DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I was invaded for the first time there in Wo Long (not the AI one) and the really picked the wrong person ro invaded lol. Don't get me wrong I'm all kinds of useless but....

1. My internet's been crap all week, so no chance of a fair fight.
2. I'd summoned an extra character to grind out their friendship for their gear
3. Erm I was lvl 50 odd in a lvl you'd expect around lvl 17, not only that I'd a full set of another characters gear that I'd reached sworn brother with, and it of course has been maxed out to the upgrade level I'm at.

I reckon without 1. a skilled player would still have wiped the floor with me but I'm happy I'm 1/10 of the way to the fight off invaders trophy. A win is a win ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments If you are looking for a fortune teller, I'd steer clear of that Nostrodeckard guy, can't be trusted. Looks like it's at least another day before GT7 legendary car no.2. And being a glutton for punishment, I'm tempted to install the ps4 version....

message 2453: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't know how you do that with playing PS4 versions of games straight after the PS5 version.

Even if I've loved a game, I'm usually ready for something else by the time I've finished.

I've made a ton of progress on Outriders today. Most of the handful of trophies I have left are at 80-90% complete and they should all unlock roughly around the same time (except the class based accolades but I'm making decent progress with that too).

I'm seriously thinking about picking up the World Slayer DLC whilst it's half price.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments My gaming is very mood based. If I'm still in the mood for a game once I'm done, having more trophies to get is ideal. That said, GT7 is an instant double ping, once the last trophy drops it'll be 2 for the price of 1...well these days, probably more pay double get something vague

Been tempted a few times by World Slayer, but personally, once the plat pings, I find it hard to continue a game. so know it'd likely be a waste

message 2455: by [deleted user] (new)

That makes sense. I didn't realise GT7 was an autopop too. Will have to make a note of that, not that I'd be certain of getting the plat as it doesn't exactly sound like a formality.

I think I'll miss Outriders when I'm done and why I'm considering World Slayer. However, I do wonder how much time I would actually put into it. Especially given how PS+ Extra and Standard keeps throwing great games at me to play. I've got quite the backlog now so should probably crack on with something else with my limited gaming time. Plus if I'm playing DLC, I'm not working towards another plat ;)

message 2456: by [deleted user] (new)

Morning all. Finished off the story and all side missions on Outriders over the weekend. Just grinding out the expedition and total kills trophies and the last few class based accolades. Might get this finished tonight but more likely tomorrow or Weds.

Might see if I can get a couple of the New Horizon DLC trophies too.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I shouldn't have made that GT7 prediction. Wouldn't you know, none of the cars needed appeared over the weekend. I think one's appeared this morning though, so hopefully the last one will follow shortly.

Also spent a fair amount of the weekend thinking Wo Long isn't really that much more difficult than Nioh once it gets going. Then I got my ass kicked by a boss despite being ridiculously overlevelled. Could have just been my character build not being suited to fire. Managed to scrape a win 2nd attempt, but yeah, had thought I'd be a high enough level to brute force my way through it

Morning all. Not much gaming again for me at the weekend. Bloody DIY instead - which I don't enjoy but unfortunately needs to be done. I did manage 2 hours on Atomic Heart. I got through the open world part to get to the next 'dungeon' level. The openworld is a bit meh. You can be spotted at any point so you have to be super slow and stealthy and if you are detected you're then inundated with robots coming after you. And the open part felt a bit lacking in interest - plenty of buildings, and buildings to go in to but I didn't feel it was a interesting place. Also not clear on what the game wants you to do sometimes. And then had my first boss battle (Hedgy) which was visually impressive, but a tad annoying as the boss was so fast I often lost sight of him. Not difficult but did consume a lot of resources. I think the game is best in the dungeon levels it seems. So far it's an 8/10 in the dungeons but a 5/10 in the open part - mixed bag in other words. Enjoyable but has its flaws.

message 2459: by [deleted user] (new)

One trophy left on Outriders. Weirdly its not the rarest one for getting all class based accolades done.

