Crime Thriller / Police Procedural
The book has an intensity that hooked me with a good plot and strong characters. The author also does a great job of incorporating real-world issues into the story that add depth. The author did a great job of building suspense throughout the story, providing action, and giving readers a lot to contemplate as they try to solve the crimes.
I wasn’t much of a fan of The Late Mrs. Willoughby

I listened to Drowning by T.J. Newman and was held captive from beginning to end! This book is on my short list of 2023 Favorites! 5 Stars My ReviewNewman has redefined the term “intense”, elevating it to a higher level by holding the pedal on the floorboard through an array of heart racing twists and turns from beginning to end.
It's a wild ride on the coattails of ghosts and ghouls, swept along by Sri Lankan winds, in The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida, by 2022 Booker Prize winner Shehan Karunatilaka. More than half of my review is quotes, so there's more of his writing than mine. 😊

i read The Silver Swan by Benjamin Black Black is a pen name for John Banville, a Man Booker prize winner. I have previously read book 1 in the Quirke series, Christine Falls, and enjoyed it. Crime Thriller/Police Procedural
The author is a great storyteller with gripping scenes and a disturbing story that depicts the devastating risks to runaways and the effects of human trafficking on them. The plot moves at a fast pace with some twists and turns. However, the antagonist was a little too predictable.
