Carolyn | 1629 comments This was a fun cosy mystery, set in post war Paris. A young American woman in Paris befriends Julia Childs and becomes involved in investigating a murder outside Julia's apartment. Julia is currently learning how to cook at Le Cordon Bleu, so of course there is mention of some classic French recipes along the way.

PamG (lynguy1) | 2533 comments Here is my 3.49 rounded to 3 stars review of The Ferryman The Ferryman by Justin Cronin by Justin Cronin:

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This post-apocalyptic science fiction novel is emotionally-charged, unique, intense, challenging, and thought-provoking, with fantastic world-building and great characterization. It’s creative and is captivating with its unpredictable plot. This was very close to a 4 star rating for me. The pacing in the first half of the novel is what lowered it to 3 stars for me.

This is the first book in the Run with the Wolf paranormal romantic suspense series. However, it is set in the same town in Colorado as some of the author's other series. Overall, the novel was intriguing, intense, and contemporary. It was well crafted, paced well, and entertaining; with the suspense that I enjoy in this genre.
