I'm trying to plat The Smile Alchemist, but it's one of those that looked like a pretty straightforward one, but the last trophy takes longer than the rest of the game combined. Thought it would only take a day or two but looking like 3 or 4 now, and not sure I can be arsed with the mindless grind

Im having a tough relationship with AC Odyssey.
When im playing i have a good time but it also triggers my ocd in a way that im starting to feel kinda sick cause i cant stop exploring the "?" points on the map and waste all the time in the world to avoid the main quest.
Im currently at level 23 and i get depressed when i look at regions with 45+ levels.
In the end i always finish my 2 hrs session not doing much and feeling mentally drained.
At least in Odyssey the ? are more interesting in Valhalla. I've binned Valhalla off a few times because I'm obsessive compulsive too, I can't seem to ignore the ? but the motivation to head to the next one gets less and less each time. Weirdly didn't happen in Origins and Odyssey though, by the end would have happily played longer

Yeah. It didnt happen in Origins for me too. Probably it was the setting.
But in Odyssey its starting to feel really pointless cause its prety much the same missions over and over.
Im not quitting cause i alreay invested 40hrs but im starting to lack the motivation to keep going mainly because the game feels like everything has to be a grind. Im pretty sure this is a direct consequence of the xp boost MT.
Ping! The Smile Alchemist...and I've a strong feeling of deja vu but think I'm going to regret going straight into the PS4 version

Started BLair Witch yesterday.
The game is very very spooky.
I wandered through the forest for 1h and literally nothing happened other then a very suspicious shrub that scared the hell out of me but still i was completely freaked out the whole time.
Very tense atmosphere for sure.
Lets see where it goes.
Something I never thought I'd see...I'm downloading all 3 PS+ offerings this month

Nothing too spectacular- Sackboy, Meet Your Maker and Tails of Iron. None of the I'd really want to pay for but wouldn't mind giving a go, which is pretty much ideal ps+ fodder
Gave Meet Your Maker a wee go and not sure I've got the patience for it at the minute. Not bad but having only 2 bullets and any damage killing you instantly...might give the building side of it a go before I decide whether to leave it for now
And Ping! The Smile Alchemist (PS4). Wouldn't have minded it too much, but the last trophy is a real enthusiasm drainer. Max out all adventurers - there's a limit to how much exp you can grind out, so by the time you are done, you are still well short of skill points. The easiest way to get these is a chore - if you collect over 999 of an item, they give you a stamp, 6 stamps give a random reward, one of these you can trade in for skill points. So hours of gathering, just to rely on luck. Think I might give Sackboy a go next, but have a feeling it'll not keep my attention
And I'm instantly put off Sackboy after seeing half the trophies are MP....I'll have a wee go at it, but it's pretty much off my to do list now
I had Weird West downloaded so I've been putting time into that. What a unique game. There are a lot of different systems to navigate so it takes a while to get comfortable playing. It's basically an isometric twin-stick shooter where you explore supernatural mysteries of the "weird west" through the intertwined stories of several different characters. I'm just a bit into the second character's story (a cursed pigman!). Hoping the quality holds up. It's been great so far.
Weird West is one I've looked at in sales a few times but haven't yet bitten.
Meet Your Maker - it's mostly a lot of fun. I say mostly because a few too many people have copied the same inescapable level design. As soon as you pick up the resources, they drop a tonne of suicide bombers in the area that you can't outrun, avoid or block. I'll have to have a better look at the upgrades but it seems to be guaranteed death every time. If everyone copies that design the game would become unplayable, which would be a pity as it's otherwise decent stuff.
Have to say I've had more fun in Meet Your Maker than I have had in any ps+ game in a long time. Also stumbled upon a wee roguelike that seems pretty decent. Can't say I'd heard of The Last Spell, but it's not bad. Pretty much zombie horde defence but turn based rpg
I'll be setting up my new office/man cave/music room this weekend and hopefully digging into Weird West further.
Playing the Resi 2 remake, playing as Claire first and have got to the bit where I know Mr X is about to spawn - and kinda don't want him to because I'm loving it and don't want it to be spoiled by being actively hunted! But then again, it doesn't ruin Alien Isolation so hopefully will be ok lol.
I doubt you'll beat the Glass record of hours spent in the saferoom ;)But seriously, compared to the alien in Isolation, Mr X is a big softie
Think I'm reaching the point of moving on from Meet Your Maker. Stuck a lot more hours into than expected and generally enjoyed it. Too many co-op trophies and a few others are too much of a grind to consider the platDon't know how much longer I'll last in The Last Spell either. I do like it, but it's a pretty tough wee game. Managed to make it to the 11th night in the second town a couple of times, but have ended up getting wiped out.
Then again, no idea what I'm in the mood for, so will likely end up continuing a mix of those 2

I'm definitely taking an elongated break from The Last Spell. Got to the 2nd boss, the town was on the brink of being destroyed, but the boss was too. So of course one misplaced aoe attack from me and boom goes the town. Hours of being careful, down the drain in an instant. Do like the game though

Polished off Claire A-run last night. Took me 8.5 hours when it usually takes most players between 4 or 5 hours (or less) lol. Mr X was no problem at all, tbh I hardly saw him, he only really showed up once or twice. Fantastic game no doubt, and know I still have Leon A&B and Claire B to play :)
For now have dived straight into Resi 3. It's surprising that the games were being developed at the same time because even though Resi 2 is very good looking, Resi 3 is STUNNING, and I can already tell it's more action-packed with exploding red barrels, loads of ammo (so far) and zombies everywhere. Also loving it so far, and am now glad that I never played Resi 2 nor 3 back on the ps1 so I'm not complaining about all the stuff they have changed/left out :)
Leon A-run on Resi 2 to follow once Resi 3 is polished off. Playing all these games on assissted difficulty to make them more fun :)
You've maybe put me in the mood to get stuck into Resi 4 properly.....

