I was reading Nora Roberts's series without realizing it was on these lists. I actually finished
a couple days before this specific challenge began which I'd give 4 stars for being a cute wrap up of the series. I guess I'll have to pick another to fit the time of the challenge. I'll probably end up reading
for
. If I read fast enough, maybe I can get both in. :)
I finished reading Obsidian. I ended up rating it 3 stars, although I might have rated it 3.5 if I could have.
finished
today. ★★★★reaaaallly liked it. I was even debating giving it 5 stars, but it didn't really have that extra oomph to kick it into the amazing category. Will definitely read the next one!
zoomed through
. ★★★1/2Did not like it as well as the first but the ending picked it up for a bit. Although the relationship is more intense in the first book, I was glad to see it grow and develop into something deeper. And how refreshing that the couple didn't do the insta-love route!
My attempt to read The Flame Alphabet by Ben Marcus failed. :(The premise and idea for this book sounded very interesting. Also it was on Goodreads Movers & Shakers list in January. But this kind of literary fiction with more philosophy than sf is just not my thing. It reminds me the most in style of Never Let Me Go, so if you liked it you will probably like this one too. I gave up after 15%...

I finished
10/4. 3* Vi and I read it together. There were several things in this story I couldn't get past. Some of the secondary characters were amusing and fun to read about but the two main characters Hawk and Gwen made some choices I didn't like. I may still read others in the series as I'm interested in the other characters' stories.
I finished
on Oct 3. 3* for me too.Apart from what Fran said, I just didn't like Hawk. He was mostly on the alpha-hole territory for me. So far, Kristen Ashley has been more misses than hits.
I finished reading The Sky Is Everywhere I give it full on 5 stars.. the book filled me with mixed emotions made me so happy that I'd break out into crazy Joe-smiles and then it also made me sad enough to cry. I loved both Joe and Toby. Simply could not put the book down until I finished it, amazing amazing read.

I read another one from this list. Finished
today, 10/15. I loved Obsidian so I was so excited for this next one in the series, but it just wasn't as good. A little all over the place, and I just wasn't feeling the same excitement over Daemon and Kat. I will still read the next one in the series :) 3.5*

Just finished
, I liked it. A little slow starting but over all it was good, wondering if there will be a third. 4 stars.
Inside Out - ★★★★★ - 30 Sep 12
Loved it. I figured out, early on, what/where "inside" was, but it was interesting to see how Trella learned the truth. It was chilling to know that so much knowledge was lost; that Trella doesn't fully comprehend what's going on, even after what happens. One of the titles of the people in charge makes me think that Trella and her group aren't completely alone -- that there other groups "out there" (even before I read the blurb for the second book).

Fran, you can read it as a standalone but the brothers from the previous books do put an appearance. I mistakenly read the 3rd without reading the second and I didn't feel that lost. Though, I have to say, I liked the first best :)
Forgot to post.I finished
last Nov. 3. I think the series is getting more and more exciting. 4 stars.
Finish reading
. So many more characters from folklore and myth. Michael Scott indeed is King of Fantasy Children from Ireland. 4 stars.
"Random Book List #104I read Cinder by Marissa Meyer and I only gave it 2 stars. I'm not sure where this book fell short with me. The story was an interesting idea, the world was neat, but the execution of it all just fell really flat and I couldn't get into it. I may try to read the next one and give this author another chance. It's her first book so maybe 2nd time's the charm?
I read
(Nov 21st) I really liked it, it's based on Grimm's The Twelve Dancing Princess but much much darker and twisted. 4 stars!
a bit late but I finished
on 11/21 and loved it - 4 stars. I was not expecting such ...gravitas, which certainly gave the story a bit of depth. I wonder if she's doing a sequel...

I am going to read Eragon for Inheritance. I might have picked it another time, but I didn't finish it, so I will finish it this time!!!
I saw
and had to check it out, so I just read it really quickly. At 800 words, it was short and sweet. Too short, but a cute little glimpse back to a moment in the lives of Sirius and James. If only JKR would decide to write an entire series of prequels, then her fans would be happy.....until she wrote her series of new-gen novels. :) All-in-all a fun little 800-word scene.
Now...I'll try to squeeze in
as well. I've been meaning to read it for a while.
**** 12/9I love mythology but unfortunately I don't read enough books based on mythology so I was delighted to read this one! It's about a demigod who was a child of Zeus... She was thrust into the future from late 1800s with no memories of the past to hide from the villian. Now she's returned with the new memories intact but not the previous memories needed to liberate her and the community.. And this villian is coming after her - oooh! Love it ;)
Yz the Whyz wrote: "Random Book List #109I read
and it was pretty cute. I think it would be awesome if Rowling made a whole other series about Harry's parents, but I think the she's tired of writing Harry Potter. Oh well!
finished
just in time today! 3.5 starsNice effort for a debut novel. Elements of The Hunger Games and Across the Universe. The mystery (what there was) is poorly developed, however the ending was just exciting enough to be forgive the awkwardness at the beginning of the novel.