Just get to accolades level 20 and as I'm 80% of the way through 19, I don't think it'll take long.

Always got the only online trophy of Wreckfest done so will play the SP as my second game aside other games.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Making decent progress (albeit relatively slow) in Wo Long. Apart from Lu Bu and the first boss, I've found it pretty comfortable so far. I am massively overlevelled though (think they are a bit too generous with exp), I think a couple of them could have been a real pain if I wasn't. Enjoying it.

Playing a little Octopath traveller 2 alongside and quite like it. Decent wee jrpg.

And one more car to get in GT7....they are really dragging it out. That said, I'm still enjoying having a race or two a day and in no big hurry to free up HDD space

I imagine this was Lu Bu? (edit-ah, yes...should have read all the comments first) Very difficult boss. I was underleveled when I first fought him (under 40). I eventually made it through around level 50. The fight requires essentially perfect play over the entire duration, which I'm guessing is around 5 minutes. Much like the Genichiro fight in Sekiro, it was a hard "skill check" boss. Now that I have it down I would be able to do it again easily.

What elements are you investing points in Deckard? I've been doing mostly water with earth following behind.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I'm mostly wind, with a lesser mix of earth and water.

Phil, psn: p4tiny | 197 comments Currently working through the Dead Space remake. Just finished chapter 7.

Dead Space was my first game and first plat on ps3, played it through multiple times, and then last year bought the 360 version to play through on the X1S via backwards compat. The original is still great :)

This remake is stunning! Takes the original, sprinkles in all the best improvements that were implemented in Dead Space 2, and gives it the current gen polish - imo it's just perfect. Best horror game ever as it stands. Might be beaten out by Resi 4 remake later this month, but this is still the perfect remake.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Slightly worryingly, the legendary car shop doesn't look like it's updating. At least some of the cars usually have labels like - new, limited stock, out of stock etc giving an indication of when they are likely to be replaced. Since they were last updated, they've all just been blank.

Knocked off a few more bosses in Wo Long. Reckon I'm over 2/3 of the way through now. Happy taking my time with it.

Ping! - Outriders (PS5)

Then the downloaded the PS4 version over night. Turned it on this morning and...

Ping! - Outriders (PS4)

What a great game this turned out to be. A great, easily trackable trophy list too all with the added autopop bonus.

I might keep it installed and play expeditions now and again. I've got 2 of 3 free DLC trophies and the 3rd looks doable if I can get up to the right level.

Not sure what to play next.

Morning all

30 hrs in AC Odyssey and loving it so far.
The Far Cry / AC formula may be always the same but man, i always have a blast getting lost in them.
There´s this dude waiting for me in some place waiting to continue the main quest and every night i decide to meet him i get distracted by some location and spend the entire session exploring.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Making good progress in Wo Long, just a couple of main missions left and looks like 5 or 6 sub battlefields. Mop up hopefully shouldn't take too long as I've been pretty thorough, so should hopefully be platting it over the weekend. I've zero idea about what to move onto after it though, so not bothered if it takes longer

Played some more Atomic Heart last night - a good 3 hours. Some pretty tough areas to get through including dozens of enemy in small spaces - used all of my ammo - and a boss fight that was a little tricky at first. A very puzzle heavy level though with loads of gravity related puzzles - which were quite good and not tricky at all, but lots of them. There were some really left-field puzzles though which you have to complete to progress - a caterpillar game much like old Nokia phone game that got faster and faster and another where you guide a ball through a 3D maze tilting and spinning a table which was slightly annoying. All in all the atmosphere in the below ground levels is really good. Still enjoying it but I feel like I'm one step away from being too frustrated. It's not hard just sometimes I literally use every piece of ammo, boss health bars wear down very slowly but fortunately the melee in this is quite strong and the powers help but not always in the boss fights.

Hi mates

Hawppy birthday to me! :)

Hawed a game yesterday that i never heard before. Blacktail.
It seems like a FP action adventure in a fantasy world that got some decent reviews.
Anyone heard of it?

