of their pasts that lead them to where they are when we meet them. Some things in this book are extremely disturbing and others very sweet.
The ending's abrupt as I mentioned before and it succeeds in making you want to read the next book - which is what I'm running off to do now!
Thanks everybody! I'm 9 weeks right now and I hope the morning sickness has peaked! It started Sunday and went away on it's on Wednesday night but I was throwing up 2-3 a day and was eating nothing but rice and applesauce for that stretch. I've also had terrible allergies for about 2 weeks now so the Doctor told me to take OTC Claritan and he gave me a scrip for Zofran. I think the post nasal drip was making my stomach really upset on top of morning sickness so it was just HORRIBLE!! Never that bad with my first! Keeping the Zofran in the medicine cabinet just in case it comes back, but so far it's going away on it's own. It's been a very odd week but getting A LOT BETTER!
Yay, Alyssa!! Another LotU fan! I love that series! Enjoy! Strider and Paris' books are next. Can't wait! Hope you're feeling better, Suzanne!Lots to catch up on. Will do that ASAP.

3. Review: I loved it. Not quite as much as the first one, but that one blew me away. It was a great introduction to the whole 'Lords of the Underworld' world.
The Darkest Kiss was a very good continuation to the series. I think Anya is totally fun. I also spent a lot of time early on thinking 'give in Lucien, just give in'. Lol.
I'm totally loving the whole background of the series. I love some good romance, but throw in a bit of action, and I'm totally hooked. These books make me happy. :-D
Steph: Right now I can't wait to get to Strider. From just Books 1 and 2, I totally like him and need more of him. I also really can't wait to get to the first of the 'Greek' warriors books. (Sabin is the first one, right? Book 4, I think. I'll check later....) I need to know more about them!
And on that note.....I am changing my Favorite series book from

.I'm sorry, Kristen! I'm kind of a pain in your rear-end with all this changing my mind stuff.
Here's a token of my appreciation for you....

You've already got a Free Space book, so I put this one Dark.
*smacks forehead* Oh duh! That's what I meant! Lol. I think that's what I originally put too. I've been kind of a dum-dum today. I think I've got a fuse out in my brain or something. Lol. Thanks, Kristen! Where would I be without you? *goes to the sofa and sits on it upside down, feet up over the back, back on the seat, and head hanging towards the floor, then starts reading book*I kind of had the same problem when I started making my post to change my Favorite-series books. Before I even finished The Darkest Kiss, I decided I would read The Darkest Pleasure next. With that one too, I thought the only Bingo spot I had left to read for was the Free Space. (I even checked on the group bookshelf to make sure my book was on there. Lol. Maybe I should check my posts before I start getting too far ahead of myself.)
At least after I finish The Darkest Pleasure, I'll be all caught up on the shelves. So, hopefully there will be no way for me to get confused. :-D
Hey Girlies, I'm just updating the spreadsheet. If one of you lovely ladies wouldn't mind, could you look it over to make sure I have everyone's reads tracked correctly. (Those in bold with a ✓ are read, all others pending completion){Team Stats Updated}
Thanks :)

Ok, changing Daughter of the Blood to the favorite series shelf and using Heir to the Shadows by Anne Bishop for the dark shelf.

Review: The story continues with the same rhythm as the first part - at times snail-paced slow and at times fast. I would have liked to read more about Daemon (poor soul), but I guess it wasn't time, yet. Some characters I really enjoy seeing, others I fervently dislike and halfway through the book I realized that we never see things from Jaenelle's point of view, although everything is centered on her.
Yet another cliffhanger that makes me want to start on the next book right away. Let's see what happens next...
I've been offline for a bit. I believe I've got everyone's cards stamped correctly, but would like to confirm. Please let me know if I'm missing a stamp anywhere. Thanks! :)(x = no stamp; team # = stamp)

I read The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt for the alpha-male shelf.

Review: A very nice story about a woman able to see beyond appearances.
Anna has her stupid phase, but fortunately she gets over it soon and doesn't torture us with self doubt and idiotic reasons for irrational actions.
Edward is an interesting character with a few issues that he manages to overcome with some help.
The descriptions of the more intimate moments of the couple are a little more well... descriptive than I was expecting but they conveyed what they needed to convey perfectly.
Looking forward to the green-eyed Harry's story next.
And with that, I'm almost caught up, with only the free space book pending. I think I've only got a couple of hours left in the audiobook and then I'll be all done!
