Lynn I vaguely remember it being hard for me to get into it too. But after the first two chapters, I think we were at Mircea's appartment at that point, I got sucked in, excuse the pun.
I'm glad you ended up liking it (4 stars I saw). How did you like the new and improved Louis-Cesare? The guy's got some skills doesn't he? ;)

Mel, Louis-Cesare made this book! He was so great. I am in love. It was annoying in the Cassie series when he was no longer in the books. I am guessing that the pictures of the girl Cassie found is actually Dory. This should be insteresting when she finds out about his daughter. I bet Dory gets pissed about Cassie as well. Because he was so great to Cas when she was younger. I really like Dory! Her mouth is awesome! Hard to believe they killed Dracula, the troll was so funny!

I know! I think my biggest crush on a fictional character is on Louis-Cesare. Dare I say I like him even more than Pritkin and Karl Marsten?!?

And I love and adore Dory. I love how hands on she is. She is a real tough chick, without faking it or overdoing it. And it's wonderful to be in her head and learning her vulnerabilities, doubts and softer sides. And she is not stupid or stubborn: she learns to ask for help and open up, even to vampires, which she's been conditioned to hate since she was born.

Ah *sigh* I love this series. I was literally upset after I finished Death's Mistress. :(

Oh Tara, I'm really curious as to how you will like Bitten. Don't be discouraged by the epilogue (the present tense is a little... distracting).
Elena (I keep want to write it with an 'h' why oh why I wonder?) is a great narrator and Armstrong has created a wonderful world. And ofcourse, there's Karl Marsten *sigh*