Happy Birthday Glass.

I've not heard of Blacktail either.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Ping! Wo Long. Enjoyed it, maybe not quite as much as I enjoyed the first Nioh, but generally good stuff. The mop up went quicker than expected, only had a few collectables and demon pandas to find by the end, and luckily found them pretty quickly. There was a sub battlefield right at the end that looked problematic, but they've been generous with the checkpoints, so it was doable through persistence. One of the bosses towards the end was made a little tougher simply because the lock on camera was ridiculous, but apart from those, found it fairly straightforward.

Potentially a quick double plat too, I'll have to see when the PS4 version is installed, but at the very least, I can transfer my character so I should be able to fly through it at worst. My guess is it will be similar to Nioh 2 though and once I load it in, most of the trophies will pop, with only a few to mop up. Not worried if I have to play through it all again. As I said yesterday, no idea what's next.

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for old Granny Turismo 7 to get her skates on

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
Thanks everyone! :)

Havent hawed anything yesterday as im waiting for the Resi 4 remake.
This is going to be a day one hawing!

Cant wait to play it.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Ping! Wo Long (PS4). Most of the trophies popped automatically, just needed to do the tutorial again before the clear all main and sub battlefields one popped. Now I've really no idea what's next. I was hoping it'd last a wee bit longer. Might have to look at the sales to see if there's any budget games that take my fancy

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
Btw, are there any Arsenal suporters here? :P

message 2478: by [deleted user] (new)

Congrats Deck. Its frightening how quick you get through games.

I'd closed the gap between us to 3 but it's growing again ;)

Played a bit of Wreckfest last night. This is a great game to dip in and out of when you're not sure what to play.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Ping! Active Neurons (not something mine are often accused of). Simple wee puzzle game. I'd already platted the PS5 version, so remembered most of the solutions, so took no time at all. Wonder how many plats I can get before the last legendary car turns up in GT7

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments On a bit of a roll....

Ping! I, AI. Yep that award winning title from the renowned makers of Stellatum.....

I do like the occasional old school scrolling shooter mop but this one's a little uninspiring. Can't really complain for the price but lacking on something

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Ping! Active Neurons 2. Think that's the last of the quick plats for a while. Still waiting on the last car in GT7, and from what I can tell, it could still be weeks off. There just over 70 legendary cars, I think, and they only change a couple every 4 or 5 days, and I'm waiting on one specific car. So the wait continues.

No idea what's next. Tempted to pick up the 2nd Walking Dead VR game tomorrows rather than Resi 4, it'll be one or the other I think

Hi everyone.

Finished watching TLOU show last night.
I need to speak my mind on this.
It was a nice show, well crafted (apart from Bill´s episode which was the a pointless waste of an episode) and it had its moments.
But i cant help to feel like i watched a speedrun of the game´s cutscenes.
There´s a lot of stuff that didnt have an impact on me cause there was no time to develop the characters.
The canibal´s came and went. The final scene was ok but it didnt carry the half the weight the game carried. Even the girafe scene was a lot more "mundane".
Im not bashing on the show cause i genuinelly liked it but overall i truly feel like i was speedrunning through some of the game´s scenes and didnt have enough time to care for most of what hapenned if i didnt have the game´s background.
Im really curious to know what are the general opinions by people of didnt play the game.

message 2483: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked TLOU but it never got up to the standard of the very best TV. I would like to have seen more encounters with clickers which is my main complaint.

The Bill's Town episode wasn't exactly what I was expecting but I thought it was well done. I'd have preffered something more in line with the game as it's my favourite bit of the game but I was happy enough with what they did.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with season 2. Will they follow the game closely? I wonder how many more episodes Pedro Pascal is signed on for.

I liked Bill´s episode. Dont get me wrong. I thought it was well crafted.
But after watching it i thought to myself: "if they decided to kill Bill...then whats the point of the episode? To give a great background for a character that wont matter in the story to come?"
That´s why i think it was pointless.
If Bill had survived then it would give a point to the episode, imo.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Can't say I've a lot of interest in watching TLoU series. I'm sure it's not the worst watch and may give it a go at some point, but at the minute, I've less than zero interest in it.

