Rossy, I'm definitely available to help out.

How about picking for Photojim? I'm not sure if Beth will get the email i sent on time and i'm very sure that Jim will not mind an extra recommendation. I would hate for him to wait any longer. Thank you!

"Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate #1)" by Gail Carriger - This was recommended to me last month and I really loved it! It’s a good combo of paranormal, mystery/suspense, romance, and steampunk. It was a very fun read.
"Bitten (Women of the Underworld #1)" by Kelley Armstrong - Paranormal, urban fantasy, romance
"Grave Sight (Harper Connelly #1)" by Charlaine Harris - Mystery/suspense, paranormal, some romance
"The Awakening (The Vampire Diaries #1)" by LJ Smith - Y/A, paranormal, romance. They recently re-released these books, so you can now get “The Awakening” in a duology with the second book, “The Struggle.” If you’ve seen the TV series on the WB, the books are different and much better, IMO.
"Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte - I didn’t see it on your shelves, but I did see a lot of Austen and “Wuthering Heights,” so I thought you might like it.
Hope you find one of these interesting!

My favorite genre is Historical Romance, so I'll begin with:
Saving Grace by Julie Garwood, which takes place in 13th century Scotland & England, and has plenty of intrigue, but is also full of fun. I've read it at least 3x
OR start Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series with The Duke And I. There are lots of silly and lighthearted events in this series, even tho the first book starts out in a more serious vein. If you fall for the Bridgerton family, you'll want to keep going in the series.
For Contemporary Romance, try Mackenzie's Mountain OR Sarah's Child, both by Linda Howard, and two more books that I reread regularly.
For Paranormal, one of my favorite series is Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling books, so begin that with Slave to Sensation OR start J.R. Ward's series about the Black Daggerhood Brotherhood with Dark Lover
No matter which you choose, you've got some great reading ahead!!

Rossy, for you I will wait as long as it takes. Your work and devotion are greatly appreciated. Just thought I'd check one more time before bed. Should have been to bed hours ago, but such is life.

Jim, your book list is really interesting. I may have to go back to it at a later date to add some books to mine. Some of the authors that I've recommended, you've read already. However, I've suggested some of their books that I've absolutely loved.
Eric Jerome Dickey
The Other Woman- I could not put this book down. I believe this was his absolute best book! The ending literally had me in shock. I loved this one.
Friends and Lovers- My first EJD book. I liked this one better than most of the others with an exception to the one noted above.
Malcolm Gladwell
Blink- My friend suggested I read this one. He claims this is his best book so far.
Lora Leigh- I love Lora Leigh's Breeds series!! The books below are my favs in this order.
Elizabeth's Wolf (Breeds, #3)
Tanner's Scheme
Mercury's War
The Help by Kathryn Stockett- I've heard a lot of great buzz about this book.
I noticed Sense and Sensibility on your list. I recommended Georgette Heyer to someone else. Austen and Heyer are often compared so, I thought you may enjoy her. So, I'm going to recommmend the Heyer books I recommended to Jennefer.
Georgette Heyer
Devil's Cub-All About Romance placed this book on their top 100 romance novels list. I believe this was her most popular book.
Frederica- Also on their top 100
Venetia- Also on their top 100
The Grand Sophy- sorry, I picked it for Jennefer simply because it looks like a really good book.
I dont want to leave you without a romantic suspense book so, I'm recommending Over the Edge by Suzanne Brockmann. This is the third book in the series, but I believe the books in this series stand alone.
Let me know if I'm totally off base and I'll pick again. Enjoy!

Thanks so much BJ! I'm going to pick based on what I have on hand. I'm definitely going to try Saving Grace really soon (maybe later this month after I buy the book), but I think I'll pick Mackenzie's Mountain now. Yayyyyy!! I'm excited! Also, thanks BJ for picking for me!

I picked these because I saw that you've read the Sookie Stackhouse & BDB books
Bitten - Kelley Armstrong
Cry Wolf - Patricia Briggs
Halfway To The Grave - Jeaniene Frost
Moon Called - Patricia Briggs
Covet - J.R. Ward (a great spin off of the BDB)
Unclean Spirits - M.L.N. Hanover
Then I thought of a couple non-paranormal books (which was harder than I thought, lol)
25th Hour - David Benioff
Roald Dahl - Skin
Valentine - Tom Savage
I hope you find something in these recommendations!

Gosh, you're just too cute. If you were here i would rub your bald head!ROFL
Sorry if you get more than one recommendation. I rather you have a few than none. Besides, it's not like you don't read a lot.

You're right but he did wanted recommendations.LOL
Besides, i think BookThumb didn't notice my response so i can always have her pick for someone else. Beth recommended something for him as well, but that's fine.
Anyone want an extra rec for them?

*off to get a glass of wine and ereader*

No worries Tosca, you're always prompt on participating in the challenge. I figure if i didn't hear from you then something had kept you away. I'm glad you were able to at least recommend a book to Leah. Now she knows she has to read that one!LOL
If you can Tosca, BookThumb made some recommendations for you. Just pick one you'd like to try this month and let me know if you want to pick for someone, i can always figure it out.

Then you have Regina or Heather C to pick from. If those i assigned make another recommendation for them, i'm sure they would rather have 2 than none.

If anyone else want some company reading the same book picked for this month, try the link and see who joins you!

