My favorite reads of October;
I am continuing to love the Vorkosigan saga by Lois McMaster Bujold 4.5 - 5 stars

I haven't gotten very far into The Song of the Cell by Siddhartha Mukherjee, but I am loving it already.

I really liked the Nebula Vibrations, The Lost Stradivarius, The Daughter of Doctor Moreau, The Haunting of Hill House, and the Secret Life of Bats. 4 stars

I did not like the Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff, I probably will not read another one by him. 1 star

Good morning everyone, I hope you are well, and that you have had a good reading month.

We are fast approaching Halloween, and I have been thinking about all the book recommendations around it.

Do you read certain books in October either because of Halloween or just because it's a great autumnal month?

Do you have a favorite author and/or books that you like to read in October?

For me, I like to read more gothic/classic horror/mystery books rather than the modern horror. I am reading The Lost Stradivarius by John Meade Falkner, and I am really enjoying it.

I also try to read at least one story by Edgar Allan Poe or a Sherlock Holmes story.
