Shot during a mission and falling to what he thinks is his death, Branch has one regret….
Navy SEAL Hunter “Branch” Green has one goal when he leaves the military hospital—finally tell the pretty flight medic how he feels about her and her autistic teenage son. He’s played it safe for too long, but the mission to win her trust and her heart might be his most challenging yet.
After lifetime of being criticized and disappointed by her family who should have loved her, single mom Hannah Day is fiercely independent. Her walls have walls, and if her son needs anything or something needs doing, she relies only on herself. But the protective, handsome SEAL with a dimpled smile, who has a soft streak for her son a mile wide and a need to help others, is difficult to resist.
Hannah wants to stay strong, but when she’s summoned home to Texas for her youngest sister’s speedy, high society wedding, something feels off, even dangerous. Can she rely on Hunter’s help or will this be one more disappointment for Hannah and her son?
I am loving this series and the awesome heroes, they are strong, caring and determined to keep the woman and their families safe, and this time we see Hunter “Branch” Green finally open up about how he feels about Hannah Day mother of Collin, it took being shot down and spending time in hospital to do so, will they find their HEA?
Hannah is mother to thirteen year old Collin who is autistic she is a medic who works hard and is so independent and that is mainly because of her life growing up, coming from a wealthy family where her looks and attitude have been criticized and then to fall pregnant caused scandal, Hannah moved away and has bought her beautiful son up alone, so when Hunter opens up about the way he feels just when she is invited to be bridesmaid at her youngest sister’s wedding Hannah’s emotions are flying, will she be able to accept someone else in her life?
Branch steps up to join Hannah and Collin in their life this is so important to him and when they travel to Texas for the wedding Branch feels that there may be some danger involved and nothing is going to take Hannah and Collin away from him now that he has revealed his love for them both, will he be able to keep them safe?
This is such a fabulous story filled with emotion and danger I love Branch and Hannah and of course Collin catching up with the other SEALs and their partners and family had me turning the pages, I do highly recommend this one and the series, bring on Silver’s story, I can’t wait.
My thanks to Tule Publishing for my digital copy to read and review.
I liked this book and wasn't bored, but I didn't exactly love it. Why not? After all, it has several of my favorite tropes, including suspense and military romance, and the heroine was smart and strong. I think it boils down to two things: zero conflict between the hero and heroine and a rushed conclusion.
The book is the third in a series, but it was my first. I've read and enjoyed other books by the author, but this cast of characters was new to me. I was able to follow along okay, but there were a lot of references to the two previous books, and I did feel a little bit like I was missing something. Presumably, Hunter and Hannah appeared in the previous books, and they already knew each other by the time this one began. By the time we see them here, Hunter is already sold on Hannah as The One, and he is equally enamored of her son Collin, who has a form of autism. Hence, we miss out on how the h and H met and how Hunter and Collin's relationship developed. I also found that I wanted to see more of Hannah in action as a flight medic. There's one scene, but otherwise, it's kind of pushed to the background.
Instead, the plot surrounds Hannah's sudden invitation to visit her estranged family down in Texas for her little sister's sudden wedding. That part of the plot seems a little blown out of proportion when I think there could have been a story with a slightly milder version of the family antagonism that Hannah experiences. The villains are over the top and the heroes are a little bit schmaltzy.
That said, the book moves at a decent pace and the characters are all quite interesting. I think the ending suffers a little bit from being rushed and having a few chapters overlap timewise, which gets a little bit confusing.
So in short, what would bump this up a star or two for me? I want to know more about Hannah and her experience having her son so young. In fact, I couldn't figure out how old she was when she had him. At one point, she's described as being 28 and I know her son is 13. If I did the math right, that means she had him very, very young, and since she was basically kicked out of the family, there's got to be a lot more to her story of how she dealt with being on her own while still a child herself. I also want a little more conflict between our heroes. The utter admiration and devotion they have to each other is sweet, but it reminds me a little too much of the Susan Stoker type of romance where both the hero and heroine are too good to be believed. And finally, I needed the ending to be fleshed out a little bit.
Don't let all these criticisms keep you from reading this book. It was entertaining and I did like the characters. And I probably would pick up another book in the series.
I received an ARC of this book for free from the author and BookSirens. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!
