Not my usual fare but I really enjoyed David Grann's totally engrossing non fiction account of the shipwreck of The Wager in 1741 and its aftermath.

You don’t have to be nine years old to enjoy this school story by Patrick Ness. You can be sixty-nine and be laughing out loud on the first page, and many times thereafter. 5★s for Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody and looking forward to the sequel. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm new to popular crime author Don Winslow, and I've been enjoying his entertaining short stories. Inept surfing accountant Downward Facing Doug relies on his Dawn Patrol surfer friends for protection from beach bullies, but he gets his revenge. Satisying. 😊
My review of Downward Facing Doug
Free Billy is another charming short story from crime writer Don Winslow about a young guy who decides he can live for free. Good fun.

One of my top reads of the year!
The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria Augusta von Trapp
A memoir by the woman whose life inspired 'The Sound of Music'. Recommended only to staunch fans of the musical/movie.

The Perfect Passion Company by Alexander McCall Smith was an enjoyable audiobook, despite the occasionally dubious Australian accent of one of the main characters! (She did a pretty good job 99% of the time)https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Lion Dancers by Cai Tse
The story could have been finetuned a little more in this MG graphic novel, but the details of lion dancing were impeccable. The author is a lion dancer with the Chinese Youth league of Australia.
