Your next stay-up-all-night thriller, about identical triplets who have a nasty habit of killing their boyfriends, and what happens when the youngest commits their worst crime yet: falling in love with her mark.
Make him want you. Make him love you. Make him dead.
Sissy has an...interesting family. Always the careful one, always the cautious one, she has handled the cleanup while her serial killer sisters have carved a path of carnage across the U.S. Now, as they arrive in the Arizona heat, Sissy must step up and embrace the family pastime of making a man fall in love and then murdering him. Her first target? A young widower named Edison--and their mutual attraction is instant. While their relationship progresses, and most couples would be thinking about picking out china patterns and moving in together, Sissy's family is reminding her to think about picking out burial sites and moving on.
But then something happens that Sissy never anticipated: She begins to feel protective of Edison, and then, before she can help it, she's fallen in love. But the clock is ticking, and her sisters are growing restless. It becomes clear that the gravesite she chooses will hide a body no matter what happens; but if she betrays her family, will it be hers?
Ren DeStefano lives in Connecticut, where she was born and raised. When she’s not writing thrillers, she’s listening to true crime podcasts and crocheting way too many blankets.
This is soooo wildddd! This is crazy! This is best kind of WTH I just read book blowing your mind, taking your breath away, scaring the living daylights out of you!
This is the unconventional, creepy, emotional story of Identical triplets: Iris: menacing one, Moody: unpredictable loose cannon and Sissy ( that’s not her real name): negotiator, fixer and cleaner one!
Two sister( elder by minutes) are serial lover killer and Sissy is about to join their coven by choosing her own prey and killing him like her sister told her to do! But she never hurt anyone before! When we read her POV and spend more time on her mind, we realize she’s kind of Joe Goldberg who fantasizes a good love story and a perfect murder at the same time!
The sisters have a heart wrenching story: Those three women are only 25 years old, getting through rough patches since they have been abandoned inside a single stroller at the rest stop, wrapped in clean towels and with umbilical cords tied off with plain white shoelaces.
They never knew their real parents. They’ve been transferred to different houses, getting abused by people, experiencing the dark side of foster care system. Only thing they want to be together and protect each other! That’s why the murders started! When Iris gets emotionally abused by her elder and married lover she takes the matters her own hands and unfortunately Sissy is the one who cleans her sister’s mess just like she did for Moody!
Now she is dealing with the biggest dilemma : she has to choose between the man she falls for and sisters!
Edison is the man she planned to kill. The same man dealing with his wife’s sudden death, trying to stay sober. He has broken hearted, good guy who slowly heals with the help of Sissy. Her sisters put more pressure on her shoulder to kill her lover as her neighbor and new friend Dara shares big secrets with her about her dysfunctional marriage and prying about what’s going on at her house!
What will Sissy do? Will she kill the first and probably her last love or will she defy against sisters? But rejecting her sister could put her own life in danger! What is their secrets come out and the victims they buried don’t stay buried anymore!
This book was so tense and fast pacing. I had doubts it could have a good ending but the author is brilliant. She wrapped up the storylines perfectly! The revelations and conclusions are logical, smart and fair. I loved it!
I cannot give less than five stars to this smart, intense, unique plot! The three sisters may look identical but their characters couldn’t be so different! Interestingly you learn to empathize with each of them even though they are one of the most disturbing human beings. ( especially Moody and Iris are) You understand their reasonings, pains and problems to live a normal and happy life!
Overall: I liked it! I advise you to read it!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.

Can murder REALLY run in the family?
Sissy is about to discover whether or not she has what it takes to TRULY run with her sisters. As the third in command (so to speak), up until now her role in the trio has been clean-up artist after her murderous sisters Moody and Iris take out their lovers, moving from town to town and leaving no evidence behind. The group arrives in Arizona, and now it's finally Sissy's turn to step up to the plate and claim her first kill. She finds her mark in Edison, a handsome church goer who is still grieving the loss of his wife...but has an opening in his heart perfect for Sissy...or as he knows her, Jade.