At the outset, single mom and flight medic Hannah is at the hospital visiting Hunter, the man she’s developed feelings for who’s recovering from an injury he received on a mission. When he confesses that thoughts of seeing her again kept him alive while he was in danger, she becomes skittish and doesn’t return to his bedside for the rest of his stay.
Hunter has fallen for the capable Hannah as well as her teenage son Collin who has a form of autism with severe sensory processing and communication issues. When she’s summoned to Texas for her sister’s hasty society wedding, Hunter steps up as her plus one for moral support and to protect her from her family’s over the top criticism and ill treatment of her.
What neither of them expected was a situation that threatened Hannah in a deadly manner once they arrive in the Lone Star state. Hunter is compelled to protect his nascent love and her son.
This novella was a fairly short read, the third in this series, and there were lots of references to and appearances by characters from previous installments. It’s not necessary to have read them to follow along, but it might help to establish the origins of Hannah and Hunter’s relationship. It's also curious that the author casually mentions at the beginning of the book that Hunter had a sensory room set up in his home for Collin, which would be a massive gesture to say the least from anyone, let alone someone with whom one is merely hoping to be involved.
Fans of Susan Stoker and Melissa Foster will love this book, as it’s very much in that military/protector genre. However, the insults and criticisms from the wedding planner to Hannah’s family are beyond overdone, which is why I didn’t love the book. The reveal(s) were rushed and fairly anticlimactic, which is largely why I’ve given it 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
I was furnished an advance reader copy from the author and booksirens, and I’m sharing my honest thoughts.
Sworn to Defend is the third book in Charlee James exciting series, Sworn Navy SEALs. This book features Hunter Branch Green and Hannah Day. Both characters have been involved in the storylines for the first two books. Hannah is a single mom to a teenage boy with autism. It is great how the author includes him and history in the story. Ms. James does an excellent job explaining the disabilities of him and his friends and shows a lot of empathy towards them. Branch and Hannah’s son Collin developed a relationship early on and she is very grateful for him and his SEAL brother’s friendship. As the book opens the men are away on a mission and Branch is injured badly. While he is in the hospital he realizes that he has always been attracted to Hannah and vows to ask her out once he gets home.
Hannah is from a wealthy family in Texas who basically disowned her when she became pregnant and unmarried and would not abort the baby. The baby’s father was not someone her family approved of. Then sadly, he died before the baby was born in a boating accident. She moved away, only seeing her family once a year. She has two sisters who remained in Texas. At the start of the book she receives a call from her younger sister asking her to be a bridesmaid in her wedding in two weeks. She doesn’t want to go back to Texas but senses that something is not right about the situation. She learns that her groom is going to become CEO of his family’s company and his dad is running for political office. Her older sister doesn’t want any scandal as her husband is running for mayor. Hannah’s mom is all about appearances and has strict instructions on how she will dress, what she will be doing, etc.
Hannah shares with Branch about the wedding and trip to Texas. After an unpleasant encounter with the wedding planner at Hannah’s house, he decides he will travel along with to make sure she and Collin are not treated badly. He also admits to her his feelings for her and she confesses her feelings as well. They act on their attraction. When they arrive, they realize something is definitely wrong and her family is sabotaging her. Branch and his brothers do some digging on the family and learn shocking information.
There is a lot of wonderful romance and some suspense. There’s some surprising twists and a happy ending. The characters except Hannah’s mother and older sister are very genuine and lovely. It is great to see all the SEAL brothers and their significant others and kids in this book too. Charlee does a fantastic job with the story and the exciting backstory in each of the books. This is another five star book!
I was fortunate to receive an ARC from Tule Publishing in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book and I have loved the whole series. The friendship that the Seals have is so true and they are really a band of brothers and have each other backs. Here we see Hunter Green finally telling us that he has true feelings for the flight medic Hannah Day and also loves her autistic son Collin. Hunter was shot while on a mission and he fell to what everyone thought was his death. Thank God that he survived and now he has one mission when he leaves the military hospital and that is to win Hannah's heart and trust and get through the high wall, she has built around herself and her son to protect them.
