Notes from an Island is an interesting peek into the personal life of much-loved Finnish author, Tove Jansson. 4★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Maplecroft by Mary-Clare Terrill
A dual timeline novel, with the historical timelines based on actual love letters written by the author's great-grandparents to each other. This is what made me give the novel a go. The historical timeline makes it a good read.

One Hundred Shadows by Hwang Jungeun is described as an 'offbeat fantasy' it's set in a poor working class part of Seoul where a group of slum buildings housing many small businesses run by people on the margins of society are scheduled for demolition to make way for new developments.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Now I'm really looking forward to Irish author Donal Ryan's August follow-up to The Spinning Heart, because the characters in this award-winning novel are unforgettable. Terrific read.
My review of The Spinning Heart
My review for The Chasm by AA Bronwyn Hall, which is a Group Read for July.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
If further books in Tess Gerritsen's Martini Club series are as good as The Spy Coast, they're definitely on my TBR. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This Motherless Land by Nikki May
A loose retelling of Jane Austen's 'Mansfield Park', but works much better if you don't read it as a retelling.

Shadows of Winter Robins, Louise Wolhuter's second novel is thought-provoking and unsettling. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Lives and Deaths of Harry Blunt by Obediah Keane
An entertaining indie fantasy about a man who grabs a second chance for life to save his daughter. Minor flaws, major fun.

Roger Clark's narration of Evan Help Us, a particularly entertaining episode of the Constable Evans series by Rhys Bowen is, as always, excellent. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