As her perfectly curated romance blossoms, Sissy is surprised when images of exactly HOW she'll murder Edison, and WHERE she'll bury his body are replaced with dreamy romantic fantasies about running away together and leaving her sisters to their own deadly devices. But with this 'blood debt' owed and so many secrets between the three of them, can Sissy abandon 'Jade' AND the sisters who have always had her back to show Edison her TRUE self? Or will the mere threat of betrayal cause Sissy's sisters to take 'Jade' out...for good?
This book has been marketed as an 'up all night thriller', so I'd put it aside hoping for the sort of deliciously devilish narrator found in some of my favorite serial killer thrillers (You, My Lovely Wife) and a page-a-minute read that would hook me from the beginning and leave me exhilarated.
Well...this book is simply not that.
In fact, it's a classic case of an instance where the author tried to write three different books and cram them into one. This is part suspense (I wouldn't call it a thriller), part family drama, with a HEAVY dose of romance...so much so that at times I felt like I was entirely reading a romance novel. A little bizarre for a book that is supposedly a serial killer story.
The other half of this problem is that I had such a hard time buying the characters' motivations, especially Sissy herself. I couldn't understand WHY she wouldn't have just abandoned ship after falling for Edison. Being a witness to ALL of her sisters' murders, but not having taken part in them (and based on details in the book, it would be iffy to even consider her an accessory after the thorough cleanups involved) would have given her more than enough leverage to leave that life behind and put them in jail, if she really felt like it. And yet she feels she owes them somehow...?
The "backstory" provided was muddled at best, and I had a hard time buying the characters based on the little bit of description they received. This is an instance where having multiple narrators COULD have significantly bettered the narrative, but we are stuck with Sissy's perspective from page one till the bitter (and I MEAN bitter) end.
DeStefano also had the option to go down the humorous route and I was at least hoping if this book wouldn't be thrilling, that there would be traces of this in the overall tone, but no such luck. This book is not dark enough to be scary, and not light enough to be satirical, and I feel this is where it suffered the most. There is also just enough overly scientific description of just how you hack up a body and clean up the parts, etc. etc. to demonstrate that DeStefano did her research, but instead of this detail feeling eerie, I felt like I was reading a dry and dusty forensic pathology textbook.
In every tug of war, there is push and pull until one side wins. And in this book, rather than romance or suspense "winning" the day...I think the rope just snapped.
Ren DeStefano has crafted a disquieting psychological thriller featuring identical triplets Sissy, Moody, and Iris. In this story, Sissy also uses the fake name of Jade. Moody and Iris have the habit of killing their boyfriends and Sissy handles the clean-up to ensure they don’t get caught. However, now it’s Sissy’s turn. She needs to make him want her and then fall in love with her. After that, she needs to kill him.
Arriving in Rainwood, Arizona, the sisters rent an apartment, but only one of them can be seen at a time. Since they’re identical, either Moody or Iris be a visible alibi (pretending to be Sissy) when the end comes. Sissy goes to a local diner to find her mark. He’s Edison, a widower living alone. They are attracted to each other quickly, but take things somewhat slowly. However, her sisters are getting impatient. Can Sissy make him fall in love with her? Can she kill him? If not, how can she protect him? Can the triplets move on to their next victim without getting caught?
The characterization in this novel is fantastic. Moody is confident, seemingly sweet, sharp, and deadly. Iris is confident, regal, and can transform into anything that attracts her victims. Sissy is the voice of reason that understands how to clean up crime scenes. Edison is gentle and trying to stay sober while harboring a deep anger at the person who killed his wife. Told from Sissy’s point of view, readers get insights into her thoughts and feelings about her sisters and about Edison as well as the conflicts she experiences.