Hannah has had a very hard life despite her family being wealthy. She was the one who could never do anything right. She was born with freckles and her mother took her to lots of doctors trying to get rid of them. Her mother was shocked to find money could not get rid of what God had created. Her looks and attitude were criticized all of her life. When she finally got pregnant from a lowly boy working at their club, she had embarrassed them for the last time, and they disowned her. She has learned to depend on herself, and she will get it done, depending on others has caused her disappointment too many times. Hannah is ordered to come home every year just for appearance's sake not out of love. And she hates the time being there, the only one that she really enjoys being around is her little sister. And now she has orders to come home for her little sister's wedding. A wedding that she does not want but has no idea how to get out of it. The bride and groom agree that neither one of them want to get married, but their parents have arranged it.
Will her sister get married? Will she find some way to escape the marriage? Will Hunter be able to win Hannah's heart and trust? You really should check out this great book. I know you will love it. I did.
I got this book from BookSirens and will be happy to leave my review.
Sworn to Defend is the third book in Charlee James’ fantastic Sworn Navy SEALs series. It is a military romantic suspense story filled with amazing characters, intense chemistry and inspiring characters. It was written in third person, primarily from the point of view of both the hero, Navy SEAL Hunter “Branch” Green and the heroine, flight medic and single mom Hannah Day.
After a near-death experience Hunter makes the decision to show Hannah and her neuro-divergent son, Collin how much he cares for them. His biggest challenge? Winning Hannah’s trust, while trying to help her navigate the emotional challenges that come from dealing with her parents and siblings. When Hannah and Collin are ordered home to attend her younger sister’s high society wedding, Branch decides to accompany them and act a as buffer between them. But when Hannah’s life is threatened, will Branch be able to save her in time? Read it and find out?
I loved the connection that was evident from the moment Branch, Hannah and her son, Collin met. Their interactions were open, honest and accepting. This was a fantastic addition to this amazing series! All the books in the Sworn Navy SEALs series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone. However, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the overall series storyline. I can’t wait to read story the next story in this series.

The author delivers another winner in this latest addition to the Navy SEALs series. This time, Hunter/Branch Green, whom we’ve met in previous books, gets his story. Recently injured in a mission, he’s been given three months of medical leave. The silver lining is that he plans to use that time to not only get closer to single mom and flight medic Hannah Day and her sweet autistic son Collin, but show her they belong together. We watch as the feelings grow between these two, and when Hannah’s wealthy family summons her to the wedding of her younger sister, Hunter is determined to stay close to her and Collin and not let anyone cause stress or harm. But her family has ulterior motives that put Hannah in danger. Will Hunter and his team be able to keep her safe? This action packed story was filled with heart, love, and compassion. Especially when it came to Collin. The author shows us that those with in the autism spectrum as just as special as everyone else. Hunter is wonderful with Collin and “gets” him. Definitely a book worth your time. This reader is looking forward to Silver and Iron getting their stories. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This is a quick read with a lot of heart. Hunter is badly injured on a mission and decides it’s time to finally do something about his feelings for Hannah. He has been enamored with her since they met and they became friends after she saw how much he cared for her son. While he’s trying to show Hannah how he feels, she is summoned home for her little sister’s wedding. She loves her little sister, but everyone else in the family is terrible.
Not only does this wedding give Hunter time to cement a romantic relationship with Hannah, there also seems to be some possible danger. Good thing he and his friends know how to handle danger. The mystery of what is going on with Hannah’s family and whether or not they are as evil as it seems doesn’t take over the story, but it does wrap up a bit quickly at the end. It’s almost confusing as to how things played out.
The relationship between Hannah and Hunter is wonderful, as is the connection between Hunter and her son. He’s just an all-around great guy. Hannah is a strong and independent woman and does not trust easily, but Hunter is easy to trust and fall in love with.
**I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely**
Fans of Susan Stoker will like this story as I found the flavor of story telling very similar. Burly, handsome, special ops soldier quickly falls in love with a capable, independent but homely wallflower. This wallflower also has a son with autism. No surprise that the soldier, Hunter, can connect to, and even loves, autistic son, Collin, because Hunter also has a sister with a disability. While they are mentioned, Hunter’s family never appear in this story. Not even when he was in hospital after being injured.
The romantic relationship between Hannah and Hunter, while steamy, didn’t really grab me. There was no angst from the development of the relationship since they since both knew their feelings early on. I really liked the dynamics between Hunter’s SEAL buddies. There was some dramatic drama that caused the endangerment of Hannah’s life and a rather brief summary as to motive for the drama but nothing meaty to get my teeth into.
A rather quick and casual read.
I received a free copy from Booksprout. This is my unbiased review.