Looking forward to giving TWD Saints and Sinners Retribution a go later. I think the first game has got a PSVR2 upgrade for a tenner as well , so might pick that up first to give it a proper go. Think it'll be a lot smoother with the new controllers, I found the old move controllers to be extremely awkward and not very intuitive , to the point it made some games a bit of a hassle to play

Imo, Tlou show is like watching a speedrun of the game and skip certain parts. It has its moments for sure and i actually like the characters but im starting to think the game worked so well because of the time spent with the characters. In the show everything moves a lot quicker and it lacks the time investment for certain scenes to have the intended effect.

TWD Saints and Sinners is pretty good mate.
Very very tense and scary. At least for me.
In one session i screw up and got mobbed by group of zombies and died. It was the closer i will ever get to the dread of being killed by zombies (unless there´s some Z apocalypse coming).
The VR is amazing in the game.

message 2487: by [deleted user] (new)

In TLOU game, after you encounter Bill you never hear about him again. It made sense to me that the character only lasted for that one episode.

It gave them a great opportunity to flesh out the character in a way they couldn't in the game.

I liked all the Easter eggs they put in the show. There's a line of dialogue where Ellie says something like "It can't be for nothing" which is the name of the plat trophy. There was the bit where Joel lifts Ellie up for her to drop the ladder down. One of the staples of the game.

I'd like to have seen at least one crafting bench in the show though haha.

Yeah but you have a decent section with Bill in the game.
In the show when Joel arrives with Ellie he´s already dead for some time so there´s nothing. Basically the whole episode was to give context to the letter Joel reads by the end of the episode.
To me, what realy made sense for the character, and honestly what i was expecting, was Bill chickened out at the last minute and left Frank to die alone.
That would fit the broken man Bill was in the game.

message 2489: by [deleted user] (new)

Tbh it's been so long since I played the game, I can't really remember Bill in the game. I just remember liking that section of the game for some reason.

I never played the PS4 remaster of TLOU so it's been a long time since playing the PS3 version. I'm very much looking forward to getting to the PS5 version one day. Soon hopefully.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Well I can't say I've heard anyone say "damn you, you've gone and ruined Ellie and by extension, my life" like after TLOU 2, so it can't be that bad ;)

I've kicked off Untitled Goose Game and Life is Strange for download today. Will add them to the ever expanding backlog.

I think PS+ Extra is great but it's easy to build up a massive backlog.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Had a look at that Untitled Goose Game myself, and it looks like it might be a decent change of pace. Might be one that gets old fast though

Error | 408 comments I must be quite near the end of Wo Long. I have a maxed weapon and am directly tracking down the big bad for our final showdown. This really feels like 360/PS3 era Ninja Gaiden with the modern souls-like customization to me. It's a really fun game.

Did a couple downloads: Unpacking and Weird West.

Played the first few levels of Unpacking and didn't necessarily find it very engaging or relaxing. Weird West is due up after Wo Long.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I hadn't played much of the first Saints & Sinners on PSVR. As I said, games that used the Move controllers were often too fiddly to get into. Add to that the reliance on the PS camera, my setup was a bit too restrictive to get into it properly. It greatly benefits from the PSVR2 upgrade. Visually, it's improved, but with the new controllers and no PS camera needed, it's a lot more free and intuitive. Can actually enjoy the mild panic when you are struggling to remove your weapon from one zombies skull as another gets closer and closer. Definitely feel like I can get into the upgrade a lot better.

Gave Chapter 2 Retribution a quick look as well, and it's obviously more of the same gameplay wise, but visually a bit sharper than the upgraded first chapter. Early days, but happy with both so far

message 2499: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh no, I didn't realise Untitled Goose Game had a speed run trophy. I'll almost certainly give it a miss then. I deleted Stray for the same reason.

A shame as they both look good.