The author is a superb storyteller who kept me on the edge of my seat as I wondered what would happen next. There are some unexpected twists as this dark story unfolds. Along the way, readers get more information on the lives of the triplets leading up to this story without it being an information dump. The final action scenes are riveting and hauntingly memorable. However, there were times when the pacing felt uneven and the ending was somewhat predictable. Themes include violence, murder, anger, friendship, love, sisterhood, and much more. The novel also highlights the complexity of foster care and the impact of separation on siblings.
Overall, this was suspenseful and disconcerting for me with memorable characters that kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. The unique premise for this book is disturbing and readers who enjoy romance with their dark psychological thrillers will likely enjoy this novel.
Berkley Publishing Group and Ren DeStefano provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. Featuring ~ 1st person POV, present tense, triplets, foster care, serial killers, dark, debut
Sissy, Moody & Iris ~ the serial killer triplets. Moody and Iris each have killed 3 unsuspecting chaps and Sissy, the one who usually cleans up the messes, is ready for her turn. I like that she just handles the clean up like it's any other day with great precision. Did the victims deserve what was coming to them or are they just women scorned that are psychopaths?
Perfectly titled because we're told in depth detail how Sissy plans out her first kill. The extra details did make it seem a little longer than necessary. Sweet, broken, church going, Edison is the target, but can she go through with it when she really gets to know him?
Overall, it's quite impressive as a debut. The plot was cleverly planned out. The sisters were well and uniquely developed and each bring their own skill set to the table. I liked how the ending played out.
*Thanks to the author, Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review*
It took me until the very end to come to a conclusion about how I felt about this book. There are good parts to the story and some not-so-good parts.
How I'll Kill You is the tale of identical triplet sisters who were abandoned as babies and grew up in foster care, sometimes separated and sometimes two of them together. Sissy, Iris, and Moody had difficult lives and had to become scrappy and wise to get by. At some point, this took a turn towards murder. Thus far, Iris and Moody have been the ones to commit the murders and Sissy is the clean-up person. Now, it's Sissy's turn for her first kill, and the rule is that they can only kill their boyfriends/lovers. She takes on the identity of Jade, and she meets Edison. But she never anticipated that she would have real feelings for him. Can she go through with it or will she go along with her sisters, the only stable relationships she has ever had?
This is certainly a unique storyline, and I honestly didn't have buy in about it until the end. I was really puzzled about the motivation throughout, although that becomes a bit clearer as the story progresses. Some of the characters are well developed and intriguing, I was rooting for Sissy/Jade and only wanted things to work out well for her. Yet I never really got a good feel for her sisters, who just popped in and out at will and seemed more like caricatures than real people.
This book has a very melancholy feel, and I couldn't quite put my finger on the genre, which weakened the story for me. There's definitely the murder/killing aspect, but there's also some pretty steamy romance, as well as a lot of family drama. It's quite darker than I was initially expecting based on the description and the cover.
Overall, this is an intriguing debut, fairly fast-paced, but despite its outlandish premise, I'm not sure I'll remember much of it for long.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, all opinions are my own.
4 solid stars for this very different debut. A hard to classify read - it’s a thriller, a romance, family drama & more. I did get pretty invested in this tale of three killer triplets & the MC Sissy, who breaks all her own & sister’s rules with her first “mark”. Started a bit slow but the final third flew by & I couldn’t put it down. Be up to reading this author again.
I don't exactly know what I was expecting, but I had a pretty good time. This book was very different in so many ways and I think that's why I enjoyed it so much.
As soon as this book started, we were thrown right into the deep end. Identical triplets who are serial killers right from the jump. This was so action packed and that's one thing that I really enjoyed about this. It was thrilling and every chapter was a new twist put into the story. The plot actually had me hooked from the jump. I thought the story was going one way and then NOPE I was wrong.
I thought that the characters were pretty good too! They were unique and had their own quirks. I will say tho....these characters threw me for a loop most of the time. Sissy's thought process and how she became so obsessed over Edison so fast? I didn't like it. It felt SO damn insta-lovey. We're talking like this girl fell in love with him before she even laid eyes on him. All she had was a name. She was obsessive in a way that even as a dark romance lover, was too much.