Intriguing, thrilling, steamy military romance I love reading a book that starts off strong and never lets up. This book opens with Navy SEAL Hunter “Branch” Green on a mission, being shot from the rope dangling from his helicopter. His last thought being his regret not telling Hannah how he feels. Miraculously he survives. After weeks of recuperating overseas, Hunter is brought home to the States. Hannah is a flight medic and feels something special for Hunter too but has been on her own with Collin her 13yo autistic son from his conception to now. She is too afraid to let anyone in their bubble of safety. But Hunter will not have regrets again. He forces her hand. This is a fast-paced intriguing story, especially when we find out about Hannah’s unscrupulous family and their plans for Vivienne, Hannah’s baby sister. If you like intrigue, thrills-a-minute, steam and great characters, trust me, you will want to read this book! I love all the SEAL family. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens.
Third in the Sworn Navy SEALs series but can be read as a standalone. Hunter has had a thing for Hannah for a while, but until he was wounded on a mission, he was going to take it slow. Now he knows that it's time to make her his before it's too late. When Hannah receives an SOS from her sister, who is about to be married, Hunter realizes that he can be there for Hannah as she goes back to her parents' home. A home that was not happy because she did not conform to what they thought a Day daughter should be like. When there are threats made against Hannah and her son, Hunter steps in as a protector, winning Hannah's heart and love. The tender care that Hunter took of Collin and Hannah was wonderful. I was holding my breath during the chapters when Hannah was back home at her parents, wondering what was going to happen next and how she was going to help her sister. There was shocking twists and betrayals that were a surprise.

I enjoyed Hunter and Hannah’s story. Navy SEAL Hunter “Branch” Green has one goal when he leaves the military hospital—finally tell the pretty flight medic how he feels about her and her autistic teenage son. He’s played it safe for too long, but the mission to win her trust and her heart might be his most challenging yet. After a lifetime of being criticized and disappointed by her family who should have loved her, single mom Hannah Day is fiercely independent. Her walls have walls, and if her son needs anything or something needs doing, she relies only on herself. Hannah wants to stay strong, but when she’s summoned home to Texas for her youngest sister’s speedy, high society wedding, something feels off, even dangerous. Can she rely on Hunter’s help or will this be one more disappointment for Hannah and her son? It was a suspenseful and intriguing read. And voluntarily leaving this review.
Hannah Day, fiercely independent single mom to teenager Collin, who is autistic, is a flight medic. Collin became friends with Navy Seal Hunter Green. Hannah has very little to do with her rich and political family, so when she gets summoned back to Texas for her sister’s big society wedding, she really does not want to go. When Hunter overhears the wedding planner treating Hannah horribly, he steps in and pretends to be her boyfriend. Of course, he’s already fallen for Hannah, but she is wary of relying on anyone other than herself. There is something dangerous going on within her family, and Hunter and his friends are determined to find out what.
I love the way Hunter took Hannah, and especially her son, under his wing. While this is the third book in a series, it can be read as a stand-alone, though I do intend to go back and read the first two books.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Fast paced, tightly woven plot and wonderful characters (main and secondary). The author's depiction of Collin was amazing and it's true that just like each neurotypical person is unique, similarly each neurodivergent person is unique and beautiful in their own abilities. The love and strength that Hannah showed towards Collin and the love and protectiveness that was Hunter made me emotional and had me smiling tearfully. Hunter's team and their significant others were a wonderful found family and I'm intrigued to read each of their stories. There was just the right touch of suspense that had me turning the pages wanting to know what happens next and I was sad I finished the book so quickly but the ending was just heartwarming and perfect, celebrating love and new begginings surrounded by the people you love who are in 'your blue circle'.
Overall this was a great read. I went in not having read any of the other books in the series to give a view from the standalone POV. I didn't feel like I was missing anything but you could tell there were backtracking moments into the past books and so I feel reading as a series is not a must but would be better.
The chapters are duel POV swapped, with one or 2 (marked) mid-chapter swaps. Though there were lots of people and things to follow within the story. I kept up and couldn't put it down even with my added AuDHD. The spice level is maybe 1.5-2 and the thriller portion boosted up the 'protector' label within the story.
There is mention of Autism within the story (say 1/3 of the general) but it was well written and I can say from experience that is is written from real life and not guessed from research.

This was such a brilliant book. Deception, Betrayal, danger and drama with a great romantic suspense. So good!
