Finished reading Divine Misdemeanors (Meredith Gentry, #8) by Laurell K. Hamilton (★★★★). This is a UF series that's very heavy on the sex - erotica even. Though, it did seem to me that the sex scenes in this particular book were tamer than the usual LKH fare.
In a departure from previous books, this one leaves the Fae politics mostly alone and focuses on solving a murder mystery. Someone is killing the Fey in Los Angeles and as both a licensed private investigator and Fey specialist/celebrity, Meredith is called upon to assist with solving the case.
I enjoy a good mystery and good sex and this book had both. Though, if you like very vanilla sex scenes then this book, and in fact, nothing by this author, is for you. Though the protagonist doesn't have indiscriminate sex, she does have multiple lovers which may bother some readers.

I know a lot of UF and PNR can get a little vulgar or rated R, which I don't particularly care for. So if anyone notices that one of these titles falls under the "explicit sex" category, please let me know so I can pick a different book. Thank you!

Jayne Ann Krentz has a stand alone PNR, Sweet Starfire.
If you're willing to look outside romance - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Red Dwarf: Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers, Ender's Game and Phule's Company are all excellent books.

Hmmm. I was going to suggest Showalter's "Alien Huntress" series but I see you're up to date with that one. There's a YA book that's supposed to be coming out on the 11th-Across the Universe-that's set in space. I hear very good things about it. Then there's Deirdre Knight's "Midnight Warriors" series, starting with Parallel Attraction. And Linnea Sinclair & Ann Aguirre! IIRC, they're set in space. I know NU & Vered are always raving about them.
I hope it helps, chica. I hate most space stuff as well & would be stuck on Aliens if I didn't have so many books from Showalter's series on my TBR shelf.

IN Gena Showalter's Stone Prince and Pleasure Slave it's almost like you can see she's trying for something bigger...I think they seem like her first attempts at starting the alien huntress world...I might be wrong, but I think she uses the same aliens and worlds, Kind of cool.

The newest Jane Yellowrock story (just came out yesterday) is even more interesting than the previous ones. And I love the world building, its kind of slow and gradual. As Jane learns things about her world, so do we, and its very clear that Jane doesn't know a lot of "what's out there." We also find out a bit more about Jane's mysterious past. A memory of her past as a child comes to the fore. And NOT a fun one, either. It gives us an idea of just exactly HOW OLD Jane really is, since even she doesn't know for sure. Except that she knows that she's MUCH older than would be guessed by her appearance and what is known of her past--which starts at about age 12, when she's found naked and appearantly recovering from some major trauma and suffering from amnesia.