Overall, I did have a good time reading this book. It was fun, mysterious, and thrilling to my core. I would recommend this if you're looking for a book that is super quick with a thrilling plot that pulls you in and keeps you invested, this might be for you!! However, the insta-love and the weird obsession the FMC had with the MC was a bit...off-putting.

One of my favorite employees as Barnes recommended this to me, and I think it's the perfect time to pick it up with fall coming around 🩷
In addition to my house cover addiction, I have to confess that if you put “kill” in the title, there’s about a 112% chance Imma want to read it. If for no other reason than to carry it around the office so others can see it while waiting for their turn at the coffee bar or the copy machine . . . .
Last week I read How to Kill Men and Get Away With It, then I read this, and coming soon it’s Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone. Ahhhhhhh, it’s like hanging out with my besties.
This selection was absolutely a had me at hello with the premise of triplets who spend their free time murdering their boyfriends. And having it not be all about the gore or twists and turns was once again super satisfying to my hate-everything lately self.
Sissy has always had the role of the “cleaner” when it comes to her sisters’ shenanigans, but now it’s her turn. She’s identified her mark and now has a maximum of six months to make him fall in love with her before offing him, disposing of his body and moving on to the next. It’s her time and she’s ready . . . until she starts catching some feels.
This slow roller didn’t include a lot of shock and awe, but it kept me engaged right from the jump and I read it in a day. There was a bit of jumping of the shark with the added neighbor narrative muddying up the waters, but for the most part I really enjoyed this one. 3.5 Stars and rounding up because I’m full of the holiday spirit.
ARC provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Summary: This is a book that’s best when you go in blind. I’ll leave it at this - read it asap.
Thoughts: This is such a fun and binge worthy book! I love a bad guy/gal you can root for, and the author definitely gives that to us here. Although there are some similarities to The Kind Worth Killing (if you enjoyed that one you’ll also enjoy HIKY), I feel like the lines are a bit blurrier and emotions more nuanced in this one. I was often torn between rooting for these characters and hoping they were caught.
I also think this book offers a lot of depth and detail on the sisters’ backstory and how they came to do what they do. While I might have liked a bit more on certain aspects of their past, I can definitely see the motivations behind their original pact. The character development overall was strong and the pacing (one of the most important aspects of a thriller) was perfect.
With all the adulation on the cover I was strapped in for a wild ride. The wild thing is I was even able to make it to the finish line.
It takes nearly 200 pages for any change of action to occur. For the first section we are prisoners to Sissy/Jade’s incessant introspection. ‘Oh, Edison. I think you are perfect. I will miss you. I will love to see your face one last time’.
It’s overbearing. And speaking of said monologue, the diction is terrible. It’s as if DeStefano listened to a litany of Janet Yellen speeches and thought: this short and choppy cadence is perfect for a protagonist.
There are so many unrealistic aspects. We keep reading about how the town is so small and everybody knows everyone. And yet: no one seems to ask about Jade’s aunt? No one inquires about her passing and Jade suddenly showing up to “settle the estate”. Then we have Dara who freely accepts Jade’s skill and lack of disgust as a result of watching lots of true-crime? Seriously?! Who knew Keith Morrison was such a great teacher.
There are also continuity problems. The way evidence is managed early in the narrative is not the same as described later in the story. I hate sloppy writing and continuity almost as much as Sissy/Jade hates a sloppy crime scene. Unfortunately, the novel’s bungling is never cleaned up.
And let’s talk about our love interest. For being named Edison, he sure isn’t too bright. A stranger shows up in town and befriends him almost instantly. Celebrating the nearly one year anniversary of his wife’s death, he isn’t suspicious, guarded, or cautious. Instead, he is reckless, trusting, and uninhibited with her. He also fails to question her alibi of being in town to settle her aunt’s estate (the aunt apparently no one is concerned they have not heard of or know of her passing). And he doesn’t question why it’s taking multiple months to sort this out. Even when a hiker goes missing and Edison becomes more concerned with his step-daughter’s safety he never considers Jade’s presence or the random appearances of her sister, Lisa.