Yes, eventually as far as i remember him saying. Apparently he was the first to discover that even tyrants can die of old age though ;)

Funny i was thinking about RDR2 the other day. Surprised there hasn't been a full next gen upgrade for it. Wouldn't mind playing it again but only if there's more trophies ;)
I've also been thinking about a replay of RDR2...for months. I've never actually played RE2 or 3 and I might bite with the current Spring sale.Heads up, I've been playing Weird West on the older Xbox in my office and I have had a half dozen hard crashes. Stuttering and audio hiccups too. The game doesn't run well at all on older hardware.
RE3make done. Done with it, terrific fun but have too many other games so not keeping to replay and go for more trophies etc. Got absolutely bonkers at the end, and how frickin strong is Jill to be able to hold that massive cannon! Super camp fun, fantastic gameplay, graphics etc. but indeed isn't quite as good as RE2make....speaking of which...time for Leon A-run :)
Spent the early part of the weekend jumping between games but seem to have settled on replaying Borderlands 3 for some reason. I'd finished it on PS4 but lost motivation about 2/3 through the ps5 playthrough. Initially tried to go back to my old character but couldn't settle so started a new one.

I did start Leon A but was slightly disappointed that it was pretty much a shot-for-shot repeat of Claire A. Did some reading about it and apparently Claire A and Leon B is canon, and indeed so far Leon B feels like it ties in really well with Claire A :)
Making decent progress in my Borderlands 3 ps5 run, but getting the feeling I'm just playing for the sake of it rather than fully enjoying. I'd pick up Dead Island 2 on Friday but I'm a little wary considering how long it's been in development. Might just stick with B3 and hopefully it'll keep me going to Jedi Survivor at the end of the month. Wasn't that fussed on Fallen Over (decent but not really anything special) but think it's closer to what I'm in the mood for
Was probably being a wee bit too optimistic about Borderlands 3 keeping me going until the end of the month. Finished the story last night. Not planning on the plat as I seem to remember at least one of the circles of slaughter being a pain, and not sure I could even be arsed with the frustration of the shooting range trophy. I'll knock out some of the other trophies and maybe go through the dlc again but looks like I'll need something sooner rather than later....Dead Island 2 could be dropping in at just the right time
Still poking around the Weird West but losing a bit of steam. Managed to level up a Demon Hunter in Diablo 3. That was a fun class with really high damage output.
The circles of slaughter in Borderlands 3 ended up being not too bad. Pretty much just the shooting range left, which will no doubt take me forever
Ping! Borderlands 3. Don't know why I thought it was tougher, ended up being pretty straightforward. Might go back and polish off the PS4 trophies, but might give it a while, not sure it's the type my eyes would re-adapt to quickly
Forgot I'd not played the ps4 version of Borderlands 3 on ps5 so have no saved game for it. Don't mind too much as I'm still in the mood, it is a bit of a pain though considering I'd only a few trophies left to mop up. Well at least it'll save me some money from picking up Dead Island 2 straight away....probably....maybe....
Also gave the Streetfighter 6 demo a go, might not pick it up day one (not sure I'd be sticking enough hours these days in to make it worthwhile) but looking forward to it at some point
Yes, my willpower is laughable. Dead Island 2, played about an hour and no complaints. Better looking Dead Island, not much else has changed drastically, and any changes there are, they've been positive. Can't see fans of the first game having any issue with it

Making decent progress in my Borderlands 3 (ps4) replay. Have to say I'm probably enjoying it more this time around than I did back when it was first out, possibly because I'm ignoring the dialogue and skipping the cut scenes though

I got bored of Kena pretty quick. It's one I'll give another go at some point but wasn't one to keep my attention for long. Couldn't tell you why though, there didn't seem to be a great deal wrong with it

RE4make on the ps5. Playing in performance mode with ray tracing on and lens distortion off. I reckon I'm approaching the end of chapter 9 (of 16 I think).It is brilliant. It's every bit as good as I remember it being way back on the GameCube...better? Maybe not; technically better yes, obviously miles ahead, but overall for it's time...I don't think so. I actually think as far as remakes of horror games go, Dead Space was more impressive - maybe the result of being a current gen only game, Motive didn't make something that was compromised by being able to run on the ps4.
I have some way to go still, and I am enjoying it temendously, it is super solid, and does look and play great, but I think RE2make is the better game, and wierdly I think RE3make looks better! The RE engine is no doubt a great game engine and I think they absolutely got the best out of it with RE3make.
Have got to say thought that last 5 RE games in a row (7: Biohazard, RE2make, RE3make, Village, RE4make) all being at least very good if not superb is a great run from Capcom. Surely a new remake in this style for the original Resident Evil has to be on the cards?
I reckon I'll be done with the PS4 version of Borderlands 3 either later or tomorrow at the latest. Been a bit more of a struggle this time though, not been as lucky with weapon drops and a few side quests have glitched (just a matter of quitting to main menu and reloading but it's a chore having to slog though enemies you've already went though). Looks like I'll be finishing up nicely before Jedi Survivor