This was about Hannah, a flight medic who is ordered to go to her younger sister's wedding, and Hunter an ex seal who loves her and her autistic son Collin.
This plot was exceptional. I loved Hunter and Hannah and especially how they both are with each other and Collin. Their chemistry together was special and strong. Ialso enjoyed the insight to life with an autistic child and how acceptance for who he is and how great he is in the family. Also about a made family when a blood family is so much less than.
So well written. This author made something special and being the first of her books I've read I'll be getting the others now for sure. Her writing style is very easy read and her characters simple but oozing the emotional aspects needed to build the relationships.
Navy SEAL Hunter “Branch” Green and Flight Medic Hannah Day are our hero and heroine in the powerful and poignant Sworn Navy SEALs series. Hunter loves Hannah’s son and his feelings for strong, independent Hannah are growing stronger the more time he spends with her. Hannah has learnt to trust and rely on herself after her high society family rejected her years ago. Summoned to Texas for her younger sister’s wedding, Hannah becomes embroiled in a dangerous fight with her family and Branch steps up to defend her and show Hannah his unconditional love for her and support. I loved this story and the beautiful themes of love and family, showing compassion and fighting for a family of people who love you, not necessarily the one you were born into. I love the tension between Hannah and her family and the way Branch and his band of brothers pull together to rescue their own. I cannot wait to read more of this beloved series.
Sworn to Defend (Sworn Navy SEALs Book 3) Charlee James has a team of men who are protectors at their hearts. In each story there is one woman that each SEAL becomes attached too and decides to protect no matter the cost or what they must do. In this story, Navy SEAL Hunter “Branch” Green has been wounded but is recovering. His interest is single mom Hannah Day ahd her sone Collin.
From a wealthy family that she is not close too because of their critical views of her life Hannah seems in control and protection would not be needed. However, even weddings, Hannah’s youngest sister’s, can be dangerous. I like how the series has included a special needs child/teenager, showing their potential to enhance other’s lives. I especially like how the Navy SEALS considered to be the best of the best open their arms and hearts to these kids. Perhaps that is partly why they are the best of the best.
Another brilliant story in the Sworn Navy SEALS series. I recommend reading n order as they are interconnected wonderfully. A mission accident clarifies Hunter’s new mission in life-making Hannah and Collin his. Hannah, raising her autistic son on her own while working a high pressure job as a flight medic has had few people she can trust in her life. Can she trust the big SEAL inserting himself into her life? I loved their chemistry, Hunter’s steadfastness, the found family and their bravery in each other. "We're a team." He smoothed his palm over her cheek. "Bravest together. We're going to have times when we're not at our best. When we need to borrow each other's strength. Times the other will need to fill the gaps one of us can't. That's healthy and good."
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is an extremely emotional book! I can't believe how strong Hannah's inner-strength is yet she seems so fragile at times. To have the family she has, which is a family you will love to hate, yet have so much love and fierce protection for her son Collin, is amazing. Hunter has a relationship separate from Hannah with her son Collin and you can tell that Collin loves Hunter also. After being injured and recuperating, Hunter sets out to win Hannah's love also, while protecting her from the very people who should love and accept her no matter what… her family. This book took me thru so many emotions, happy, laugh out loud funny, sad, extremely angry. This is an excellent read! Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Sworn to Defend ~ Sworn Navy SEALs #3 by Charlee James
I have been reading this, series from the start, and I can honestly say this has topped the other two. Sworn to Defend has been written brilliantly with wonderful characters that feel real and true. Here we have Navy SEAL Hunter “Branch” Green and Hannah Day, a flight medic and her autistic teenage son Collin. The chemistry between the two is off the rocks. The storyline feels true to life and I was engaged from the start and did not want it to end, it's that good. It has romance, a high society wedding, secrets, and danger. I highly recommend this book to all.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read, Happily Ever After, Informative, Original, Page-turner, Romantic, Realistic, and Wonderful characters
This is Seal Hunter “Branch” Green’s story. While recovery from being shot, Hunter finally realizes how he truly feels about Hannah .
Hanna Day is a medic and mother of Colin who is autistic. Hannah has had a rough life, but it’s definitely made her stronger and determined. Colin is so lovable and he loves Branch.
Branch will do about anything for Hanna and Collin. Even attend Hannah sister‘s wedding, where his team helps the bride escape.