Plus, at the end, he fully forgives her and is willing to move forward, Edison and Emily. How dumb are these Arizonans? Is the heat of the southwest frying their common sense? They are not going to question this woman whose sisters have been convicted of crimes and who they knew as Jade until she suddenly went MIA but now is back as Emily?
You are promised the book is tension filled and twisty. Wrong. It is filled with bumbling prose and shallow characters.
And the only mystery here is why this is labeled a thriller - it is clearly a love story. One you will hate.
How I’ll Kill You by Ren DeStefano is one of those books that’s tougher to label, we have a serial killer thriller mixed with some family drama and then a contemporary romance to set up the next kill. Just my cup of tea really! The story is told from the main character’s prospective in the present timeline with a bit of flashes back to their past.
Sissy is the youngest of triplet girls with her sisters, Iris and Moody, beating her out by minutes at birth. The three sister have only had each other their entire lives with not the greatest upbringings being abandones early on in life. This has brought the girls extremely close together, close enough to kill for one another.
Iris and Moody have already had their turns taking someone’s life and now they expect it’s Sissy’s turn. Sissy has always been the more level headed and the clean up member of their crew and isn’t totally sure she’s ready to kill but Iris and Moody are pushing her hard after arriving in Arizona. Sissy does meet a young man named Edison who would be her perfect victim if only she weren’t falling in love with him.
How I’ll Kill You by Ren DeStefano is a debut novel so I had no idea what to expect from this author but what I found was a creative and intriguing read. This one may not be for everyone with the romance side to a thriller story but I love crossing genres so it didn’t bother me as the relationship build between Sissy and her target. I also enjoyed getting to know all the triplets back stories and then the twisty thrill ride of an ending. Would definitely return to this author again if they continue writing.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
Mood confession: This is another NetGalley backlist that’s been lurking in the shadows of my shelf for… longer than I’d like to admit. Honestly, I’m not even sure what spell I was under when I first added it. The plot sounded intriguing enough, I guess.
What Lit My Mood
Killer identical triplet sisters? Yes, please. A sisterly bond that’s equal parts fascinating and disturbing. Love, loyalty, and manipulation all tangled together. Dark secrets and twisted family dynamics that should’ve had me clutching my kindle
Where My Mood Flickered It’s part suspense, part family drama, but the romance took over, smothering the tension I wanted to drive the story. The believability element? Vanished like smoke in the wind.
Witchy Mood Reader Rating: Foggy: The vibes were off. Hints of intrigue, but the magic was muddled or weak.
Verdict: Add it to your altar if you love a heavy romance woven through your thrillers, but if you’re chasing edge-of-your-seat suspense, this one may leave your cauldron lukewarm.
I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley
I absolutely loved this premise, triplet female serial killers?! AMAZING. Say no more, I’m all in. I was instantly pulled into this one and I know a huge part of the reason why I was so invested so quickly is because of how original the setup was. Of course none of this is plausible but who cares when you’re on such a wild ride? The book being set in Arizona was such a treat for me, I’ve only read a handful of books set in my home state so that was really fun. I love reading about unhinged characters and the fact that all three sisters are the very definition of unhinged was so fun. Sissy narrates the entire story and her voice was just so strong and well developed. Speaking of narration I listened to part of this one audio and Karissa Vacker is queen. Grab this is you want a fast paced thriller that is wholly unique and wildly entertaining.
