March - Pick It For Me! Challenge

Here are my choices for you I hope you like them.
I noticed that a big shelf on yours is historical romance so I thought you might like [book:The Other Boleyn Girl|3747..."
Great choice, I hope you like it and it is very different to Twilight :)

Your book selection list is so similar to mine - it is awesome! Sorry my selections were a little late."
No worries, and you're not late, I was justy trying to cheer up Photojim saying he was not alone.
But back to the recs, THANKS! They seem great, I'm torn between The Gargoyle and Kushiel's Dart, not sure which I'm gonna go with yet. But I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.

From your TBR shelf there are a couple I would definitely recommend. First up is Seeker by Cate Tiernan. I love the entire Wicca/Sweep series and reread them probably once a year. I couldn't see any others on your TBR, but I would recommend starting with Book of Shadows as the storyline gets pretty complicated in the lead up to Seeker which is 10th (if I remember rightly!).
Also you have Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris on your TBR too - Sookie rules so I'd recommend it. It looks like you enjoyed the Twilight books, so hopefully you'll enjoy Sookie too.
It looks like you have a lot of dystopian literature on your shelves as well, so I think you'll enjoy The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I read it years ago in school, and it's the kind of book that sticks with you.
Paranormal-wise, I'm pretty confident you'll like Bitten by Kelley Armstrong as you enjoyed her Darkest Powers books. It's more adult in content (I think - I haven't managed to get to the DP books yet) but is a great story. If you're not a fan of werewolves, you can skip ahead to Dime Store Magic (Book 3) which is witches or No Humans Involved (Book 7) which is a necromancer. I'd personally start with Bitten, but then I'm obsessive about reading things in order :)
You also seem to have a lot of books that are now movies/tv shows on your shelves, so I'd recommend either Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman (which is nothing like the movie beyond the absolute basics), White Oleander by Janet Fitch (which is pretty close to the movie, plus usually available cheap as it's an ex-Oprah pick) or The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides (which is far better than the movie).
Last up, you have quite a lot of YA/teen books so I'd recommend The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. I've read the book and seen the movie in the last few weeks. Both rule, though the book is a little better (most are!) as the movie was changed about to be complete by itself and not need a sequel. I'd recommend book first, as I went to the movie halfway through the book and got a bit muddled.
Hope there's something here you like, if not give me a shout and I'll look for something else.

If anyone else is still missing recommendations, I'd b..."
Thank you Harper, i'll keep in mind if someone else needs it.

You are so great Nairabell, thank you so much!

I added all three books that you recommended to my TBR shelf, but have settled on The Lovely Bones for my March read. I just requested it from the library, and hopefully, I will get it soon.
Thanks for the recommendations again.
(Katie sent her recommendation to me through PM. For those who are curious what she sent me, I'm reposting her message:
"Hi XD I'm ur pick it 4 u buddy so these r my suggestions (I hope I don't tell u ones uve already read u have large lists lol); time of the eagle by jordan sherryl, the lovely bones by alice sebold, and beguilement. By lois McMasters bujold. I hope u like these books!" )

Thanks, Barbara! I actually am up to all your suggestions so have printed out the list to see what I can find at the library. Especially the mystery thrillers. I've yet to delve into any vampire/werewolf type so am glad you went gentle there. LOL! I'll let you know what I decide. Thanks!!

I look to your TBR and have some suggestions:
Shayla Black - Tempt Me with Darkness
Sherrilyn Kenyon - Fantasy Lover
Diana Gabaldon - Outlander..."
Thanks for these wonderful recommendations, Regina! I've added Wicked Ties and The Strain to my TBR list. I will read Fantasy Lover this month. I have been putting it off way too long.

Ok sounds good! Thanks for the heads up Rosy!

Midnight's Daughter by Karen Chance

or Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

or Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole

I'll pick the A Girl's Guide to Vampires. I've already read the Sookie books, but they were before I was on Goodreads and so I'm planning on giving a rating when I re-read them before the next book comes out. I loved them!! Great picks for me!

Here are my two picks for you. One is on your to-read list and I didn't see the other one. If I missed it somehow, let me know and I can come up with a couple other choices.

Hey Sherrill
Thankyou for the recommendations I have chosen to go with The Hollow by Jessica Verday and if I get time this month I may even try to read Need by Carrie Jones aswell :)

I will check to see if my list is available - it should be unless I foof'd that up.

Thanks Yz for letting me know. I can cross Katie out of the missing.LOL
If anyone else was sent something via email from their partner, please let me know so i don't have to send them another reminder!

Wow, so many too pick from! xD. A lot of them see me-ish. I think I'll read bitten. I love Kelley's young adult series so this aught to be good, and I previewed it in google too haha. Read a sentence from like every book on google preview, and that one was the most immediately engaging. Will let you know how I enjoy it!

I sent an email yesterday to those who were still missing to make the recommendations. They actually have until 10pm tonight to make them, so please give them some time. Perhaps some of them are still at work? If i don't hear from any of them, am already making note of who still needs recommendation and plan to pair you very quickly.

Thanks, Julie. I've put you down for a list if i end up needing it by 10pm tonight. So please check back half hour past, in case you're chosen.

Katie, Annie has already made the recommendations for you. Check one page back to see it.

Hi Katie - reposting for you:
Hi Katie.
Interesting list - a couple of New Zealand authors there - and not the well-known ones either. Yay!
In the New Zealand young adult theme, I would recommend:
Changeover: A Supernatural Romance by Margaret Mahy or See Ya, Simon by David Hill (if you choose this one, have some tissues ready).
For vaguely paranormal romance style books, I'd recommend:
The Fire Rose or The Serpent's Shadow by Mercedes Lackey.
For straight fantasy, you could try Charles de Lint - maybe The Blue Girl.
Hope you can find something in there you can get, like, and haven't read!
Annie

Killer Takes All
There are several others on your list I want to read as well. I'll let you know how it goes, thanks for the recommendations!

Hey Bridgit - no worries. Thanks for all of the choices. I will try Outlander as my library has it in and it will help me with another challenge. :)

Thought i'll give you some suggestions before I go to bed, so this is sort of a 'rushed' process. : )
Gabriel's Ghost - You mentioned you enjoy a little sci-fi, so how about a sci-fi romance? If you don't fall for Sully while reading this...
Lord of the Fading Lands - a lovely fantasy romance that you really need to check out
Mr. Perfect - just finished this one today, and it is a great combination of wit, mystery and romance
Hope you will find something that interests you. If not, let me know, and maybe tomorrow, when I'm wide awake, I'll be able to come up with something more.

I picked two books I didn't see on your bookshelf but that I absolutely loved... you can choose either one;
- Paradise- Judith McNaught
- The Grand Sophie- Georgette Heyer
