https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

John Sanford brings investigation, suspense, and plenty of action to the second book in the Letty Davenport series. The story is part undercover investigation and part action thriller. Sandford’s a superb storyteller who kept me on the edge of my seat as the undercover operation and action unfolded. The final action scenes are riveting and hauntingly memorable.

Woman Reading (is away exploring) | 577 comments If you're a fan of Leigh Bardugo, then go ahead and pick up Hell Bent (Alex Stern, #2) by Leigh Bardugo Hell Bent #2 in the Alex Stern eventually-to-be trilogy.

It's been a while since I had read a novel that completely gripped me from the beginning. It only took 7 pages for Hell Bent to sink its claws into me.

I've got to look into the Grishaverse now.

PamG (lynguy1) | 2533 comments Here's my 4.05 rounded to 4 stars review of Lone Women Lone Women by Victor LaValle by Victor LaValle:

The author has managed to combine horror, mystery, suspense, historical fiction, and the supernatural in a western set in 1914-1915. Overall, this was a compelling, shocking, unique, and dark story that also had some uplifting moments. I always expect to learn something new from a historical fiction novel, and this one delivered. The writing is vivid and atmospheric.
