Paula (pauldajo) I finished reading Live Free or Die. It was a definate cozy mystery. On the whole the story was uncomplicated and easy to follow.

Paula (pauldajo) I finished The Dark Lord of Derkholm. A big corporation CEO type bad guy traps a demon into allowing him to control a parellel magical world. This soulless, money mad, power hungry, dead eyed off-worlder turns Derk's world into a role playing theme park destroying the land and killing many people from both worlds. However nothing lasts forever.

The Last Little Blue Envelope (Little Blue Envelope, #2) by Maureen Johnson
was fun.

Jessica B | 292 comments I finished Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie and Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning over the weekend. Both great 4 star reads!

message 1356: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments Jut finished with My Dearest Enemy by Connie Brockway . I would recommend it if you like a story where the two main characters begin their relationship via letters. The characters were very well developed but the plot was missing a little something. 3.5 star read.

Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth

It was good. It does reminds me of the Hunger Games a lot, but in a good way. Lots of action and a cute romance

That is good, I keep hearing good things about this one.

Jessica B | 292 comments Finished Inside Out (Insider, #1) by Maria V. Snyder today. I gave it 4 stars but I might have been a little generous as it did get off to a bit of a slow start but picked up to have a very fast paced ending.

Goddess of Legend (Goddess Summoning, #7) by P.C. Cast

Cute. Just like the rest of the books in the series. Really, they're all similar.

That is why I quit them. When I read the second book it was so much of what she had already read that I just wasn't up to reading the same thing again and again.

I liked the one on Apollo. I thought there was a difference between book 1 and 2, but after that.... :)

I have this book and hope to read it soon ive started this new thing where i fill my shelf next to my bed (its like a night stand with a little space for a row of books) with books that i need to read with in the next months. Since that space is filled I will have to move that one over when some space clears off.

message 1365: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments I finished reading Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James and I absolutely adored it!

message 1366: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished The Taste of Night which I didn't care for and The Touch of Twilight which I liked a lot better than 'The Taste of Night'.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments I really need to read some Julie James. I keep hearing nothing but good things about her books.

message 1368: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I have a couple of hers to read, but I am so backed up on some of my favs they will have to wait. Reading Demonglass (Hex Hall 2) right now and still have Night Huntress 5, Chicagoland 4, Morganville 10 and Elemental Assassin 4 to read.

Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1) by Larissa Ione

I knew before reading this book that it took place in the same world as her other series, but it didn't realize that it was continuing the events of the other series and that it wasnt a completely new cast. So I hadnt read the other books and suddenly a gazillion characters dropped in and it got overwhelming. Also most of them were previous couples from her other books, so it was kind of...uh when all the characters were all happily in love and pregnant.
But it was good and I managed to follow it without prior knowledge. Really interested in reading the rest of the series

message 1372: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments Yeah, Zuleika, it wasn't a new series, more a spin off.

message 1373: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) Finished Queen of Shadows (Shadow World, #1) by Dianne Sylvan and I thought it was really good. It's like dark UF and PNR all rolled into one.

Back to The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2) by Brandon Sanderson which I'm enjoying too :)

message 1374: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments I just finished Spider's Bite and I really liked it.

Now I've got to hurry up and finish City of Glass because I got the next in from the library yesterday. I stopped reading it about 4 months! ago and I'm picking it up again. ;)

message 1375: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments I finished Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward on the weekend and I really enjoyed it! Another great read from the BDB series!

message 1376: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I just read The Night Bookmobile by Audrey Niffenegger and to be perfectly frank, I'm not sure what I felt about it. I've been thinking about it since I've finished, but its not necessarily been good thoughts. I don't know. The book is about a woman who on her way home finds a bookmobile that houses every book that she's ever read. The bookmobile pops up occasionally over the next 20 or so years. Its about her growth as a reader.

Spoiler for the twist/surprise ending at the end of the book: (view spoiler)

Strings Attached by Judy Blundell

If I hadn't needed it for a challenge, I wouldn't have finished it. I was bored. Excessively...

message 1378: by [deleted user] (new)

i read demon glass (Finally. tried to read it when the group did and couldn't get it in time) and it was SUCH A CLIFFHANGER! Do you think Rachel Hawkins will publish it early if she finishes early? Like, if you go to facebook, the hex hall series says ''Finishing up the third book'' or somthing like that..

message 1379: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I doubt the publishing schedule will change. Most books are done being written about a year before we see them.

message 1380: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished The Year of the Griffin. This was a reread, but I had forgotten most of the significant parts of the book that it was like reading a vaguely familar story. I missed many connections that first time through. I enjoyed the read and wish there were more stories surrounding the land of Derk.

I started The Gathering. Wonder if it's goning to be a cliffhanger. The Summoning was an irritating cliffhanger, but I adjusted.

message 1381: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
Her YA books are written as one big book cut into three parts when you boil it all down, so ya, there's a cliffhanger.

message 1382: by [deleted user] (new)

uh-oh... Yeah, its a big cliff hanger (The gathering). :D

message 1383: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished Power of Three and thoroughly enjoyed it.

message 1384: by [deleted user] (new)

Any good free kindle ya books? My dads got a kindle on the tablet.only problem is there's no good books...

message 1385: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished listening to The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I don't know about Kindle, but I sometimes get some decent books from B&N (he can install a B&N app for his tablet too).

I have recently got Demon Lord by T.C. Southwell , has a cheesy cover but great ratings. If you join the Nook group here on GR people lend out their LendMe ebooks. The problem is you can only led the title out once, and the reader only gets two weeks to read it. I have a whole bunch of ebooks, if you tell me what you are interested in I can tell you if I can lend it to you.

Nice title. I just finished Divine by Choice (Partholon, #2) by P.C. Cast . If you like P.C. Cast's adult series, you'll like this one as well. I'm about half way through The Hob's Bargain by Patricia Briggs . So far it's better than I had expected.

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I finished Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma yesterday and OMG, what a book! It was so emotional and angst ridden, I absolutely loved it. It has been a while for me since I have read a really great 5 star read. I have been in a slump lately.

I have this in my TBR....

Tya | 846 comments Well, I haven't technically finished it yet but I'm in the middle of Uncommon Criminals (Heist Society, #2) by Ally Carter and I'm loving it so far, just as much as I loved the first one. Things between Kat and Hale are really coming to a head, I just hope she doesn't add a third guy just for angst or drama or whatever. This is the cutest series. Ever.

So jealous... gotta get my hands on this one.

Oh!

I just finished:

Blood Magic (Blood Journals, #1) by Tessa Gratton

And I thought it was great! I totally recommend it to anyone who is into YA paranormal reads. I's full of fictional history, love and violence. In fact, lots of killing in this book. One specific death made me super sad :(
But it was still amazing!