Charlee has done it again! A wonderful story of family, drama, and powerful friendship.
I truly recommend this book and the entire series. Can’t wait for book number four.
Thank you Tule publishing for allowing me to read this ARC in return for my honest review.
Well written, quick read protector romance. This is the third installment of this series, but the first that I have read. It can be read as a standalone. Hunter/Branch is a Navy SEAL who has quickly fallen in love with Hannah and her autistic son Collin. After being injured while on a mission, Hunter is required to take time off. He uses this time to further explore his relationship with Hannah. She has a family wedding to attend and has a very complicated relationship with her family. He uses this event not only to protect Hannah, but to solidify his relationship with her and her son. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a fast-paced book that I just wanted to read it in one sitting. Hunter is a Navy SEAL, who is on medical leave, and Hannah is an independent, single mom, raising her autistic son on her own, while working a high pressure job as a flight medic. The chemistry between Hannah and Hunter was amazing. I really liked how Hunter was a father figure to Hannah’s son, Collin, even prior to them dating. There is also a bit of suspense in the story, and through it all, Hunter proves his love for Hannah by being by her side the entire time. It’s an all-around great book.
I’ve been enjoying the Sworn Navy Seals books and Sworn To Defend is a nice addition to the set. If you haven’t read the others, don’t worry as this book stands alone well, though you get a far more complete picture if you read the series in order. I confess to not being thrilled with the cover of this book, and that put me off a bit, but inside, it is a completely different story. Here we have two people who have lived and worked with family members who have mental illness and know that despite society’s labels, those family members each have their own contribution to make. I admired Hunter for his selflessness nd his high regard for his parents, who worked hard to give his bi-polar sister the best possible start in life. His protective nature carries on into his relationship with Hannah and her autistic son Colin. Colin is a fantastic character with his larger than life personality and his sense of fun and joy in life’s small pleasures. It was fabulous watching Hunter and Colin working side by side in the kitchen. Hannah is another wonderful character. Having raised Colin by herself while learning to be a flight medic, she’s shown plety of spine in dealing with her utterly awful family. I loved watching the way Hunter broke down her barriers and built a trusting nd caring relationship with her. While there are times when this story pushes the bounds of believability, it is still sweet and emotionally engaging.
Hannah is a flight medic, but more importantly she is a fierce mother to an autistic teenage son. She will stop at nothing to protect her son. When Hunter (Branch) treats her son witch such kindness, understanding and love, it slowly breaks down her walls of protection. Now that Branch is healed and out of the hospital he needs to find Hannah. He needs to tell her how he feels and find a way to keep her in his life. He feels very protective of her son. He can picture a future with both of them. Can he convince Hannah to take a chance of him and that he won't break her heart? I have really enjoyed this series. Good read.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader’s copy of this book for a honest opinion.
Another great story in the Sworn Navy SEALS series. Sworn to Defend by Charles James. The author knows how to give you enjoyable storylines that always pulls me in. I've enjoyed the character connections between the characters, the development of the storyline and everything in the stories. I loved reading more about Branch and Hannah and their journey to possible romance. Also her son Collin adds so much in the story. I can't wait to read more books about these characters.
Hunter meets Hannah, and her son, Collin, at a wedding, then he's on a mission and is injured, he promises himself that he'll tell her how he feels when he gets home. Hannah's parents are awful, she only sees them once a year, on a duty visit. Now her sister is getting married and she's going again. Hunter and his team do some investigation and he helps her to stand up for herself.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
This is a this first I've read of the series and found it's not necessary to read from the beginning. But I will definitely do so as Sworn to Defend was fantastic. I loved how there wasn't any manufactured drama between Hunter and Hannah. He knew what he wanted and went for it without hesitation. With all the adversity in her life, Hannah needed someone to stand beside her that she could depend on and be her rock. The story was definitely a case of family is who you choose to have in your life, not necessarily blood related.
This SEAL series by Ms. James is amazing. I loved this story – the romance and the intrigue. Reading about Branch and Hannah, their lives, their family and family by choice, and their journey to love kept me enthralled. I read the book instead of working overtime because I needed to see what happened. Hannah’s son, Collin, is autistic and engenders depths of love and care in most everyone he meets. Reading about the relationships and interactions of the characters just leaves me with such a warm feeling. I voluntarily read an advance copy from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
