Welcome to the group, Elizabeth. Feel free to participate in any of the challenges. : )
Yes, you can read another book within the same series for any of the list books.

I read The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa and finished it today 6/14/2012 , giving it ****. I've been actually putting this book off for weeks now and don't know, since I knew I'll like it. I finally pushed myself to read it and I really really liked it. Loving this dystopian world with vampires that Kagawa created.

Midnight Awakening - 4 stars - 23 Jun 12
Really enjoyed this one. I'm pleasantly surprised on how much I'm still liking this series so far, since vampires aren't my preferred supernatural creature. I liked the mythology she created for her vampires and I like how the overall story arc is moving along.

Goal: Read ONE book from the list within a four-week period. Post a brief commentary about the book you read.
Based on Rae Carson's The Girl of Fire and Thorns and Gena Sho..."
I read Fallen by Lauren Kate and it was pretty bad. The intro of the book revealed the plot of the whole story, so when the main character got to the big "Revelation" the reader already knew it. Dumb. **

I read Paranormalcy by Kiersten White and finished it on [7/12/2012], giving it 3 stars. I enjoyed the story, it was likable, the characters as well. However it didn't really impress me all that much. :P

I felt the same way about it, too. I wouldn't mind trying something else from this author -- other than this series, of course

I'm right there with you - finished it last night and gave it 3 stars. Paranormalcy has an interesting story and characters, but it doesn't make me want to read the next part in the series. But definitely one of the better YA paranormal romance stories out there

First Drop of Crimson by Jeaniene Frost
Rating: *****
Read: 8/4/2012
This book was really cute! It was set in the same world as Cat and Bones but talked about her best friend Denise. I think I missed part of Denise's story because I've only read the first 2 books of Cat and Bones but I didn't feel like I missed anything. Very cute, will definately read the next one!

I recommend Vampire Academy over Marked.

I recommend Vampire Academy over Marked."
Thanks for the recommendation. As I have both, I shall switch the order then. :)

It was nice , for those who like pnr books about shape-shifters (like Breeds series) you can give this a try. :)

really liked this. Many readers have complained that this was too much like the Vampire Academy books, but having not read those, this take on the Greek myths was fresh to me. Will definitely read the sequel.

The Secret History of the Pink Carnation (instead of The Garden Intrigue) - 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4 stars) - 3 Sep 12 -- I've had this book in my TBR for quiet some time. I liked the concept of the book and almost all the characters. The one I had the hardest time with was Amy, the main character of historical portions of the book. Thankfully, she's not the heroine of the next book. I did like Eloise, the main character of the contemporary portion of the book. I plan to continue this series.

I finished reading

I will probably read Onyx but there is so much buzz about Kristen Ashley lately I may try Mystery Man.
I recently read Rock Chick and although I thought it was cute, it needed serious editing. Too long and repetative and so many typos.

If I read that one I would love to buddy read it with you. Would a week or so from now work for you?

I loved Obsidian! I hope you like it if you choose that one- really good :)"
Good!!! That's the one I pick then. :)

On a side note -- nearly 100 lists! Anything special for list 100?? :D

Nothing special for list 100. : )
However all books are back in the pool by List 101.
Remember, a book can only appear in one of the lists once.

BTW, I read the translated version, Hope its okay :)"
Translated version is fine.

Me too! Her half-blood books are great reading too.