Heather: I have 3 recommendations for you that, I think, cover a wide enough range that you'll (hopefully) find something that catches your interest:
1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - set during WWII in Germany about a young girl who steals books and is narrated by Death
2. Steamed by Katie MacAlister - I saw that you had a few of hers on your TBR list but this one is the start of a new steampunk romance series (think airships, corsets and time travel)
3. Clockwork Heart by Dru Pagliassotti - romantic fantasy featuring a winged courier who encounters terrorism and murder
4. Strange Brew edited by P.N. Elrod - paranormal romance/urban fantasy anthology
If you're not totally comfortable with these choices let me know - I have screeds more I can suggest :-)

I picked two books I didn't see on your bookshelf but that I absolutely loved... you can choose either one;
- Paradise- Judith McNaught
- The Grand Sophie- Georgette Heyer
Don't apologise - I was later! Am going to go with The Grand Sophy by Georgette Heyer. The first romance novel I ever read was Devil's Cub by Georgette Heyer (it belonged to my great gran and I was 8 or 9) and I've loved her stuff ever since, although I've never read this one. Thank you!

No problem! I like making putting together recs for people.
I was already becoming a fan of steampunk before reading "Soulless," but reading it made me an even bigger fan. I added a few more books with steampunk elements to my TBR pile as a result.

have you read Clockwork Heart by Dru Pagliassotti? and Boneshaker by Cheryl Priest? and Crimson City by Liz Maverick? these three (plus the Carriger title) put me on to steampunk in a big way. am now devouring anything and everything I can find ;)

Gigi, thank you for the recommendations! I'll go with your first instinct and read an Eric Jerome Dickey book. I'll have to read The Other Woman another time as I happened to have just bought Friends and Lovers last week. This just gives me a reason to have it have spent an unusually short time on Mt. ToBeRead. Thank you so much.
Beth, I'm never one to turn away any recommendations. I'm intrigued by several. First, I've not yet read a Kelly Armstrong book and would like to, so great choice there. Second, a Roald Dahl I haven't read?! I didn't know such a thing existed. Thank you for that. But I'm sure that I will be reading Covet by J.R. Ward for much the same reason as Gigi's rec - I bought it last week.
Rossy, thank you again! Don't tell my wife about the bald head rub. She might get the wrong idea. ;-)

Sshh, it'll be our little secret! Have a good day at work!

I'm so sorry that this is coming to you so very late! Please forgive! My rec's for you are:
Need by Carrie Jones
Edge of Hunger by Rhyannon Byrd
Vampire Queens Servant by Joey Hill (she also has a mermaid/angel series which is awesome)
Fallen by Lauren Kate
Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning (her Highland books are great as well)
I hope you like what I've found for you! And again I'm sorry for the delay in getting the list to you! Enjoy and let me know how you like them!

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
You Slay Me by Katie MacAlister

I am going to delve into Pleasure Unbound and Bitten. Can't wait to start reading! Thanks for the rec's!

Alright everyone should be set with their recommendations. If for some reason there's still someone missing, please let me know. I still have my trusty volunteers that can make it happen very quickly.LOL
*Finally off to bed* Happy reading everyone!

Hi, Kristine
I liked your recs! I´m going to read Fallen - Lauren Kate (love the cover and the plot). But I`m going to look at Edge of Hunger too, because it seems very good.
I also will look for Joey Hill´s books - she is a new to me author.
thanks!

Jim, you are very welcome. Sorry, I wasn't able to get them to you before you went to bed. Please let me know what you think of both Friends and Lovers and The Other Woman.

lol, no worries! Never worked out if Skin is a collection of short stories from other anthologies or a stand alone by it's self, anyways, always a great read! :)

Yzthe Wiz - I will pick a book from your selection too! Thanks for helping out!

Whitney, My Love with us??? We could start a discussion thread if enough people are interested :)
"
FYI- for those of you that are interested in reading Whitney, My Love this month with us a thread has been started in the new "Dare you to read" challenges section.
Whitney My Love By Judith McNaught Discussion

Wow, so many too pick from! xD. A lot of them see me-ish. I think I'll read bitten. I love Kelley's young adult series so this aught to be good, and I previewed it in google too haha...."
I know what you mean about previewing books online - thats how I ended up buying Her Notorious Viscount last year, and I usually avoid anything historical! :) I hope you enjoy Bitten!

Thank you for the recs, Harper! I appreciate it. I think I'm gonna do either "Soulless" or "Bitten". I have to see which one the library has. LOL

Tosca, I completely understand being busy. It's no big deal, and there's no need to feel too bad :)

Cool! Let me know what you think! I still have to read "Bitten" myself but it's on my TBR list.

I had "Clockwork Heart" on my to-read list, but not the other two. They're on there now, though! I actually started getting into steampunk after I saw some people in Chicago dressed up in a steampunk/Neo-Victorian style and it got me interested enough to start researching, but the only book I've read with steampunk content so far has been "Soulless."

Hi Katie - hope you like it! It was published in 1983 (from memory) and is YA. A classic New Zealand YA novel.

Yzthe Wiz - I will pick a book from your selection too! Thanks for helping out!"
Ah well, at least you're not left with nothing.
Happy reading you guys! Don't forget to come back here once you're done and let your partner(s) know you finish the book chosen.

Tosca,
Thanks for the recs. I think I will try Steamed. I just downloaded the sample on kindle. Thanks.

As for the historical recommendations, I may have Jane Austin in my bookshelf, but that doesn't mean I like historicals. In fact I've sort of been rather vocal in my hatred of them. Give me a contemporary any day.

Oh me too. I refuse to read a historical unless i ABSOLUTELY have to.

Ooops, sorry Jim about the historical pics. Well, Milk in my coffee wasn't one of my favs, but by all means go ahead. A lot of other people liked it. Let me know what you think of it.
Well, believe it or not, historicals are not my favs but if it involves a good love story i can tolerate it.

"
That was a quick read for you. I read your review and was glad to see it did pick up at least on the last 1/3 of the book.
Yes, there were several unanswered areas in the book. Maybe the author can address those in the next book.
