Alyssa, all the books in this series except for the last (duh!) have this kind of crazy ending.. Good to know, right? So that you can keep pre-requesting :P

Kristen (k10bentley) | 422 comments I finished my dragon book (a feat I wasn't sure I could do).

The Color of Magic (Discworld, #1) by Terry Pratchett
Oct. 16, 2011
Three stars

Review: This was one weird book. I had no idea what was going on in the first 1/3 of the book. I knew there was some satire, but I know it had something to do with British humor, especially the insurance industry. However, by the time I got 1/2 way through I realized it was a simple journey story, with a native taking a wealthy tourist on a journey.

I don't know if I'll read the rest, but these are popular for a reason.

Vi | 943 comments Looking the excel sheet of all BINGO cards, it seems that Magic is the only shelf left that will not give any team a BINGO. Anything other than that, will lead to atleast one team getting a BINGO. Hope we get magic for next week (though, my guts say not) - the fun will be extended by another week! :D

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments CONGRATULATIONS, Published Enemy #1!
You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'urban fantasy'.

[Your new BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]

Good Job!! :D

Josie | 1967 comments For dragons:

The Dragon Who Loved Me (Dragon Kin, #5) by G.A. Aiken

Title/Author: The Dragon Who Loved Me by G.A. Aiken
Date finished: 18 October 2011
Rating: ★★★★
Review: I loved Rhona and Vigholf, they were really sweet together although I felt they sort of got pushed to the side at the end. I like catching up with the rest of the family too since they provide some great one-liners.
The only problem though is that I don't like every character, in particular Talaith and Izzy. In fact, I basically hate them which is why About A Dragon was my least favourite book, even though I quite like Briec (I find it very amusing when he goes on about his "perfect" daughter). I hope Izzy grows on me when she's the main character. I'm all for strong, feisty women but sometimes the females verge into the annoying. They're strong in the fighting, violent way (apart from Dagmar) and there are other ways to show strength. It starts to grate after a while. I mean why is everyone a warrior? Is there no other trade? No other personality except warrior bitchiness?
It's probably why I liked Rhona so much, she was less in-your-face. Nevertheless, I'm really looking forward to the next book. I hope it's with Gaius :)

Forbidden (The Demon Trappers, #2) by Jana Oliver

Title/Author: Forbidden by Jana Oliver
Date finished: 20 October 2011
Rating: ★★★
Review: This was ok, I think I enjoyed it more than the first. I liked some parts of the book but it did drag in places. The problem I had with it was that I've finished and the situation is still roughly the same as it was at the end of the first book. Nothing's really been resolved. Or has progressed. Oh and this p*ssed me off to the extreme -- (view spoiler) Having said all that, I am intrigued with where this is all going. I hope both Riley and Beck get a grip and sort out their lives. It'd be cool to see them work together more, trapping demons and all that (I think only one was trapped in the whole book), keeping things on the micro scale instead of all the war-and-end-of-days talk because I do find the world and the different levels of demons interesting, more than the angel stuff.

Vi | 943 comments I'll try to get my angel shelf by Saturday. I've started Archangel (Samaria, #1) by Sharon Shinn btw. Hopefully Magic is called :)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Our Next Shelf is: 'Goodreads Author'
DIRECT LINK: Goodreads author

This shelf gives TWO teams BINGO ~ Double Trouble (#2) and Serious Series Sluts (#3). But, Double Trouble first needs to get their 'dragons' stamp, whereas SSS only needs to read, rate & review their books for this shelf to win.

Good luck to both teams! Happy Reading!

Kristen (k10bentley) | 422 comments Bummer....it looks like the game will be over soon.

message 564: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Yeah :(

message 565: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Sorry. Looks like it. There's still a slim chance another team could win. But, for that to happen another shelf would have be announced and finished by another team (if it was a winning shelf) before either DT or SSS R,R,&R their books for this shelf. Phew - did that make sense? LOL!

message 566: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Yep it did, Steph. Some of us had the same thought. I guess we'd know by the week.

message 567: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Yep. Been a fun round though. Hope you'll join us for R4 (probably in early 2012).

message 568: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Oh yes. I'm in for the next round. Hopefully it's very early 2012 *hint hint* :P

message 569: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments I'm reading Storm Glass (Glass, #1) by Maria V. Snyder for our last shelf :(

message 570: by Kristen (new)

Kristen (k10bentley) | 422 comments I'm totally in for the next round.

Should I keep a list for this last round? We're so behind on all of our shelves.

message 571: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments It's up to you, Kristen. I'll be reading anyway cos I kinda want to have completed all the shelves before the end (my own little challenge lol) but I don't mind if you don't bother :)

I'm thinking that I won't keep track on this round. It is fun to read all of the shelves, though.

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 1024 comments I'm definately up for the next round. After this game is over, will they play another game or will they just wait until 2012 to start?

message 574: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments We're looking at 2012 before we start the next game Suzanne. Too many people have a lot of stuff happening around the holidays and we don't want to wear out our welcome :)