OMG I absolutely adore this book!!! It is exactly what would have happened if Nora Ephron wrote the script for Dexter. Its deliciously dark and sumptuously steamy and I could not stop the pages from turning just to see how it would all end. Sissy and her sisters Moody and Iris are triplets that were found abandoned in their strollers as babies. All of their lives all they have had is each other (and a very dark secret). None of their boyfriends live to tell the tale of ever knowing them and they are gone before things can catch up to them. When the sisters arrive in Arizona its time for sissy to choose her first but the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray. This is a Steller debut novel that defies genres and expectations. If you have ever found yourself looking for a dark/romance/mystery/ thriller than look no further than How I'll Kill you. I look forward to see what Ren will come up with next because this one blew me away.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for an ARC of this book. It is due to be released March 21, 2023 and I am putting in a pre-order at my local independent bookstore so that I can have a physical copy ASAP.
Ren DeStefano's debut novel, HOW I'LL KILL YOU has a very interesting premise, three identical sisters who are serial killers preying on vulnerable men. For some reason, I immediately get vibes from the movie Devil's Rejects, but this book involves a lot more romance. Starting right off, we find out that the three sisters—Iris, Moody, and our main protagonist Sissy—raised in foster care and ready to seek out revenge—all have a gameplan in motion. Trick the man into falling for you and then killing him in cold blood when he's at his most vulnerable. Sissy is planning for her first kill, what could go wrong?
This book was fun, but suffers from the struggle of what genre are you playing towards. It's a mystery/thriller at its core, but the romance plays a very big secondary role. I figured out what was going to happen early on, but it doesn't mean that I didn't have fun. If you need a fun and fast popcorn thriller, this book will entertain you.
Fast-paced and voicey I thoroughly enjoyed this dark thriller about a set of triplet serial killers who go to a small town to find their next mark. I've never read anything quite like it!
Identical triplets that are serial killers? Yeah I was hooked from the start. The plot for this book was so unique and will have you saying WTF did I just read in the best and most jaw dropping way.
How I’ll Kill You centers around 3 identical triplet sisters, Iris, Moody, and Sissy who all are serial killers. The sisters travel all across the United States and prey on vulnerable men. Sissy is preparing for her first target, a young widower named Edison. But something happens that shocks them all, Sissy falls in love with Edison. Now Sissy must choose between her family and the man she loves.
How I’ll kill You is a genre-defying story that’s part thriller and part romance. The author did a great job creating the three sisters' characters and making their personalities unique. We learn the sisters' difficult history of growing up in foster care and suffering from abuse which explains why they are serial murderers. The story also does a quick delve into the lasting effects of childhood abandonment.
The only issue I had was the romance parts were a bit too slow and I found myself losing interest in the story. But the ending made up for those parts!
Overall, I found How I’ll Kill You to be a fast and entertaining read and I think a lot of readers will feel the same. How I’ll Kill You by Ren DeStefano will be available on March 21. Many thanks to Berkley Pub and Netgalley for the gifted copy!
Oh Ren DeStefano, what a unique premise you have with How I'll Kill You. This book caught my attention immediately because it's not too often you will come across triplets who are into killing. It reminded me a little bit of another book I read with twins, but for the most part, this was a very fresh thriller that I absolutely loved. The entire book is told through Sissy's (AKA Jade) viewpoint, and the audiobook was spectacular with Karissa Vacker at the helm. I feel like you 100% need to listen to the audio for this book and will fully stand behind my next statement: the story and characters will get to you SO much more by listening to Vacker narrate. I also happened to quite like Sissy, and she was a wealth of knowledge when it comes to cleaning up a crime scene.
