Just got the okay on another thread to start participating even though it is my first day on Goodreads. I will be reading
. Also, I noticed a lot of these books are not the first in the series. Can we still participate if we choose to read the first in the series, even if it is not the listed book?

Yes, you can read another book within the same series for any of the list books.
I read Pleasures of a Dark Prince for Dark Desires After Dark. I rated 3 stars but it was more like 3.5 stars. Enjoyable read but not my favorite book of the series. But I'm looking foward to the next one.
I read The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa and finished it today 6/14/2012 , giving it ****. I've been actually putting this book off for weeks now and don't know, since I knew I'll like it. I finally pushed myself to read it and I really really liked it. Loving this dystopian world with vampires that Kagawa created.
Finished Taken by Midnight for Midnight Awakening. Another solid pairing for the Midnight Breeds series. 4 stars.
Midnight Awakening - 4 stars - 23 Jun 12
Really enjoyed this one. I'm pleasantly surprised on how much I'm still liking this series so far, since vampires aren't my preferred supernatural creature. I liked the mythology she created for her vampires and I like how the overall story arc is moving along.

I read Fallen by Lauren Kate and it was pretty bad. The intro of the book revealed the plot of the whole story, so when the main character got to the big "Revelation" the reader already knew it. Dumb. **

Ah, well. Looks like I'll be skipping this week. I read Discount Armageddon earlier this year. Fun book. :)
I read Paranormalcy by Kiersten White and finished it on [7/12/2012], giving it 3 stars. I enjoyed the story, it was likable, the characters as well. However it didn't really impress me all that much. :P

I just finished listening to Lothaire, and I really enjoyed it, especially Cole's trademark black humor. Only she can turn a crazy, homicidal vampire into some kind of dark hero. I give the book 5 stars.

Paranormalcy has an interesting story and characters, but it doesn't make me want to read the next part in the series. But definitely one of the better YA paranormal romance stories out there
read
. It's been years (like 5) since I've left the bdb world, but it's good to be back. Definitely confusing at some points, considering the break I took, but I'm glad V got his HEA-ish. I say "ish" because I pulled a wtf with Jane's new... predicament.

This book was really cute! It was set in the same world as Cat and Bones but talked about her best friend Denise. I think I missed part of Denise's story because I've only read the first 2 books of Cat and Bones but I didn't feel like I missed anything. Very cute, will definately read the next one!

Thanks for the recommendation. As I have both, I shall switch the order then. :)
I again changed my mind and read a different book than I announced. o:)
The Mane Event for 'Bear Meets Girl' by Shelley Laurenston ☆☆☆☆It was nice , for those who like pnr books about shape-shifters (like Breeds series) you can give this a try. :)
Read
for Pure on 8/19really liked this. Many readers have complained that this was too much like the Vampire Academy books, but having not read those, this take on the Greek myths was fresh to me. Will definitely read the sequel.
The Secret History of the Pink Carnation (instead of The Garden Intrigue) - 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4 stars) - 3 Sep 12 -- I've had this book in my TBR for quiet some time. I liked the concept of the book and almost all the characters. The one I had the hardest time with was Amy, the main character of historical portions of the book. Thankfully, she's not the heroine of the next book. I did like Eloise, the main character of the contemporary portion of the book. I plan to continue this series.
*phew* after a bit of a reading marathon over the last few days I finished
last night. 4 stars for a wonderful and heartbreaking story

This is a great list! If anyone is interested, I really loved both
and
, both great reads.I will probably read Onyx but there is so much buzz about Kristen Ashley lately I may try Mystery Man.
I recently read Rock Chick and although I thought it was cute, it needed serious editing. Too long and repetative and so many typos.
I am not sure what to read... As Fran said, there are so many great choices, I think I am going to sleep on this one. :)
Fran, if you are going down the Ashley road, do you want to buddy read? I'm on the fence about this book.
Vi, If I read that one I would love to buddy read it with you. Would a week or so from now work for you?
Fran wrote: "Kim, I loved Obsidian! I hope you like it if you choose that one- really good :)"
Good!!! That's the one I pick then. :)
I'll be reading Inside Out instead of Outside InOn a side note -- nearly 100 lists! Anything special for list 100?? :D
Christina (AKA Babbling) wrote: "I'll be reading Inside Out instead of Outside InOn a side note -- nearly 100 lists! Anything special for list 100?? :D"
Nothing special for list 100. : )
However all books are back in the pool by List 101.
Remember, a book can only appear in one of the lists once.

Translated version is fine.
Kim L wrote: "I think I am going to go with Obsidian for Onyx. Has anyone read this one?"Me too! Her half-blood books are great reading too.
I'm going to try to read
. I remember it was on January Movers & Shakers list, so I hope it is good.