I do think the story ended up getting a little bogged down with Sissy's inner monologue, and there is a lot of it that becomes quite repetitive after a while causing the book to become a little too slow toward the middle. For this reason, it was missing some of that pizzazz for me, but I loved the first half of the book along with the last 25% where things get especially crazy. How I'll Kill You also put tears in my eyes which I was absolutely NOT expecting, so well done DeStefano! I didn't know it at the time, but this author only slightly changed her name to write this thriller, and her other books are under her actual name Lauren DeStefano. She is no stranger to writing if you check that out, and I can't wait to see what she writes next using this pen name.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This was 100% a dark psychological thriller, it may even find a place into the dark romance genre. Either way you look at it, it was very different from anything I have read in the genera. Can you say nuts? Can you say psychotic? The three identical triplet sisters are so ready to be locked up and the key thrown away. The plot is intense to put it mildly. Three sisters that are serial killers. Sissy is the only sister that has yet to kill out if the three and she’s being pushed to make her first kill. Enter Edison. The minute Sissy spots Edison, she gets the feeling that he is the one. She stalks him and manages to catch his attention by singing at the church he attends. Their relationship progresses quickly from there. Sissy helps Edison when he breaks his sobriety; he’s an alcoholic who has been sober for years. What she didn't count on was falling in love. The triplets take all these murders...and there are LOTS...to a level that I don't think anyone that isn't behind prison walls could possibly relate to. Also, to really make this storyline work, most readers would need to have the victims be people that they didn't have any feelings for. The book is very graphic in its descriptions of how Sissy handles a cleanup job, so if you are the least bit squeamish, be prepared.
Totally unique & devious, Ren DeStefano’s How I’ll Kill You was one of the best books I’ve read as of late. I have been in need of a thriller to stand out from the others and this one truly did that. A story of identical triplets with an unconventional upbringing has them finding men, luring them in and killing them. I couldn’t turn the pages of this fast enough and I can’t wait to read more from DeStefano in the future!
Thank you to Berkley for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
This family is seriously whacked! WTH did I just read? If you love someone, really love someone, maybe you should kill them? If you want to read something truly different, this is it. Kept me glued to the pages and the audio (which is very well done), guessing.
this reminded me of why I am still, to this day, obsessed with lauren destefano's prose and female characters. love her YA, and loved this too with all its juicy turns and drama
Identical triplets raised in foster care grow up to be killers... targeting none other than their lovers. Will the trio survive when one sister falls for her mark?
This was such a great read! I listened to the audiobook, superbly narrated by one of my faves: @karissavacker . It's the ultimate fast-paced, unputdownable thriller, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I am usually pretty good at guessing where thrillers are going, but I had no idea with this one! If you haven't read this yet, you're missing out!
HOW I’ll KILL YOU has a unique premise and would be a nightmare for law enforcement everywhere, with identical triplet beautiful psychopathic serial killers.
They find their victims through love, since taking someone’s life that loves you is the ultimate test in forever passion. The two “older” sisters have 3 kills each under their belt and now it’s time for 25yo virgin Sissy, to join this demented game of love and death.
Sissy has cleaned up her sisters bloody messes each time, but now that she has found her mark and he has fallen in love with her…she finds herself wavering on if she could pull off the ultimate love test her sisters have mastered. Love isn’t so simple after all and things don’t always work out as planned.
Dark thriller and I loved the triplets. The ending wasn’t as surprising as I would have hoped but it was still overall a very fun read!
Thanks to @prhaudio for the gifted copy. Karissa Vacker does a phenomenal job playing the part of Sissy.
I'm shocked to report that I really liked this. I did not like the cover or the brief description that it was about identical triplet serial killers, but when it popped up as "available now" on Libby, I thought I'd give it a try.
I think this suffers a little bit from mismarketing because if you're looking for just a thriller, this may be a bit too romance heavy or family drama heavy. For me, this counterbalanced some of the silliness of the overall concept and deepened the plot. I actually really enjoyed both the story of the romance and the heartbreaking backstory of the sisters. The dynamic of the sisters was done really well.
This was just a fast-paced really good time. Like a lot of thrillers I say that about, I think this one will stay with me a lot longer due to the romance and sister drama. It was unique. This is a debut author, and I'd definitely be on board with picking up their next book.
I really wanted to like this one because it's such an intriguing idea: identical triplets who take turns murdering people and masquerading as each other.
However, somehow the short sentences and writing style just did not work for me. How in the world could a ridiculous rom com of a book bore me? The writing just isn't good. Feels like a first draft of a book you'd write in highschool and think was super good, but now it's just embarrassing.
If you want your murder with a side of romance and sister issues this miiight work for you. Just don't expect quality shit.
